In my head, our team of 5 is chocopaw (our fearless leader), Darth Sand/SandTrout, philie, Plato, and Zane (the ruthless backstabber/stalker)

I am definitely a passive player and builder. So I would preferably protect our base, or be a spy and infiltrate their bases and do stupid annoying things that do little damage, and speak enough French for them to become distracted so they give up - it actually worked in a league 3v3 before - I just quoted a French lyric - first they were like, oh you speak French? And then they were like, oh hi I can speak a little too, and by the way Plato, play the game properly because we killed your base entirely, gg! And then eventually realise my allies are attacking all their bases and they starting swearing in French and said we cheated.

If Sand and choco are also defensive players, we need philie and/or Zane to be super ruthless and kill everything that is not our base.

Yes indeed, Empath is a difficult hero to play. I am tired playing that hero. It's hard because a lot of communication is required for that hero to be effective.

I am starting to be better at Empath. Actually helping the team and stuff. Using Walls to allow heroes finish off our enemies, entering heroes when they are dying and sucking HP off enemy heroes, using Synergy to increase HP regen and max HP of my team.

My team was so happy with my performance they just kept on giving me OP items - reviving after I die - what is the item that you get after killing Kongor?

And no, chocopaw, I cannot record HoN games because they take too much memory or something.
