Favorite role and why!

Personally, Vigilante. I feel the role has the highest skill factor and on top of that has no ties attached. The Vigilante can change the odds and the course of the game in one night both for and against the town. Nothing in the game is as satisfying as having that mafia who did not quite get lynched or that person of suspicion avoid the radar, only to be eliminated by a pro Vigilante.

Close second, Jailor and that followed by Consigliere.

Spy. It is so satisfying to catch mafia based on their behaviour and typing patterns. Although some games may be boring because of less active mafia dialogues, it is potentially the most involving role.

Godfather, I love being the mafia boss and nothing feels more accomplished than leading a team of mobsters to victory. Ya it feels good to be the town but since you have the numbers it always feels like a bigger accomplishment to defy them and play as the villian

Bus Driver
Why: Like the vig, bus drivers can be better off not doing anything at night sometimes. A random switching bus driver is right below a random shooting vig, due to the fact it messes up investigations badly. Sure it can cause the mafia to miss there mark, but it can cause a sherriff or invest to call inno on a guitly person, or the other way around. Bus drivers can randomly swap, but that means giving up your role to keep the town informed, and bus drivers are big fat targets for the mafia.
However, bus drivers can also help keep power roles alive by making it unpredictable where they will end up. If you know someone is likey to die at night, swap them with the most susp. person in the game. It my result in mafia killing one of there own, or even the legendary death description of "Hit by a bus".
My number 2 is arsonist. Very deadly late game.

I love being Jester lmao. Jailor is pretty intense... I also like being investigator stuff etc.

Funny thing about the vig. It was 2 Mafia vs 1 town right? Mafia is playing around and lynches one of its own. The final night, the vig kills the mafia and town wins hell yea lmfao.

Then bus driver. 1 gf vs two town, bus drivers swaps the gf and the gf's target, and town wins.

Citizen, Mafioso, and Survivor.

I absolutely love the mayor. When I am mayor, I generally reveal when no sheriff or invest reveals on any particular day and am usually able to get town to listen to me. I check all the logs and ask everyone to pm me their role. From then on, the game is fairly straightforward. I slowly eliminate the people who do not state their roles and those who claim impossible roles based on information from other players. When the game end, I feel so accomplished that I led the town to victory. It's a great feeling

I have a healable mayor but only 1 defined doc. It's a good balance. Note that the doc can only heal 1 person, so either the revealed mayor or the invest may die. Doc has to make a calculated guess as to who the mafia will attack. It's more interesting this way and the mayor has a chance of living for more than a day

I've gotta go with disguiser as my no. 1, trying to mimick another person's attitude while also possessing that aura of being a trustworthy member of town is just amazing to me, some of my most epic games has been as a disguiser, heck, even if you don't use it that strategically well, the double mafia kill has made me win a couple of times late-game.

My second favourite role has to be consigliere, whenever I'm the consigliere I basically am the godfather, both the godfather and the second hand mafia member are basically following my directions, due to my leading capabilities as consigliere, I have guarenteed the mafia a landslide win a couple of times (all three of us survived) by both claiming investigator, but most of all by stalling (a technique I use often, where you basically stall lynchings by spreading confusion amongst those town people who are still in doubt about the various roles).

My third favourite gotta be jester, because it basically is t he role that fits my personality the best (sad I know), the reason he isn't higher on the list is because out of all the three mentioned here in my post, I also feel he is the easiest to win as.

Jailor is definitely my favorite, it's fun to jail mafia through deduction and logic, then have them suffer for 20 seconds before deciding to execute .

Bus Driver and I have a very special relationship.

While Bus Driver can often ruin games when he switches people, and dosnt leave it in his last will, I find nothing more satisfying in the whole game of Mafia as waking up in the mourning and reading "Emosapien was hit by a bus. He was the Serial Killer". So for that reason, Bus Driver is my favourite role, as long as it's not being played by a noob.

Spy. It's always fun listening to mafia try to throw me off and fail in some way. In one game I managed to find the identity of two mafia based on what their plan was and their typing patterns (ie one mafia said to the other to claim vigilante, and next day, sure enough, some guy claimed vigi). Spy is also EXTREMELY useful endgame.

