(Maybe) Glitch in Mafia.SC2Replay


I think there is a possible glitch regarding a Serial Killers killing roleblockers, I was really confused by this. Basically there are two jailors who jail a suspect because a sheriff claimed he was SK. With suspicion of him being a Executioner, both jailors jailed him. If you look at the replay it shows that they both see the same things in the chat box while in the jail cell. He is the only SK at the time (Amnesiac took SK later in game), and somehow one jailor dies apparently to an SK. There is a witch which takes up the Neutral Evil role. The witch did control the SK that night, but did not have him kill the jailor that died.

To save you some time:
Belleraphone: 5, The jailor that did NOT die
TheGreatest: 7, The jailor that DID die to SK
Trancend: 8, Witch (not sure if witch had anything to do with this but just in case)
Dunkey: 9, The original SK who was jailed and executed the night 7 died.

Note: This could be either a Roles glitch (SK kills roleblockers) or text glitch, but there is nothing else that could've killed 7, so I think it is a roles glitch

If the Jailor's don't execute, they will die. I can't watch the replay right now, but it's likely that 1 Jailor executed (5) and 1 Jailor did not (7).

Also, SK killing roleblockers applies to Jailors. It is intended to happen this way (There is even an Achievement for it).

Jailing is a perfect roleblock, therefore jailors are roleblockers

i was a little confused about your post... but as far as i understood...

a SK was jailed by two Jailors... and none of them died... right?

the Wiki is down right now, but on the Wiki i have added that double role-blocks prevent the SK from using he's "kill role-blockers" ability

for example:

• 1 Escort/Consort block SK = Escort/Consort dies
• 1 Jailor/Kidnapper jails SK = Jailor/Kidnapper dies
• 2 Escort/Consort block SK = no one dies
• 2 Jailor/Kidnapper jails SK = no one dies
• 1 Jailor/Kidnapper jails and 1 Escort/Consort block SK = no one dies (i think)

I think what Cryptonic is saying is right, I think 5 executed the SK and he didn't die, but 7 did die, because he decided no to execute the SK

If I remember correctly only the first jailor to jail him will die regardless. But that's going off memory so it could be wrong. We should do some SCIENCE and test this.

but the question here is does jailor execute come before or after other jailors release in the order of operations?

logically 1 jail cell, 2 jailors, one lets him go, serial killer kills, then jailor executes?
or 1 jail cell, 2 jailors, one kills him, serial killer is then released, then dead serial killer kills second jailor.....


overall tho, I would look at when jailor kill is ranked, and when serial killer kill is ranked in the OoO

Kills (edit: except disguiser) happen simultaneously. The order is just important for whom gets the credit when the death description is shown to town.

Otherwise, Cryptonic should be right.

I confirm i just had the same situation in my game. I was amnesiac remembering kidnapper. I jailed the serial killer with the town jailor. The jailor decided to execute him while i didn't waste my kill on him. I died together with the serial killer that night. I died to the Serial killer kills roleblockers rule. Btw mafia lost because of that.

Oh that what you you mean. I don't think i had fully understood what this thread about about before now, interesting.

I would have thought that the whole "double role-blocked" would still apply, but I guess the way it work is that the Jailor does not count as role-blocking when he is executing? There by leaving only one role-block on the Serial Killer.

Are you sure about that? Two Jailors that don't execute, what will happen?

4. Three Jailors, all don't execute.

8. Two Jailors and one Escort, both don't execute.

This would be all the ones we need to check.

These 2 scenarios I am 100% sure on.

As stated above, we need more case study on 2 jailors not executing, and the affect of 2+ jailors on a SK.
