So there's a person watch listed for gamethrowing who threw the game specifically because their mafia teammate was named something offensive (hitler, something racist, what have you) and they argue (to me) that the player base will agree with them that such racism/antisemitism should be more severely punished than gamethrowing (or at least punished at all)...
SO I ASK OF YEE KIND HEARTED CHILDREN OF OUR COMMUNITY TO LEND ME THINE HEARTS AND SOULS TO ANSWER THIS ETERNALLY VEXING QUESTION!

Edit: I should mention our current policy is not to punish for this, and that complaints should be directed to blizzard not us.

I can't say it bothers me much if people name themselves after other people, no matter how bad they were/are. But making names including swear words, racism, genitals, insults towards other players or ridiculously long names (donors) that only serve to piss people off could have a mild punishment. Being a jerk isn't funny.

Here's my opinion:

If they get offended so easily through the internet, they shouldn't use the internet at all (especially play a social game). But Blizzard already has a general rule on that, so I don't think Mafia staff should waste their time punishing those people. Seriously, who gets offended for "Hitler" anymore? That was 70 years ago. Whoever was that person that got offended must be old as fuck, he must be more than 70 years old to be offended by anyone who mentions Hitler. Does the person's reaction even seem to fit his argument in the replay? It's possible that he says that because it could be his only defense.

If someone literally offends you on a game, removing them from a single part of the game won't stop them from offending you again if they want to. Definitely report to Blizzard.

Taking offense at anyone else's chosen name or actions is not an excuse to gamethrow, in my opinion. They can feel free to report the person, and if that person's name or actions warrants corrective action, it could be taken. But the reporter must also realize that their own actions in the game will also be subject to full scrutiny, and if they gamethrew, they would be penalized.

Frankly, idgaf about why you did it, the punishment will generally be the same (with some small leeway, but repeat offenders get no mercy from me)

i know about this (i lurk over the reports) really if you have a problem with names role-quit. it would be much easier to do that. but then you will quickly see that sc2 mafia is a place for ppl to do things like and and you either have to do the following
a) role-quit
b) gamethrow and be reported
c) not play
d) do it as well and not care
e) report to blizzard
f) dont give a single care about it and play the game
