Leave an anonymous message to person you kill.

Last night I was a SK and a troll claimed he was SK. Naturally I killed him that night. I really just wanted to send him a message that impersonating me was not OK.

I'm thinking that at any time you can set a message such as "-killmsg Picking Rebecca Black as your name is only going to get you targeted." and the next time you kill this message is displayed anonymously before their last will message. There are a few ways it could be implemented. It could be only your target sees the message, or it could be a message that the whole town sees. Maybe you can set a personal message that only the person sees and a different message that the town can see. Also, Let the person/town see the message even if they survive the attack. Then they can use whatever information against you or in their defense.

Think of an anonymous message to your target as saying something to them right before you pull the trigger and an anonymous message to the town as a note you left on your target's corpse.

This shouldn't just be limited to SKs though. A vig could try to justify their kills to the town without outing themselves. A jailor can already tell his target why he's executing his target but could still make use of the anonymous message to the town. The Mafia could taunt and try to mislead the town via kill messages. Come on, What mafia doesn't want to quote Ezekiel 25:17 to everyone he's about to kill. Say "what?" Again MFer!

I disagree with the surviving part though. People don't see last wills till the person is actually DEAD, so same should be said for the target note. Only showed when the target actually dies. Then the SK sits around, write a note, and put it on the corpse.

Only issue I can think of is that it's not quite realistic.. it's like communicating with the dead, in a way. So, to fix that, the town should see it too, like a note on the corpse reveal-able to anyone. Along the way, the dead can see it too.

Kinda rambling haha. This is certainly an original idea to me though.

Well, he was throwing out a lot of thoughts.

I disagreed with that part. Overall, it's pretty good.

I was throwing out different ideas. I think being able to survive the attack and still get the message that was originally intended to be heard only during the victim's death is the part that adds to the gameplay. Just sending a message to a dead person doesn't really add anything except some out of character socializing.

As for realism, I think it fits. You say something before you pull the trigger and the victim takes it to their grave or gets saved and can tell everyone what the killer said. As for a public message still being seen if the person is saved fits too. You kill the guy, drop the note on his corpse and walk out. The doctor then runs in and saves them and finds the note. Maybe only the sheriff, detective and investigator would see it since they're collecting crime scene evidence.

edit: However if the killer is killed in a duel by a bodyguard he wouldn't have the chance to say anything to the victim or leave a note for the town.

But i'd vote against it.
Honestly i don't want to see what is mostly impersonal made personal because of those notes.

Otherwise everytime i'm killed by the mafia, i'll get something horribel to read like "Suck it down punk mutherfucker", or something equally degrading.

Its a nice idea, but i feel it'll be abusive far far FAR more then it'd be helpful.
And lets face it, on a public server, it is going to be abused every time.
