I feel as though everything that needed to be said about this issue was contained in the last thread. Creating additional threads regarding banning the map, un-banning the map, or anything else besides discussion on the map itself provides no benefit to the community. With 500 posts, I very strongly believe that there is nothing more that can be added to the discussion that would be of benefit to the community at this point.

Becuase in the long run, the haters will always hate. Whether its on the forums, in the pubs, the reviews, the trolls and the like will always attempt to bring down Mafia. As long as these haters run around with all there hate. This is not considered a win. I am sure more hate will spawn.

Blizzards response also sounds.. careful? Like they are tying not to say anything one way or the other...

For now I will consider this a Victory.... like we won the battle, but not the war sort of thing.

Yeah I get where you come at and I am sure it will draw more attention, however, who exactly are we sending this attention to?

Very very casual gamers who rely on positive reviews may stay away, which all honestly are the kinds of people who could become fans fo such a game like this, its fun.

Then when it comes to all the racism and the evil words, that may attract other trolls...and the cycle will continue.

Yeah, the eagerness will give it a try, but its gotta be the right kind of people or else these new people may jump in on the train of hate.

It wasn't even really much of a fight. When you build an argument based on lies, what do you think is going to happen? Blizzard reviewed the map, and aside from some assassination keywords that weren't even in the long list of troll complaints, found nothing that was out of line. Of course, nobody really expected them to go to bat for people who intentionally ruin the gaming experience for others, so this isn't much of a surprise to anyone other than the trolls who thought they could act without consequence. The map is back on the front page, the banlist is still there, and for all intents and purposes they've failed at their mission to destroy mafia.

Although he probably doesn't deserve to play at all for going to such extremes to retaliate against DR and everyone else for his punishment, I'm going to disagree. If we start permabanning players just because they annoy us, then we would actually become the abusive moderators they so desperately want to believe we are. We need to stick to the crime and punishment system that's already in place and only punish players when they violate a rule in the game. If they want to play legitimately, they'll be allowed to. If they want to continue to gamethrow, cheat, or hack, then they'll be right back on the punishment lists that they're on now for an even longer period of time.
