Serial Killer didn't kill Roleblocker with setting on

I played a game just a few hours ago, I was Escort, this other guy was Serial Killer. Setting has it on that I will be notified if my role blocking fails, and that serial killers will kill role blockers automatically. I went ahead and role blocked him, and nothing happened. At the end, this affected my judgement and caused a serial killer win when it would've been a town win. I checked replay, there was no Witch or Bus Driver, and jailor didn't do anything since there was a lynch that day. I checked serial killer screen, he got the message of "An attractive individual approached you at night, but you have other plans for them...", but the next day, only death was by the mafia. I didn't get healed (though im not sure if it would've done anything) since the doctor died. So I'm not sure how this is possible.

A glitch or did I miss something?

It is possible for this to happen in rare cases with multiple escorts. The message being shown "An attractive individual approached you at night, but you have other plans for them..." is a bug; it shows if the kill doesn't work and doesn't show if the kill does work. However, the underlying gameplay did work.

Sorry for the late reply.
I just rechecked the video and I was the only Escort in the game. There was also no Consort nor Bodyguards. I'm fine with the message being displayed at the wrong time, but what caused the kill to not work? Based on game mechanics, I should have died when I tried to roleblock the serial killer, right?

The only explanation I can give is that the Serial Killer did not actually attempt to kill anyone that night.

I see, that makes sense. I was under the impression that Serial Killers will kill role blockers regardless. Thanks for the info, and sorry for the trouble.

I actually had something similar today.

I was escort, GF immune to Role-blocking, and I would know if my role-block fails. Figured I'd block each person until I get the failed message. Well, I blocked the GF mid-game, which changed my judgement to someone else, as there were only 2 ppl left that I didn't RB and 1 of them was confirmed sheriff. Point is, I didn't get the message that my Role-block failed on the GF, when it should have.
