Your most painfull console experiences

Over the span of 17 months.

Spoiler : Boring, useless, badly written but true story :

One day, some sweedish guy my father knew, called my father and said he had some cheap stuff to sell.
Me and my dad went to the sweedish guy all like whatsup, points to the TV and a PS3. "1000 for the PS3 and 1500 for the TV."

I bougth the PS3 for 1000NOK, which at converted currency is 161,79 USD.
Ignored the TV, 1 HDMI that can't even 1080P.

Next day, the sweedish guy regretted selling the PS3 and we rejected selling it back.
Apparantly, the sweedish guy planned to sell it to another guy for 2500.

I bougth a ton of games for the PS3. I have about 40 games.
Add in a game. Lolwat, 32GB HDD with 27GB space left? It didn't bother me much, yet.

Play metal gear solid 4, watch a guy smoke for 21 minutes.
Play Disgaea 4, download a patch stuck at 4min, staring on it for 3 hours while livestreaming the download.

Oh god, updating, patching, downloading, installing and everything with games... So boring.
Gee, each game I have added so far take from 4 to 9GB space in the HDD.
Oh wait, there's Singstar in the PS3. OMFGWTF CAN'T DELETE

Format. Clean. Reset. Get that Singstar out of my system.
Singstar no longer there. Get PSN+.

Upgrade PS3. 3 hours of patches later...
OMFGWTF SINGSTAR RETURNED

My 32GB is in reality, 27GB.

Add in Rockband 3, get some downloaded songs.
Wow, RB3 with all the songs has added a total of 11GB space.

16GB place left, go on PSN+ and get a free PSN game.
Wow, 2GB space left.

Get angry of the space, go to the internet and order a 320GB.
Get the HDD, prepare. (I still want the game data)

Backup Utility: Make Backup, with my 5TB MyBook HDD.
Error: Corrupt file.

1. Upload all game saves to the PSN+ Internet thing, delete all game saves.
Backup: Error, Corrupt File.

2. Delete all videos, photos, music, messages, accounts (Everything non-game data)
Backup: Error, Corrupt File.

3. Attempt 7 times, give up and delete everything to see the cause.
Backup: Error...

4. Discover that Singstar is corrupt.
5. Take out the HDD and notice it's 40GB. Wait what, 40/32?

Throw the old HDD out the window and replace it with the 320GB one.
Life became so much better.



Morale of the story :
Screw singstar. Time wasted : More than 20 hours.

From now on, I'm going to dislike everything possible that has a connection to "Singstar".

I live in Korea so there's only 220 slots. I bought an XBox 360 and used a little plug that has a 110 plug insert on it, but goes into a 220 input. I left it to charge and 30 minutes later, it started smoking. I almost lost my XBox because the charger only affected the power cord.

The first time I've played an FPS on a controller (Halo on the original xbox)

Seeing how a genre that sucks on gamepad, is being popularized for console players really lost my days with consoles. I want to see more games that are party-based (Smash Bros), does well with analog sticks (Kingdom Hearts and Zelda), and know's it's genre (I.E: Racing games). Even then, racing games are more like simulators...though my favorite racing franchise of all time will always be F-Zero.

That they did... My xbox is almost broken but my n64 works like a charm.

yea seriously, ive had a broken ps2 and 2 broken xbox 360s but the n64 still works. the lack of moving parts is also a big factor.

pc emulation is the future. one console to rule them all. it already exists. lets compare the xbox 360, now its become xbox one, and what did it become more like.... a computer. ps2 to ps3, more "online features + internet" whats ps4? "all internet, might as well be a computer"

from something you plug into your tv. to something that enables you to play with friends anywhere. to an internet enabled device, next step...... ...... PROFIT
