    Role: Goblin

    Role: Goblin

    Alignment: Neutral Evil

Description: You are a Goblin out to screw over as many people as you can.

Investigator Message: Your target is a loner. They are probably a Survivor, but also might be a Witch, Amnesiac, or Goblin.

    Abilities:
    - Can see the alignment of all players.

    Special Attributes:
    - Invulnerable at night.
    - Immune to Cultist conversion (because he's a Goblin).

Goal: Survive to tie with the last remaining Town/Mafia/Neutral Killing/Cultist. In the event of a tie, all other roles except Goblins, including executioners and jesters who completed their objective, lose.

    Comments:
Imagine this: You're the last member of the mafia. You've expertly taken down their most important roles and gotten the serial killer lynched, but all your buddies are dead. All that remains is you, the executioner, and the veteran with infinite alerts.

Both you and the veteran make your cases with the executioner. You vote the vet. The vet votes you. Your sphincter is clenched hard as you await the executioner to make his decision.

"I'm siding with the mafia," he says, as the veteran is voted up. You start grinning as the results are revealed: guilty, 2-0. The veteran is lynched.

The screen flashes white. "We have come to a conclusion..." You lean back in your chair and pump your fist. You fought hard for this win, and this is the last mafia role you needed. "GG Exec," you tell your benefactor. The screen flashes again. Your hands tremble in anticipation as you await the game to announce your victory. But something is wrong . . . The music starts playing, but this isn't the theme from The Godfather . . . it's a song about goblins! The victory message flashes:

    "The GOBLIN has won!"

The Goblin adds an interesting dynamic in that he is actively trying to get a stalemate situation in order to screw over at least two sides. The Goblin is very versatile. Since he knows all the alignments, he can act as a town role to gain the town's trust. Since he comes up as neutral, he can act like a survivor or amnesiac to draw attention away from himself. Even if the mafia uncovers a Goblin, they have an incentive not to lynch him too early, since the Goblin can reveal their entire team.

    Achievements:
Goblins out!: With 1 Citizen, 1 Mafia, and 1 Goblin remaining, lynch the Goblin and win a tie with the Mafia as a Citizen.

Anyway- on the topic of the Goblin I think it is useless. Winning ties as the only real power is worthless, being a neutral evil with no chance for offense until a stalemate means he is almost never going to gain his win. The 'Loner' alignment is bad for him, as most of the time people hate those roles and this makes Survivor even more useless.

The suggested achievement is just an expansion of Hammer and Sickle, just expecting the Goblin to be the last death before the tie breaker.

You treat it like it is a Power Role, but it is actually going to win less than Survivor and effect less games than Coroner. Beyond that it is likely the least fun role to play I have seen suggested. It doesn't offer the freedom to just say and do whatever that comes with a Survivor or an Executioner (w/ win), but will ask people to try and achieve a Hammer & Sickle caliber achievement, just for a role win.

    I don't like it.

    Re: Role: Goblin

Why is it invulnerable at night and immune to cult conversions? ???????????????????????????????????????????? Why is every new role suggestion immune or invulnerable to something? WHY? EXPLAIN.

Now, my opinion on this role is that it's basicly the same as Survivor, but with a flipped win condition.

    Re: Role: Goblin

Just a copy of "Jew" with a different name. This would be a horrible addition to the game and would be overpowered from how he can see all alignments, and boring as hell as with this role you can simply go AFK and wait until the end. Although I disagree with Slaol on how it would be near impossible to win with, and how it doesn't affect the game much. It can affect the game, by revealing every Scum role and giving the Town an instant win. Also it could be easy to win as, it simply needs to act as a survivor, make sure it gets a team down to one member, and then win the tie. When a Mafia is down to a single member, they would always accept help from a Survivor. Yet this plan actually screws over the Survivor in the fact that no one trusts a Survivor any more.