Oh yeah, and seeing "Mafia: FUCK YOU SPY" is rewarding on its own

I love almost all the roles, but let's see....

Doctor - yeah, that's me. No pressure, just being the silent hero. I love it. I also like that I can get supermad, when they are trying to accuse me, because I was silent the whole game. Oh boy.

Jester - When I get a Jester, I don't play to win. I play to have fun. It's awesome how I jerk around. Saying I'm an investigator and random lynch s1. Turns out hes mafia. Great, doctor heals me. Next day I accuse someone else, who then reveals himself as mayor. Awesome, I say I'm a survivor, but I thought I was an Inv. Hell yeah. Last day i say I am a serial killer, and the mayor I wanted dead days before now lynches me. A-w-e-s-o-m-e. Then the real sk kills the mayor, the sk dies from grief, and the Jester has won. Did I say it's awesome? It is!

Jailor/Vigilante (especially the Vigil) - When I get these, I am the boss. You don't know your ability? You're dead. You talk bullshit? You're dead. I don't like your face? You're dead homie. I am the rule, and the only guy I respect is the mayor. I never shot a mayor. Only doctors. On a serious note, I do shot doctors sometimes. They are so damn silent, ha-ha. Well, that's the part where Jailor is a bit... more reassurig. You kill people, because they fail your test. After that, I don't care if they were townies or not. I only ask 2 simple questions. Not my problem if they can't answer that. Yeah, these are the roles when I can get out of my "doctorish" skin, haha.

Witch - yo sheriff, check yourself, thank you. yo doc, heal me, thx. yo sk, you are getting annoying, kill yourself, kthxbye.

Disguiser - everyone loves him.

And the jolly joker.... the Bus Driver! I am an epic bus driver, and it's a crazy good role. I mean seriously, for the first part of the game, you have absolutely no idea what you are doing. Ppl saying stop random switching? Well, shut up, I have more information about the players then all of you together. Burn! But of course, the fun comes with a price: I have to work more than a frickin investigator. Sure, if I wouldn't random ppl at the first part (by you reach the last part, you probably knows who shall you switch), I could literally go afk, but I want my fun. Oh, and hitting someone with a bus is the best thing in this game.

Arsonist - I love this class and I can just imagine peoples' faces when I kill 4 people in fire and make the mafia and town lose simultaneously.

Either the witch or the consort.

The witch is uber-powerful. It's like being a role blocker++. Being on your own and hoping neither the mafia or the SK hits you is hard though.

The consort is fun too. Nothing is quite as good as shuting down the sheriff, doctor, or whatever role you need to shut down. Escort is nice, but evil escort is better.

Jester and Witch.
Jester because getting myself lynched after making a little less than half the town trust me, and seeing their reactions when I was jester... priceless.
Witch because being able to control killings while not having the weight of godfather on your head is great.

There aren't any roles I love to play more then any others, just ones I HATE. Those being doctor and survivor. Whole point of doctor is to lay low and figure out who is gonna get sliced. You can't contribute to the game to find liers really, other then people claiming healed or doc or whos role doesn't make sense.

Survivor... is just basicly not making yourself a target, and to do that the best way is to not participate in chat and predict when you will be hit. The whole point of mafia for me is to either observe chat or to participate in it, this role has neither.

By not participating in the town's discussion, as survivor, you are making yourself a target for a lynch, and claiming "survivor" won't help you on the stand, everyone will guilty you. A true survivor will participate and actively seek to lynch the killers, that is until the town has proven to be a failure of a town, at which point openly declare "i'm survivor and am siding with mafia/other now", the trick is to know when the killers decide to think you're an important towni - that is when to use your vest and say next day "vest > you".


My favourite role would be the Witch, i've said this before :P

Manipulating the town, mafia and neutral killers is quite fun, and I never actually take a side unless I have no choice. Being the last person standing and winning alone as a Witch after having the sk and last mafia take each other out is the best, heh.

