What is wrong with this picture?

I'm Mayor (Xen).
MM goes me n1 with a couple others.
MM slays me and them while the Bodyguard goes to the MM and dies as well.

Why did the BG die? I see this role do glitch-like things like this all the time.

MM targeting MM is the only explanation i can offer.

Bodyguard visits the house of whoever the target he is defending visits, so this is intended and not a bug. That's straight from DR.

So I was recently in a game where I was the mass murderer. Was invuln at night, and able to target myself.

I targeted myself night 1, and so did a Bodyguard. As a result the body guard shot and killed me in a shootout.

Is this supposed to happen? I would assume visiting your own house would mean you never leave the house, and as a result the bodyguard entering wouldn't kill me... he's attempting to protect me. Like a backstab kind of deal... I don't feel like I should have died. Please let me know if this is as designed.

I you MM A visit target B while bodyguard C is going to b aswell you die if the bodyguard pierces night immunity.

sadly, you are not exactly the same as the vete. the system sees you as visiting player A so its not a bug

if its a good idea to change it however... not to sure about it.

I have heard Bodyguard follow his target to their target? That would have Bodyguard kill a Mass Murderer no matter who it targeted if the BG targeted the MM. Not sure if the Bodyguard does that, but it makes him thoroughly confusing if he does. lol

Bodyguard protects MM from any target killing.

Everyone who visits MM home will be killed.

Bodyguards target (MM home) is attacked, both him and the attacker are killed.

In other words, BG shoots MM because he believes that an intruder is attacking who he believes he's protecting.

The bodyguard was not protecting the MM. He was protecting another person who happens to visit the MM. Post a replay to confirm this.

However, I would like to know how bodyguard mechanics chooes who to protect in the case when 2 or more targets visited the MM.

Edit: Never mind. I think I see what's the problem here. This indeed is a bug, since the MM doesn't "attack" himself.
He merely visits himself.
