hey guys i was just thinking about a role that could make being dead just a bit more interesting.
Role name: Ritualist
Description: You are a ritualist who can speak with and manipulate the spirits of the dead.
Alignment: Nuetral
Abilities:
-At night, speak with the people who have died the night before and the day before
-Manipulate one role each night on a target of your choice, even if the role is out of uses
-You will discover all of their roles, even if they were cleaned by a janitor
-After one night, the dead whom you congregated with that night will dissipate and will be replaced the next night with those who have died since then
-The dead will notified that you are a ritualist, but they will not know who you are
Win Condition: Survive until an alignment has won (same as survivor)
Host Options:
-Limited to 3 manipulations
-Limited to 4 manipulations
-Limited to 5 manipulations
-Can cause target on self
Pros:
-Can choose alignment and who to aid
-Freedom of using a select role once per night
-Can protect itself with doc or bodygaurd
-Adds a small twist to the game
Cons:
-Can be killed at night (no option for immunity)
-May often be considered an evil role against everybody, causing it to be lynched
-Manipulation is very situational: your manipulation is limited only to the roles that have recently died
Overall effect on the metagame if implemented: Interesting twists, may confuse people a bit if, for instance, the sk dies and the next day there is another sk death, or maybe the sheriff was cleaned when in his will was who was a mafia and the ritualist spoke with him the night and gained this information, aiding the town, and many many other twists and scenarios to happen.
Additional comments:
-As soon as a person dies, they will be immediately notified that there is a ritualist and that if they leave the game before the end of the next night, they will lose points as if they had left the game while they were still alive. this gives the ritualist a chance to speak with them before they go
-The ritualist comes up as the investigation description of "Loner" (i cant remember the exact description, just the one with loner in is what im trying to say)
-If an arsonist dies and has people doused and the ritualist orders him to burn them, the doused people will all burn, including the ritualist if he is doused
-If the ritualist controls a witch, he has the chance to make the witch control someone who is still alive
-There will need to be 3 buttons, incase the ritualist is controlling a bus driver or witch
-The ritualist can protect himself with the doctor or bodygaurd. If the ritualist is attacked while being defended by a dead bodygaurd, the attacker will die and the bodygaurd will remain dead.
If you have any other questions about certain scenarios such as the ones listed above (bodygaurd protection, arsonist burning previously doused targets) then please reply with them as well as your opinion with the role and if it is overpowered or underpowered. I think this role would be a great addition to the game and would be a lot of fun to play! Please post feedback
EDIT:
Ritualist can get unlimited manipulations if the host doesnt check 3, 4 or 5 (default is unlimited, this is just added incase people think its OP)
Also, i put 3, 4 or 5 because i really think 2 isnt enough.
If the ritualist controls an investigative role, instead of that person who has the role seeing the result of the investigation, the ritualist will see it.
