I think in general, smaller night chats will have more success at productive discussion and teamwork. Getting a 4-person CP9 from FM17 to cooperate is a lot easier than getting a 6-person mafia to cooperate in FM18. I feel like in the CP9, our roles had more standalone power, where each player could think about how to use their role without necessarily needing to communicate with the other players, whereas communication was essential for the mafia in this game, especially with a kidnapper and two drug dealers who had a lot of potential for combined effect drugs.

I think a large part of the reason why the mafia night chat had so much disagreement was because each person's action affects everyone else's action to a larger extent than usual, so you have people proposing synergistic actions for several teammates. Factor in each player proposing conflicting synergistic actions that they feel strongly about, and it makes for a pretty messy night chat.

That's true, I suppose. In CP9 the only thing we really did as a team was fake the electromaniac on day one using the drug and your vented account. And I found the godfather early, so half of our actions were kills and the other half were pretty easy to plan, since you would vent the same person until death. The DD was probably the most challenging and I flet like we never quite knew what to do with it, though I did like how we used it to communicate with the mafia that one time after Sanji claimed escort.

In this FM we definitely gained far more benefit from synchronizing the use of our abilities.

Player's Choice awards are not necessarily second place votes, or a vote for the player you think did the best. A lot of people probably have different criteria for their Player's Choice vote, and there really are no right or wrong answers here. It's simply a crowdsourced award that the participants use to recognize one player from FM18. Usually the Player's Choice Award goes to somebody that did not win any host-determined awards, but it is completely up to you as the players. Each award winner will receive a special forum signature made by yours truly!

I was dissatisfied with the lack of maintaining of the Electromaniac. The use of the vent account to make a double feedback was beautiful, and as much as communicating the 'role block' to the pirate captain was equally cool, I would have liked to see the EM done over more. Drug Dealer is just such a situation thing, it has so many options and none of them work

There is no need to hide the existence of Drug Dealer. Let it be known. And let all PRs with feedbacks be suspected.

Blackmailer? Use the basic. Claim night feedback. Else be the highest poster. Let busy people suicide.

Swamping town with fake information to waste their time is good scum tactic. Just like real life.

Additionally we were unable to figure out how to make this a public poll. Therefore we will use the honor system.
-Please only vote if you are a FM 18 player in good standing.
-Please do not vote from both your FM account and your main or use any smurfs to influence the outcome of the poll.

Thanks in advance, and good luck to all!

I agree with Damus here. Mendez almost seems like host sheeping.

The way I see it, the three major candidates (other than Mendez) have the following cases for them.

    1) Donnelly - He was a good blackmailer who had a good portion of the town fooled. I'm not sure if many publicly suspected him until close to the end game and no one made a major play for him. The savages ate him though.

    2) Parker - Parker used new and novel was to guide the town to three straight correct lynches. She missed one, but would have had at least one lynch (Galloway) if she hadn't got laced soma. She left many clues as to who the scum were upon her death. Ex: Notes with Galloway, and the false mason claim. The biggest downside to Parker is that she was new and appeared a little confused.

    3) Rose - Rose did an excellent job managing the endgame for the savages. The biggest downside to Rose is that Rose was a major lurker at start and had little influence when she was a townie.

    I disagree.
MVP is who is the best player from the hosts' perspectives, while this is from the player's perspective. If they're the same, then Burn-E just did a really great job. The Hosts and the players have different outlook and information, leading to a different (or in some cases, same) conclusion.

I go agree with this. However, I see Burnt Eskimo's play as lucky. She would have been caught soon as scummy if I had lived. She was already in my suspect pairings before my death. Plus, she fell into a trap that I had laid (claiming the fake mason). Anyone who properly decoded the notes would have seen she was scum.

    If I had lived.....

Why would we have let you live. Letting you live would have gotten Galloway lynched. The trap you set would have been good against Savages, but since we knew there was no 2nd soma or enforcer (double drug feedback block + soma message) then it just gave us an oppurtunity to fake the message and have me claim enforcer. Problem really was the original message got posted afaik or made to only confirm Galloway and not the 2nd enforcer.

I was going to vote for you but the lynches you had were only on the scum that were obvious. All the others were mislynches. Not counting Arsonist.

    VOTING FOR MCKELTY.

So this is how to get players choice mvp:
Roll a confirmable town role like mayor
    Confirm yourself
Lead lynches, no matter if scum or town

Seemed to work at least for boss and titus, 2 of 2 games i played

I dont think voting ppl just because their role has more power than others is a good idea. Parker just did job as mayor, and not especially well
    (not especially bad either)

It didn't guide the town before your death, except into their own. You are a good player, but this performance didn't deserve this award over Donnoley/Cafaralli/Galloway. This is personal opinion, of course, but if multiple people laugh and agree that the (confirmed) Mayor was Scum MVP, her plans were not helpful to Town.

Let's see here. If the town would have cracked the messages sent to Galloway, they would have had him as scum. Then, when Mendez claimed Enforcer, she would have been outed as scum. Solely because the town didn't do that isn't my responsibility.

I also had a clubber, who totally missed and acted scummy as frack, lurkers who didn't do anything.

I was also the first two figure out two drug dealers but I was talked out of that by the entire town.

So yeah, maybe the town lost but it certainly was NOT due to my playing.

It was meant as a last will code. Galloway would have to reveal the part of the soma message I was quoting. Then cracking would be easy.

Yeah there was. Frankly, you could logically conclude after Lichtmann was lynched there was NO doctor upon my death. Galloway should have died. He was the best townie at that point. Galloway didn't die. What the frack? Also, I had just backed off from lynching an uncced escort but lynched an uncced doctor. That wouldn't make sense. Y'all should have known that Galloway had CCed doctor.

I couldn't obviously tell the group to lynch Galloway if Lichtmann came clear because that would be a death sentence for the real doctor. Blah. I overestimated town. It was there all along.

Actually just start with the players choice Parker than go to the next one with the most votes aka. Burnt and Gerik etc... Since Burnt and Gerik have the same vote count you can WIFOM kill the other to fool the doc. Smart isn't it?
