    Problem - You never see Spys

    The only way you ever see a spy now is if you specifically put one in, which in turn defeats the purpose because all evil roles know they are there and just won't say anything.

    Yes you can get them with Random Town and Random Any, but the chance is very small and most other town roles have a secondary random option. Please include spy back in the investigative or some other random role.

    I disagree with this. Spy is incredibly powerful.

    Unless Mafia has a Janitor and a Mafioso it gets to confirm 1-2 players at night as not being Mafia. The hearing of the text is very strong, especially so against trolls that post stuff like 'woof' when their name is Dog. The hearing of PMs makes the Spy confirm-able (such that it is way OP and i remove that option) and able to join in on any town roles that manage to confirm eachother, and the mafia kill option (the weakest of his abilities) is spectacular at getting to see if a death note is trust-able or if a lack of claims to having been healed can reveal a neutral evil.

    Maybe it is just in my hands, but Spy is incredibly capable. So capable that I build saves to weaken it and I no longer think it deserves to be in a random other than Town Random and Any Random. Too strong to appear regularly, but it also would become weaker if it appeared regularly. Spy is strong enough to deserve to be called "investigative", but should remain exotic.

    You're kinda overrating spy utility. Spy falls down when mafia became skilled ie be careful when discussing at night and when pming. The only utility of spy would be to know who is attacked at night and gather informations from town pms.

    when Spy was normal to see... Mafia didn't talk at all... mostly ruined the fun of team-work cause there was no planing... but Spy is useful as Slaol said even if Mafia don't talk (and the right options are ON)... you get to know who isn't Mafia... a NS clue is as good as any other clue if your using it right

    When confirmed Spy is in the game, and PMs are on, I go:

    -pm red Hello
    -pm blue Spy,
    -pm teal Please
    -pm yellow PM
    -pm green Me!

    and hope they respond.

    If you read my post you would've seen that I said they weren't RELIABLE. I agree that spy is powerful SOMETIMES. The problem is that sometimes a spy can get absolutely no information at all all gam, or they could find the entire mafia, I.e. unreliable.

    Spy's power is entirely dependant on Mafia set-up.
    If they have Janitor and Mafioso, spy is useless.
    If they have 2 Consort/Framer/Consigliere, spy is powerful.

    Spy should remain less common. And sure there are games where a Spy does nothing, but there are plenty of games where the others don't either. Good thing about Spy is he doesn't random click. It all comes to him.

    In my opinion, spies are useless on pub.


    --- PM are usually turned off.
    --- Maf still utilizes anti-sociality and "-target"
    ------ Otherwise acting captain obvious "Target X", which you can see in a few seconds.
    --- Maf-Visit-Who clues are neglected by town.
    ------ At least you know who to vote innocent.

    I would say, give them an ability to replace PM if it is turned off- or give the option of PM Random instead of Enable / Disable.



    They are very overpowered in Ranked, which none plays anymore.
