    Town Killing Death Notes

In my opinion, death notes are more of an entertainment factor of Mafia than a gameplay/deception aspect of the game. I would love to see town killing roles have this feature.

You may argue that it gives town a way to communicate, but actually it doesn't. Veteran can't give information. Vigilante wouldn't shoot an invulner target and then kill someone at random to reveal that his first target was invulner. I might agree that jailor can abuse this ability and that bodyguard doesn't even need it.

Remember that this is merely an entertaining aspect and not a balance aspect.
I have no use for these bloodless minnows. Bring me a prey that will sate my bloodlust. I hunger.

Town Death notes make the game less interesting, as a Vigilante can shoot and confirm himself to the entire town.
"Hey guys, I'm Cryptonic the Vigilante, I just shot Red."
The more things that can confirm someone's innocence 100%, the less fun the game will become.

Realistically speaking though, that's not much difference between a Vigilante saying in the last 5 seconds of the day "Hey I'm going to shoot Red"

So a Doc may save him or a Witch may control but most of the time it'll prove him Vig just the same - Red or Doc can confirm a heal, and whoever the Witch makes him shoot, it still confirms there's a Vig in the game and in most games it's going to be about 97% chance Witch only controlled him because of the Vig claim which basically proves him anyways.

So my point is - people can basically prove themselves already. It's just the psychology of it is different. With Jailor there's essentially nothing stopping you besides an Escort/Consort, so it's pretty much 100% confirmation all the same as a death note.

The only distinguishing factor I see in how death notes would be different from announcing a target is that the killing roles could relay information anonymously - e.g. a Vigilante can leave a note that he shot someone and he was immune.

So I say if you're going to shoot the idea down, shoot it down on that bit, because Jailor/Vig can already confirm themselves quite easily if they use their ability.

Intent- "Red is Invulnerable." "He looked Jester-y." "He claimed Invest, and then Vigilante, so he is likely Consig->Mafioso."

Real use- "Hey town, I am Yellow." and now the provable Town roles go from Mayor, Spy, and Masons to include Veteran, Vigilante, Jailor, and Bodyguard if he were to manage to draw a heal during his action.

In theory it helps killing roles justify their actions or give tidbits of info, in reality it is game breaking.

Do you think it is significantly different from what I said? I don't think the difference between the two is what makes it game-breaking - so a Doctor who disagrees can save his target, either way, the Vigilante is still confirmed. And you can't really stop the Jailor anyways. Most people are just too hesitant to role claim, and the psychology behind a death note might make people more willing to role claim, but it's not like the option (at least, in substance) was never there.
