They recognize that if they get caught doing it they are going to get ticketed for it. Yet no protests or freaking out about it.
Masks were largely politicized because of Trump's refusal to wear one, and how he made fun of others (like Biden) for wearing one.

However, Trump doesn't, and in fact, can't drive. Therefore he can't have a stance on texting and driving, hence it doesn't become politicized by his cultists.

There were totally tons of Americans that took significant issue with being given tickets for not wearing a seat belt. I really don't care about masks one way or the other but I do think its 100% fucked to demand someone wears a seat belt or has to pay some stupid tax. The function of the government is justified when it protects people from other people but it is in no way justified in protecting people from themselves out of obligation.

And please keep your politics local.
You're thinking too small-picture with the seat belts. If someone in a car isn't wearing a seat belt, they can become a projectile and fuck other people in the car up. People not wearing seatbelts also costs hospitals much more because they get fucked up more in accidents, which ends up costing the public more, especially in countries with a functional healthcare system.

Daily reminder that if Trump hadn't politicized wearing masks for no reason then many tens of thousands of Americans wouldn't have died