#10 - Witch - because I don't know who's my buddie, but if i get hold of a vigilante - this instantly jumped to 4th fav

#9 Mafioso - because I get a say in who dies that night

#8 Survivor - basically an observer for the game

#7 Mayor - because this class requires abit of skill so you don't die instantly.

#6 Bus Driver - because I do enjoy getting 'ran over by a bus' and town cheering for pro bus driver. Also I hate random bus drivers.

#5 Executioner - it's easy..

#4 Godfather - I enjoy being able to pull wool over ones eyes when I'm in jail, and have a mafioso amongst my buddies... Also, because I can pretend to be the subtle jester.

#3 favourite is prob Jester - I love trying to subtly get myself lynched

#2 Disguiser - Getting my gf to do nothing that night, and killing someone for the mafia single kill - disguise, is genious in some situations. Or using the double kill to take tactical advantage of numbers, also good. I just love knowing that once I kill someone with this role - my fate is determined by the flow of the game, and me just coasting along with it.

#1 Serial Killer - Yep, all time fav, is to be the SK. I have no ties, I have no one really looking for me at the start of the game. Early stages - mafia want me. Late stages - mafia & Town fear me. Throughout all stages, I'm just a doctor.. I can lay low and say nothing and take the random doctor stance, or I can speak up and pretend I'm doing the 'obv doc target stance' as a defence.. The only thing I hate, is when you accidentally kill all the doctors early on...

I'm really surprised only one person has listed sk as their favorite. The feeling of being all alone and just murdering stuff is stupidly awesome. It's kinda hard to win as, but I don't care. It's just fun.

My second favorite is definitely spy. I like listening to the mafia, it provides something really cool to do. I'm not a very skilled spy, but I love it.

Third has to be witch. When you have the information, you can control the game, no problem. Feeding false information to the town sheriff/investigator is awesome.

Last is the jailor. Lock em up and interrogate away. Kill them if you happen to be suspicious. You are one of the most powerful town roles in my opinion, and I like that.

I prefer the Survivor as it's a unique and diverse role that can win as any party, and usually they get to see the game play through as in most settings I know, they have 3 or 4 vest which is an added bonus. =) Many people see no threat in the Survivor and normally they seek to help the Survivor if they help them back with an extra role in the day, so given that they help the correct party, they will have a higher chance of winning.

Also, my second favorite role. (Considering I've gotten it 6 times in one day after winning as it once.) Jailor! The thrill of being able to roleblock a mafia and kill them with my bloody axe. But what also makes an amusing night is when I jail somebody I believe to be a townie, click Execute, but during the last two seconds of the night, I cancel giving them a sigh of relief, gets them every time yo.

Jester / Survivor / Executioner / Witch (Though I haven't played her after 800 points once - She just seems hilarious.)
All Loners, because with them it's most of a mindgame for me.

In general, I tend to like the villain roles more.
My favourite role for the time being (as I didn't even play all roles yet, at least not without dying in the first night) is definitely Arsonist. You are on your own and have to decide who to douse, when to burn and if you try to kill everyone at once or if you aim for multiple burnings. And I have to admit, it's very satisfying to see the whole town burn.

I love a random arsonist and Vig roles best.

Arsonist if random since people tend to completely forget about you unless you get detected and if you douse the right people and they don't get killed off by the other roles you become a ticking time bomb that wipes the slate clean at the end with only you standing.

Vig: Prefer to play this a cit and keep the shots for later when you run out of voting players and mafia start to reveal more. Then start the killings and bring it back to a town victory.

I love roles that rely on your ability to talk well during the day, night-time activities being only of secondary importance. So that means primarily godfather, jester, and spy (at least the way I play them). Disguiser's a heck of a lot of fun, too.

And now Amnesiac is quickly becoming my new favorite. Joining the mafia or becoming a serial killer to screw an unsuspecting town is just priceless.

Witched Jester LOL Says it in my ingame name.... lol.... Sadly my favorite roles Witch and Jester are the 2 roles I haven't won or get too much.. Witch cause you manipulate people and also hide as survivor and just don't do anything then reveal when mafia has the lead... Jester cause it's funny.
