Also, Tim Wise brought up a great point in one of his lectures about racism. He said that racism is a tool used by rich capitalists in America (I.e the right wing) to make sure that poor whites "categorize themselves" as being closer to rich whites than poor blacks. When you've categorized yourself closer to rich whites than poor blacks, you're more likely to endorse companies owned by whites, more likely to vote for whites, and more likely to overextend your finances in order to seem more like rich whites than you really are.

The infraction was from Yayap. I thought it was a troll at first, but I've sent him numerous PMs asking if he was serious about it and he has yet to respond 6 hours later even though he's been on since, so I'm just assuming it's legit.

Because the last time I argued with a mod, even respectfully, I got fucking banned for 24 hours.
If I end up banned because of a circlejerk thread then whoever bans me will have even less of a leg to stand on.

I know why I got banned for the last thread... I still disagree with it, but Akira and I have kind of decided to agree to disagree on it and I'm OK with it.
This is different, I'm coming at this from a different angle. I'm not trying to incite a riot, I'm just letting everyone know of the situation at hand. I feel like we all need to deal with this situation as a community, so I feel community discussion is the best way to do that. Since the infraction was served to me, then I feel how it gets handled is my decision to make.

Well, I'm not sure why Yayap gave you infractions when you posted in circlejerk but to be honest, it's not that big of a deal. Let's look at the big picture: why would someone complain about that thread?
Because they are a racist. Period.
What's the point of moderating anything at all?
So people don't get their feelings hurt? So that we can maintain some sort of "moral code"?
Calling people the N word is an insult. Using the word at all is an insult and by any stretch of the imagination totally morally devoid.
If you had actually thought about the situation instead of just bending to the will of a whiner, you may have realized this. Your actions show that you did not, in fact, consider the situation in its entirety, nor how you giving me an infraction was completely ironic and irrational while looking at the big picture.

But yeah, you go ahead and continue to moderate that way. Small picture stuff. Cater to racists and bigots who whine about being called out and complain even though their words hurt just as much. We'll see how far the community gets when other mods take that approach, too, because it's easier.

I explained why I'm doing what I'm doing. I specifically said that it's not to bitch or moan about it, but to get community feedback. It's not to incite any type of negative feelings whatsoever, but rather to have a public forum where we can dissect and discuss the matter. I was very explicit about that.

I'm not necessarily looking for removal or reversal.
I'm looking for explanation and understanding.
I want to know WHY I got it - I understand that "PROFANTY IS BAD MKAY" but in Circlejerk, which was born out of the depths of the bowel of the internet which is made of tiny atoms formed by use of the word fuck and pictures of naked women?
That's the part I don't get.
