Your Unluckiest Moments?

This thread isn't about your "worst game", but rather, a series of unfortunate events that can only be described as "bad luck", if one believes such a thing to exist.


So last night I had been playing mafia for quite a few (like 6+) hours. I'm currently on vacation, so my brother and I are sharing a room. My brother said he wanted to go to sleep, so I said that I'd make it my last game. My last game starts and I'm the executioner, which I get pretty excited about because despite having played mafia for probably ~20 hours total (at least), this was only my second time getting the role, and hopefully the first time I'd be winning with the role (because for whatever reason nobody believed my sheriff claim the first time I was executioner).

Night one I decide to lay it low since evidently a first turn guilty sheriff claim must be suspicious, based on what happened in my first game. The previous day the actual sheriff got a mafioso lynched, and day 2 the sheriff confirmed me as not suspicious. I used this opportunity to also claim sheriff and say that my target was guilty. We proceeded to lynch them, and they were the arsonist. I received my "you take a moment to sigh in relief" message, which I did in real life because the lynch barely went through.

The next day the actual sheriff calls me out as having lied since I said my target was mafia. I claim executioner because, quite frankly, it no longer mattered at that point - I had already won. All I wanted to do was speed up the game in any way I could, get my points, and head to bed. My computer had other plans. We put some idiot on trial who said he was investigator and said that the sheriff was a serial killer (which was impossible because the serial killer was dead and I filled the other neutral role). In the middle of the trial my computer suddenly begins to sound like it's going to blow up. Shortly thereafter, my computer shuts itself off (no automatic updates, I still had power, etc., basically my computer just felt like it).

Time to wait another 10+ hours for my next executioner opportunity :/.

I start the game as Arsonist (there is another Arsonist too), and on day 3, two investigators come out and both have a gas report on me. I claim that I am a bus driver, and make a wild guess at which guys I bussed on the first night, and somehow got it right. I am spared via a 7-7 vote (NOBODY had died yet), which is the closest and largest vote possible in the game. A couple guys ask me to bus them to prove that I'm the bus driver, so I light up all the doused people in the hope that the other arsonist doused them.

Well, almost half of the players in the game instantly died, including all three investigators in the game, but those two guys who wanted to be bussed were just about the only town players who were actually spared, meaning I was instantly put on trial. I claimed a witch controlled me, which for Bus Drivers means you get roleblocked. This was a total ass-pull guess, as the random neutral could be any of the 5 non-killing neutrals -- but it turned out to be right! A Witch was indeed the random neutral, but the town still lynched me. The real bus driver died in the fire, too. A few days later, the other arsonist won the game after a Mexican standoff with the godfather and an investigator.

This capped off my ongoing dozen+ game losing streak.



Some real bad luck:

It was a troll setup with 4 Veterans who had 4 alerts each, plus a bus driver, versus a medley of mafia, serial killers, arsonists, and some other neutrals. I was a Veteran. I somehow managed to lose the game, while the Mafia won for 22 points each.

I am GF and its a mexican stand off between myself, a spy, and a witch.

the previous day we lynched a guy who claimed investor but was really a jester. He was hammering to get one of my mafia killed(he just guessed I guess) so we had to kill him. Sadly my Janitor(me and him were the only ones left) voted guilty and killed himself. The next day the Witch(which no one knew about somehow) controlled me and made me kill one of the 2 last towns, making it a stand off between myself(GF) a spy, and the witch.

Suprised that there was a witch( I thought it was survivor) I asked for the witch to team up with me, saying he should just make me kill the spy or myself(i would survive) and we would win together. Instead he decides to win alone. So he lynches me and wins the next day.


Its games like this that make me want to troll every neutral role in the game and just kill them out of spite and hate of their BS. They never play into their roles, they just do stupid shit for no reason and they should all die for it.

I am jester. with 5 people left. 3 being mafia, 1 being me. The mafia claimed that I was the only mafia left because the janitor had cleaned 3 people, so they claimed I was mafia, and they put me up on trial. So, I say, "Not much I can do now, I mean, You guys figured it out " All the mafia vote guilty. The last guy who was silent the entire game revealed himself as mayor and spared me for no reason. He then succeeds in lynching the godfather. Mafia kills me the following night fearing I might be doctor..............................

