Just claim an important role that the mayor can't disprove. Such as lookout or something.

Say you're a Town Power / Random Jailor and jailed X Player, Janitor cleaning a role after being idle to give a fake "clue" a disguiser exist, say that it's the Mayor so quickly vote him and hope that he doesn't vote fast to prove himself with extra, X being the second Mafia due to no kill.
(You as a mafia killer, would kill Janitor's target to enhance that a disguiser attacked, X is Mafioso/Godfather since no "kill" and Mayor is disguised one)

Bonus Points if you do it the moment a Detective stalks anyone who can visit Mayor without hurting him.


If you're lucky Neutral Killer, you can WIFOM as a neutral killer to reverse the situation to lynch Mafia, kill the non-Mayor and hope Maf gets Mayor. If far enough it would force a tie. (Mass Murder may target Mayor and him & Maf)


Back to being a Mafia, knowing the Neutral Kill WIFOM - you can plan ahead to bypass any Neutral to screw you over.

deal with mayor:

-killing role: wait one night and then kill, depending on if there are protective roles in the game and if the doc will wifom
-MM: Kill only if no bg is confirmed yet in the game
-Mafia: bm, silence, and my favorite: DISGUISE
-witch, make others kill him
-jester: piss him off
-cult: depending on set-up, but cult him asap in most cases

Smart mayors? You're fucked. Best bet is to either try to pose as an investigative role and get him to lynch some townies, or just flat out kill him, hoping there isn't a BG/BD. You can try to blackmail him or something similar but it wont tend to do much

You should always leave dumb mayors alive until the very endgame because they tend to help you more than hurt you

Smart mayor? Coordinate with other scum to kill off bg's/docs, then hit mayor.
Dumb mayor? He can vote with you. It's like having more scumbuddies.

A Mayor can only be as good as his Town. To defeat a good Mayor, Mafia has to be rather proactive in sowing disinformation amongst the town. If a smart Mayor can't trust the information he has or is being given misinformation, he's about as good as a dumb Mayor.
