Point Requirement for Godfather

Would be nice if people could not get the role Godfather unless they have at least 200 points. Getting a first timer playing Godfather = auto-win for town every time. It's painful.

You assume a first timer listens which actually happens less than 25% of the time, and even then they usually do stupid things during the day regardless.

This is never an issue for me but it might be annoying for other people and since 200 points is very low I don't think this will butt hurt anyone also If possible there should be more clear instructions or more help for new players because they are always clueless in what to do

While I like this idea, I think that to be fair to the town if there is a point requirement for GF there should also be a point requirement for Vig and Jailer.

I don't really like this idea... there can be people who play for the first time and still have a grasp of what to do as godfather (and you can at least try to explain a little bit) while on the other hand there are people with thousands of points who don't know what's going on or who just troll.
People who don't know what to do or don't want to do it, can "destroy" games in almost every role (especially jailor and vigi, but even as citizen), not just as godfather.
If you completely want to avoid this issue, your only possibility is to play inhouse games with just those people you know as good mafia players.

How about we have a 10k point requirement on Sheriffs and Investigators? Because they are important town roles and we don't want them to be "completely clueless" when it comes to finding out who is Mafia. I'm kidding. =)

We shouldn't need a point requirement, points don't mean skill after all.

Most of the people who play mafia coordinate the skills of someone by their points.

I've been mafia a few times and gotten a first timer as GF, and yes, it really is painful because they will randomly kill, kill people who would get them exposed, easily give away everyone else, etc. But yeah, like Admiral said if there is supposed to be a point requirement for Godfather, then it should be something more along the lines of ~500 because 200 is extremely low, even for people who play almost every day. If there really is going to be a addition for any role such as this, then Vigilante, and Jailor, should have a point requirement like Admiral said above.

Good luck convincing a bunch of noobies to lynch Godfather that way. It would likely backfire and protect Godfather from lynch all game.

, personally I don't think your skill in Mafia has fully developed, you and Blindlogix proceeded to lynch me, a town player, even though both of you, also town members had solid proof that I was a fellow town member, all because the obvious Mafia had spammed that I'm a guilty Mafia in caps? I have less points then you, I had a role with less influence over the town, but I was able to find out who the Mafia was, but you couldn't? I wasn't even an investigative role to begin with when you were. So therefore, points do not determine skill in a number of cases my good sir.

How would the forum member even identify the player with 1000 points? Colors and names are different.

Godfather is an easy role to blend in with. Anyone that knows how to play a basic game of mafia usually knows how to play the godfather.

I've been playing this game allot and don't have that many points.. mostly from being killed early on by Sk or mafia. I can't remember when was the last time someone lynched me. Even jailers usually let me go. But when you gain only 8 to 18 points per game (not counting how many times I've pulled the roulette trigger and died) it can take awhile for them to add up.

So no min points on any role... the newbs will just have to learn the roles and the experienced will just have to put up with them. Better having a newb than a troll.

I have played games where the godfather literally says "how do i play, it says 'Godfather' in the corner and underneath, it say (names of the other 2 mafia)
this has happened to me and other people too much, so a point requirement would be a good idea.
