Crier shouldn't be an Executioner's target

Crier is a role that's basically auto-confirm with a slight delay. All you can do as Exec is to hope he gets killed and somehow win as jester.

Back when Spy still could read PMs, he couldn't be an Executioner's target, could he? So I'd prefer it would be the same with Crier.

Re: Crier shouldn't be an Executioner's target

Criers don't usually reveal who they are early, and there's always a small chance you can just wait to lynch crier with maf (not something you can expect with Marshall/Mayor). I don't really care though exe win is almost always a cakewalk. Might as well tag on Vet while you're at it.

Re: Crier shouldn't be an Executioner's target

It is no cakewalk when your target is a Crier. And in a regular game, every crier would reveal when on trial.
It is unlikely to lynch the crier with maf, because he is usually confirmed in the lategame. Even in 3on3on1 situations (or less), if you reveal as exec and want to lynch the Crier together with the Mafia, most mafia players are too dumb to count or too chicken to reveal, so you will end up getting lynched yourself in most cases.

I'd agree with this change. Or removing Crier, since no one WIFOMs at night anyways

That last part is so true... I was in a troll game once where there were lots of scum & neutrals and 5 town (all unlimited alert Veterans). Executioners target was always Town, and I rolled Exec. So, day 2 I go "If you guys want to get rid of a vet, lynch # because I'm Exec and my target is always town." Instead, I got voted up and lynched >_>; Stayed and watched the game and Town won >_> such morons SHOULDA LISTENED!

It also would've showed scum who the Veterans were because they wouldn't have voted

Yea, agreed. Veteran is not confirmed town. Just wait for him to claim veteran and be like, NO I'M THE VETERAN, and lynch him.

Re: Crier shouldn't be an Executioner's target

Vet is only able to pseudo-confirm himself if he kills. It is a bit different to a Crier who will be able to doubtlessly confirm his role every time he is spared (unless he wasn't blackmailed the night before).
If you exclude a vet, a vigi is actually not far from that in terms of pseudo-confirming himself. However, to overcome a target's Crier claim as Executioner is way harder.

I think it was Deantwo who already suggested exchanging Crier with Spy regarding the Executioner's blacklist, and that sounds very reasonable, as there is no way a Spy as of now shouldn't be an Executioner's target.

    agree

the executions list should only exclude the following: marshal, mayor, and crier.

all other roles have a harder time confirming selfs, some do have an "easier" time (ie vet/vig) but is still viable to it, although crier can be a cc role if it comes nightfall the cirer can state that its not the actual crier.

i rmemeber one game where i was some non-town role (i think sk or something) and we had crier, i claimed crier and next night he said i was not crier.

Somewhat offtopic/funny idea: if a jester exist in game the executions target should default to that, that would make it quite funny for many games

i don't agree with the change, it will make an executioner win harder.
its the same as jailor, if your target is jailor (which i had) - its problematic.

if the mafia have a kidnapper for example, they could kidnap the crier, and next day they'll think he lied.
    so i wouldn't change it.
