    S-FM Explosive Collars

    You have been captured by an unknown maniac. You woke up on the abandoned island with several other victims, and the first thing you see is that everyone, including you, have been forced to wear an electronic collar rigged with explosives. Worse yet, your collar's frequency have been linked with another person's collar. If that person dies, the resulting electric signal will set up the explosives, killing you as well. And if you die, your linked "partner" will also die. And you are not the only pair whose lives are linked together. Everyone else has their lives linked in pairs - in some way or other. Although the number of people is not even, everyone is wearing electronic collars, and it seems that the culprit can also change the frequency of collars any way he wants. Naturally, you came to the deduction that the Maniac is in the island as well... and for his own amusement, he chose to hide among his victims! Now you need to cooperate with each other in order to find that Maniac and eliminate him before people start to die in pairs...

    Spoiler : Role cards :
    Sheriff - The sole investigative role among the victims. Maniac and the Witch will show up as "suspicious", everyone else will show up as "not suspicious".
    Doctor - Can heal his target, preventing his death at night, even if target's linked partner dies.
    Victim - Like all other victims, he simply has his power in vote.
    Survivor - Cares only for no one else but himself... unless his life in linked with someone else! Must survive intil the game ends. Can protect himself from being shocked by collar at night once. Generally must keep his linked partner alive to survive
    Sadist - Turned completely insane after being captured by the Maniac. Has the goal of lynching himself to win. Can also win if his linked partner gets lynched as well. Will lose if gets killed at night. Does not have any night abilities.

    Maniac - Can either link all of his victims's collar frequency in pairs, or kill one person (with linked partner, if any) if he gets bored. Maniac can only kill if town did not choose to lynch linked players at the end of day. He can also choose to kill if the Victims only managed to lynch an unlinked player.
    Witch - Can check the collar frequency of two target players. If Maniac is alive and the targets are linked with each other, both of then will be roleblocked. Hovewer, if Maniac is already dead, Witch will kill her targets if they are linked. If Witch targets only a single player, and that player is not linked with anyone else, that person will be attacked, regardless of Maniac being alive or not. Witch can also roleblock (or kill if Maniac is dead) her linked partner without any harm to herself.


    Spoiler : Victory conditions :
    Victims - Ensure that the Maniac and Witch are eliminated.
    Survivor - Survive until the game ends. Due to nature of this game, you also need to ensure that nothing will happen to your linked partner!
    Sadist - Get yourself lynched by victims, or get your linked partner to be lynched at day.
    Maniac - Kill all Victims and survive
    Witch - Survive and ensure that the Victims will lose the game


    Spoiler : Order of Operations :
    - Doctor protects his target
    - Survivor puts his vest on
    - Witch check the frequencies of the collars
    - Maniac kills his chosen linked pair or unlinked target
    - Maniac scrambles the collar frequency



    Spoiler : Special Mechanic :
    Explosive Collars

    The Maniac has the ability to link his victims's lives by tampering with their collars. When the game starts, the Maniac will link his victims in pairs (ofhis/her choice), and if one person in a linked pair dies, the other will die as well (unless healed by Doctor at night or is a Survivor who used protection). Because there are 13 players, at least one player will not be linked with anyone else at start (making him vulnerable to Witch). Because Witch can roleblock linked players and kill unlinked ones, roles like Sheriff and Doctor needs to be very careful and not reveal their linked partner to the Witch, least they get roleblocked. The Maniac cannot be roleblocked, but he can be still accidentally killed by Witch if he chooses not to link himself with anyone. Generally, the Maniac will probably try to link himself with another player, but even that strategy is not without any risks, because Maniac can still die if his linked target gets lynched (even if he is a Victim).

    Also make sure that your linked partner is not a Sadist! This will apply to both Victims and their enemies, particularily Survivors. The only person who can change the collar frequencies is the Maniac, but you will probably need to force a lynch in order to make him to do that action again.

    The Maniac can leave more than one player unlinked (three or five), giving the Witch a better choice of targets. However, the victims can try to make "false" links to fool the Witch. Maniac himself can link together any number of pairs in a simple night.


    Spoiler : General game rules :
    1. Before Day 1 begins, the Maniac will set up the collar frequencies after the roles are given out to players.
    2. Game will begin then with Day 1, and players can lynch on that day.
    3. Days and nights will last 24 hours each.
    4. As usual, you need over 50% of votes to lynch a single player. Note than when a player is lynched, anyone who is linked with that person will die as well.
    5. Players are not allowed to edit their posts or use invisible ink.
    6. Last wills are allowed here. Minimum 1 post per day is recommended

    Here is an example of linked pairs made by random.org to make you better understand:

    Pair 1: Doctor+Victim
    Pair 2: Victim+Victim
    Pair 3: Sadist+Witch
    Pair 4: Sheriff+Victim
    Pair 5: Victim+Maniac
    Pair 6: Victim+Survivor
    Unlinked player: Survivor

    Note that Maniac can choose to make less than 6 pairs, leaving more players unlinked and vulnerable to Witch. Also, there are no night chats, all discussion between the players will be done at day.

    Are the links public? If not, does each player know who they are linked with?
    Links are not public, and yes, each player knows who are they linked with.

    Is there any penalty to lynching the Sadist?
    The only known penalty of lynching the Sadist is that his linked partner will die as well.

    Can the Maniac and Witch win together?
    Sure they can. But it's not as easy as it seems. It will depend on how well Maniac will choose his targets.

    Is the Maniac vulnerable to a roleblock?

    No, as I stated once, he cannot be roleblocked by the Witch. If he would, then the town would have found him with ease, as his linked partner will also receive the roleblock message.

    Linked players do not know the roles of each other. Maniac and Witch each wins the tie against town.

    I'll post Order of Operation later, but with only a few number of power roles you can already guess it well.

    The lynch mechanics are still normal. To lynch a single player, you need a majority over 50% votes. Of course when a player is lynched, any other player who is linked to that person will die as well.

    I don't remember handpicking any roles by myself. In any game I've hosted so far all roles were randomed, to ensure fair and competitive play.

    No, sorry for the confusion.

    That chart is posted in every game that posts in the queue. It is what is needed before being added to the queue. That way, when I get to working on the game, I don't have to worry about overlooking obvious details. It's just to help me organize everything better.

    Anyways, I haven't started working on your game yet, as it's in position 11 of the 13P game. How fast the queue goes depends on hosts playing in the FM, and how quickly SFMs end.
