Sunday is "Game of Thrones" Season 3!

I'll be torrenting it on Monday of course because of how divided and oppressive TV programming is, and how HBO isn't included in the basic cable package. The common-folk need a taste too!

    Hates of the trailer:

    1) Tyrion Lannister: "Seven Kingdoms united in fear of Tywin Lannister". That line, nor anything close to it was ever uttered in the book. The bloody realm is still divided. Alliances will be forged later, based on a phrase coined by Tywin: "Some battles are won by quill and raven." But Dorne isn't one of these kingdoms living under fear, as Dorne has never been conquered - not even by the Targaryens with their dragons. "Unbowed, unbent, unbroken."

    2) Bitchface Emilia Clarke: on the TV show and in the books she's a dumb stuck-up blonde.

    3) Tyrion Lannister, Brienne of Tarth and Stannis Barratheon are all fit for a giant bedding ceremony! Brienne is not bad to look upon, and Tyrion still has a whole nose! Stannis' teeth are supposed to be half-ground down from grating them whenever he's angry. But HBO takes liberties, and wants us to bang every character in the show.

    4) What's with the spell-check feature now? Is SC2 Mafia forums now Microsoft Word?

    5) Selyse Barratheon is HOT! She's played by Tara Fitzgerald, who is a milf. In the books it is rumored that Stannis never visits the bed of his queen, partly because she's so ugly. Even Petyr Baelish when entertaining the thought says that even he wouldn't screw her. It is also described in the book that she has a "wisp of a moustache", and you can see the hairs. I am sure she'll be allowed to keep her pretty face in the show, and they'll just allude that she's uncomely.

WALKING DEAD TV CONVERSION vs. GAME OF THRONES TV CONVERSION:

The Walking Dead TV series in my opinion is more expansive on character analysis than the comic series, especially because there was only so much they could cram into issues (the comics are way ahead in the seasons), but this kind of story is best captured on film rather than in comic strip, and it's true - fans much prefer live-action skull-crushing than stop-motion comic action sequences.

Game of Thrones season 3 is based on the book "A Storm of Swords". HBO is deciding to split it into two seasons just for torturing their fans, and also out of necessity. I think they learned their lesson that they cut out way too much shit, trying to cram 1000+ pages of material into a 10-episode season. All the characters they either left out, replaced names (because fans might get "confused"), or outright killed because it'll be CHEAPER to kill them now than to have to hire them in later years when they make a reappearance.

Strong example that's going to bother me: Jojen and Meera Reed. They're supposed to be highborn children being fostered at Winterfell with Bran Stark in the 2nd season, teaching him about his wolf dreams and how important his bond is with Summer, his direwolf. So now that Bran is just on the road with Osha, Hodor and Rickon and the wolves - are they just going to pass through the Neck and suddenly comes Meera and Jojen like ominous forest-people saying "We are destiny and we're here to guide you to yours, Brandon Stark,"?

Good show, ain't going to miss it, but I'll miss the important characters I attached meaning to, and that George R.R. Martin attached meaning to. HBO will fill the plotholes, of course.

Question: does Daenarys have control of Qarth? In the books her only struggle was with the warlocks, which her dragons saved her from, and then she and her khalasar left aboard a ship given to her by Master Illyrio of Pentos. In the TV series, it looks like she does a violent-sacking of Qarth, pillages all their gold, and all Jorah says is:

"This mountain of gold you're plundering will be enough to buy a ship...a small ship "

    HOW SAD!
