Monokuma: Principle of Hope's Peak Academy. A bear with a dark side. Disobeying this character is not advised.*
Mayor: Reveal yourself during the day to boost your vote count from 1 to 3.
Detective: Investigate one person each night to see where they visited each night. (Not who)
Lookout: Watch someone at night to see who visits the target. (Gets the location of target as well)
Coroner: Perform an autopsy on a dead body at night. Real last wills, roles, and cause of death will be revealed to the coroner.*
Sheriff: Determine whether or not the target is aligned with the "killers" at night.
Investigator: Gather clues as to what role your target is at night.
Doctor: Heal injuries of one fatal attack dealt to your target at night.
Bodyguard: Receive the fatal blow in the place of whom you protect at night. Will deal fatal blow to attacker.
Veteran: Go on alert at night and deal fatal blows anyone who visits you. (Has 2 alerts)
Vigilante: Deal a fatal blow to someone at night. (Has 1 bullet)
Citizen: No special ability.
Serial Killer: Deal a fatal blow to one person each night.
Arsonist: Rig someone for death each night. May deal the fatal blow(s) during the day or following night. (May not rig/kill same night.)*
Mass Murderer: Visit someone at night and deal a fatal blow to every person who visits your target. (May target locations)
Explosives Expert: Rig someone with explosives at night that will be triggered when in range of another rig.
Cannibal: Deal a fatal blow to a player at night to steal their abilities. May either consume a player or use new-found abilities. (Consumption is prevented by doctor.)*
Forger: Knows allies. May opt-in to replace the last will of a victim targeted by allies or forge a role of choice on a selected victim (living).*
Delayed Killer: Essentially an evil citizen that will become a killing role (random) after one dies.*
Witch: Manipulate one person at night to visit a target of your choice. (Does not notify target of visit)
Jester: 2 Guilty Voters will die the following night.

Special Mechanics:*

All participants may invite someone to talk with at night. (You will only be allowed to accept 1 invite.)
Accepting an invitation will mean you leave your room for the night and will be located at the invitee's choice. (Default choice being one's own room. Negates invulnerability.)
The floors of the school will open as time progresses.
Targets will be notified if you visit them.*
Visiting someone or leaving your room at night will not prevent death.
Staying in your room will make you invulnerable for 1 night. (No night actions may be taken.)
You may visit any location without accepting any invitations to talk at night.