Haha there were like 3 mafia, me, and two towns... they lynch the one townie, and kill the other one at night... so apparently i wasnt able to be lynched lol.

Well once I was a Mason and there was like four other masons, we all survive to the end we out numbered the mafia, apparently few of our masons were buddies of the mafia and decide to lynch me and another mason and winning the game for mafia boy was I angry.

One night after several hours of playing, i ended up as the Godfather which happens to be one of my favorite roles..(who doesnt like it xD)
But little did i know, my two mafia buddies were not the brightest.. or rather noobs i suppose.. So i had a Framer and a Blackmailer buddy and at the first night everything seemed fine until the night time ran out and the Blackmailer didnt use his ability..
So the first day came and little did i know the Blackmailer started to vote on my Framer friend.. (i think he read his name in the description and he didnt know what to do so he just clicked his name.. at least i suppose !?!?! o.O)
On top of that we had a lynch happy town.. and they all followed on random voting him without evidence on the first day..

So my Framer buddy is up there there at the trial, trying to defend himself as best he could, but they all voted guilty on him anyway.. Eveybody voted guilty except the Blackmailer who started the voting in the first place.. he was the only one who voted innocent.

So at the 2nd night i was mad at the Blackmailer and asked him what he did and that he should use his ability etc.
and i thought it was ok.. But before the night was over he said "Sorry Tony"

So at the 2nd day a spy claimed that mafia had used names and there would be a chance that i am mafia and that he also knew that the guy who started the vote and voted inno on the Framer was a noob maf as well..

So they took a gamle and lynched me right then and there... after seeing that i was the GF they had no doubt that the other guy was the Framer.. and so all mafia died because of 1 guy who did all the mistakes possible.. xD

Witch gets more points for winning alone, and gets to see "The Witch Wins" instead of the "The Mafia Wins". Why shouldn't the witch aim to win alone? Its much more satisfying :P

I once have been Arsonist, and out of jesterness I asked to be jailed, jailor did so and I told him a joke, night ended without execution. Next night he jailed me again and said that he forgot to ask my role, I said doctor because no one likes to kill doctors unless there are Serialkills, he believed it and asked me to heal him.
Next day an investigator PMed me and asked my role, I said Busdriver of course and when he asked who I had bussed, I said that I was jailed, Investigator asked Jailor if that was right and he confirmed my story. So unless i didn't had a single doused person everything went pretty well unless that I already lied to two different persons and told them both two different lies. Even when Investigator asked me to swap him and I told him that Jailor already wanted me to save him and that there was no point in bussing to important town roles, he agreed to this. Next two nights Mafia visited me and I survived their attacks, but they did know I was Neutral now so they claimed being Investigator and me being Arsonist.
On trial I deffended myself that I already told my role to Jailor and Investigator and that they know I am innocent. Voting was innocent but then stupid Jailor said that I cant be Arsonist since I am doctor (stupid faggot, I wanted to kill at least two people which at this point would have made me almost win) and Investigator was like "Wait, what did he told You? Doctor? He smells like gas..." Instantly put on trial again and killed...

My unluckiest moment was with vet. I claimed doc when i was asked my role... little that i know, next night i went on alert, killed sheriff, escort, doc and vigi..... sk and gf attacked me but were immune.... i ragequit.

I was in a half inhouse, half pub(more or less) game. MY role was investigator and the start was on day no lynch. The first night the jailor jailed me and I claimed invest, he was like ok and such and he did not execute me. D2 roles around and I saw the familiar "Some people died last night." Including in those dead was... The Jailor, killed by a SK. Not only that, but killing roleblockers was on. In RL I was like "Fuck." Many people made the connection and tried to lynch me, and I weakly defended myself saying that it was highly suspicious but I was not the SK. Some people tried to defend me saying Jailor was not a "roleblocker" in this instance but I corrected them trying to gain the town's trust by being highly truthful. Infact I had to because the jailor put my claim in his will and I was afraid of the real SK/maf the next night.

