Note: I am not purposely adding two roles to spam the suggestion forum. I just think each role I create should have its own thread and discussion. If you want me to combine them into one thread, please let me know.
Role name:Traitor
Description: A cowardly individual who only wants to join the winning side.
Alignment: Neutral
Abilities: If targeted by a killing role Mafia, he becomes a member of the mafia. If targeted by a killing town role (vigilante, jailor execute) he becomes a member of the town. He has no powers of his own before and after conversion. If targeted by a lone killer (Serial Killer, Arsonist) he dies. If targeted by a class with a limited amount of "shots" (jailor, vigilante) that class does not waste the shot (as he wouldn't be technically shooting the guy.) If targeted by two night killers he dies and the limited shot roles (vigilante) use their shot. To prevent mass trigger issues, this role CANNOT be healed when he is neutral and has not joined a side yet.
Win Condition: If member of the town, town must win, if member of the Mafia, mafia must win. If not targeted at all and stays neutral throughout the game, he loses.
Host Options:
1)Becomes Mafioso if turned into Mafia and no Mafia remain.
Pros: Much like a veteran, this person wants to be targeted so he can obtain his victory condition. He is a fun neutral who has to play with brains and figure out which side will win and try to get that side to "attack" him.
Cons: Impossible for him to join the town if the vigilante and jailor are dead and must then try to convince the Mafia to attack him. The Mafia might not be so eager however, as he has no powers and the Mafia would probably want to use their night attacks on Power roles like the Doctor or Mayor.
Overall effect on the metagame if implemented: It's a race for either side to get him to join you. The Mafia want him as he's a fourth mafia member, and the Town wants him as he can claim he was the traitor and have the town killer back him up (this would occur in the later stages of the game probably.) If both sides are too eager to get him to join, then he dies and nobody gets the benefit.
Additional comments: With the addition of the 15th player slot I feel this would balance out difficult setups that favor town or favor mafia as he is a neutral that swings both ways. This player would have to play smart however and not draw so much attention to himself, but rather try to subtly get attacked by one side. When investigated by Sherrif as a neutral or townie he appears as not suspicious, if he's mafia though he appears as Mafia. When investigated by an investigator he appears as either a citizen or blackmailer (could use advice on what he appears as investigator).
