Is it fine for jailor to jail without executing, even if he can and he knows that the jailed is a killing role, just to buy time for town to weed out the rest of the mafia?

Not sure how that would be advantageous. If the Jailor dies, well, the town is fucked. But if the Mafia hit the jailed guy, then the mafia wasted a kill on a third party.
How is the town fucked if the Jailor dies? It's useless. The town is fucked when the sheriff and/or investigator dies. But then again, they are usually the ones who are AFK, right?
There should be alternative clue systems in place, that do not depend on players in the game.
E.g. "Explore the City" option for those who do not want to go to the Circle Jerk Discussions.
Oh, I misread the OP. This is a situation where the Jailor jails a Mafioso or Godfather indefinitely while the rest of the mafia can't do anything to kill people.
The result: Mafia can't kill and the town wins if they cooperate.
Why you should feel bad: Giving the Mafia only a single killing role opens you up to these sorts of problems.
@DR
Thus mafioso-GF combo?
@AscendedOne
Apparently, they don't like 3 days of chatting without lynching. Not unless it is their final hope and town is desperate to win.