Night 2 comes about, me barely surviving the day. That night I was bussed, and I don't know if it ever saved me but I think it did(I was bussed for the rest of the game mostly, sometimes roleblocked because of the other target being blocked) I invested orange who had not said a thing yesterday and found he had guns. There was 4 random towns(1 adv, 1 basic, 2 random) and 2 lookouts had already died so I figured he was most likely mafia(I think a vigi died too.) He couldn't be the confirmed jailor because he died too. I pm'd, asking for his role and all I recieved was silence. Not only that, but the sheriff had died that night, so I decided to go ahead and claim he was probably maf because they already knew I was invest. The town believed me and we lynched him, somewhat faster than I was ready for. Suspensefully I waited for his role to appear and gladly it was Mafioso. I sighed in relief.

From then on, I was the only investigative role left and I went on to win the game for town. I found the Amnesiac and threatened him to go doc or I would out and kill him(lol.) HE did, and died the next night. Funny, but it helped us win. The SK was amazingly the last to go down, as I thought he was detect because he helped me kill the GF but I was suspicious of him. I knew who was a SK/new Mafioso tho so we lynched him first, him being a Mafioso which suprised me. Next day I killed the SK and it was GG. Good thing town didn't lynch me thinking I was SK.


Next game I won as SK, and nearly got lynched at the 3 player point with no mafia left. A sheriff gunned for my death too hard and I claimed survivor, saying only the SK would gun for someone to be lynched so hard and pleaded that I used logic to help town, and also said to lynch the sheriff because I knew he was SK because of above reason. We did, and I won. However, the game lagged during the sheriffs trial; Crimson and IMINDEEP used this opportunity to scream I was SK like the cheating bastards they are. I would just like to say I hate you faggot cheaters with a passion. I still won so IN Your Face. All High and Mighty claiming "omg so obvious" and shit from your comfy dead person chair... Pathetic.

I had a similar experience, except day one I claimed Vet. Then at night 1 I killed the Detective and the Doctor.
I proceeded to rage day 2, Night 2 I then killed the Sheriff and I had thought the SK hit me because somebody visited me but survived.
Day 3 and here I am raging all over the place because a third townie has been killed. Night 3 I do nothing and miraculously nobody killed me!

Day 4 everything is going normal there was one Mafia and one SK left and one Random Any. However I was having difficulty figuring who was the SK because two people were claiming Amnesiac gone Detective. Night 4 rolls around and I use my final alert, killing not only the real Detective but also the last mafia.

Well this seems easy, me and the Mayor lynch the obvious SK for the win, I ask the fourth guy who has yet to role claim his role, he says hes a random any survivor and I believe it. The SK is dead now but the game doesn't end, instead it goes into Night 5 and what happens? Me and Mayor are burned to death.

It seems during Night 2 when I thought the SK had visited me it was actually the Arsonist dousing me, and he managed to get away free because we had already killed a guaranteed Arsonist from the role list, and because the SK had attacked nobody night 1 and 2 I was none the wiser of his existence.

Mexican standoff between a Framer, Mafioso, Arsonist, and Spy, the day prior they had lynched the Jester, the Arsonist burned both the Framer and Mafioso, and the Arsonist proceeded to commit suicide, the Spy (Me) just sat there laughing as he is the town's sole survivor.

I always get Sheriff, Investigator, Citizen, Doctor, or Arsonist... I mean they are all good roles but its not fun to rotate between these 5... Arsonist is the only exciting one... and even then it gets old.

I still have to win as Escort, Mason Leader, Janitor, and Consort (I have been the Escort and Consort ONCE! Never again... the game just doesn't want me to be them)

I was SK and got revealed by town first night, but was able to confuse them cuz we had a BD Ingame. In the end I was alive with GF and Jester. So Jester did not wanting to vote, but I tried to convince Jester to vote GF. In the end they voted me and I lost. Game was my last yesterday.

However I got reported and put on KV-list. Also ambient blocked me on battlenet and then Akira used his modfag powres to pick Jailor and find me n1 and then execute me only saying "karma."

I rolled the Vigilante and I managed to make the Serial Killer believe I was the Mafia by bluffing him via PM. We end up teaming up and I have him target the Cultists, the Arsonist, and the Mafia. I end up back-stabbing him and he gets lynched because I learned his role after shooting him twice. On the last day, the Doctor heals me and I survive the night, and the Godfather is hanged.

However, the next game I play, I end up playing with the same guy. He rolls as a Jailor and me as an Investigator and he executes me because I tricked him... Very bad luck indeed... Karma...
