Not sure if this is a bug or intended but I just had a game where 2 players were able to vote a player for trial with 4 players remaining.
I have never seen that happen before so I thought I'd let you guys know. There was a stump in the game if that means anything.
Here is SS and replay:

If the result of the autopsy is anonymously revealed with a limit, I think it would still be ok for coroner to stay town investigative. IMO, just make the coroner OP. Coroner is likely the most least represented town role and people seem to always leave when they see coroner saves. Also, I have never won with coroner .

I have a 360 controller and 2 logitech controllers.
I personally like the 360 controller because I am more familiar with the console.
Here are the links to what I have:

This way, you retain all of your previous points.
My previous college De Anza charges student 10 cents each paper.
That is the case when printer cost >= ink cost, around 800-1000 paper per year.
Damn bro, I went to Drexel University and they also charged 10 cent per print. I never went inside, but I was also told that they charged about $20 to enter their cafeteria. It's real bullshit. Anyways, I transferred out of there and now have free printing at school.

I also use the printers available at school.
The only time I use my home printer is when I need something immediately. It's rarely used, and the last time I bought ink for it costed (I believe) $23.

Nice links/videos Louis.
You know what, everything you said made sense. Thanks for the nice response. When I was over in Detroit for a year, an old man I talked to once said, "Everyone knows the rules, but the smart ones know how to abuse it." I'm not sure if he stole that from someone, but I always remembered it.
I actually just re-watched The Dark Knight for the first time in like 4 years and was thinking about Harvey Dent when I was making this post. I'm not a movie person, but that movie was pretty powerful.
My friend linked me the credentials of his cousin's lawyer and it looks impressive: https://www.stroock.com/sitecontent.cfm?contentID=49&itemID=366
Cryptonic, my friend did mention that his cousin's clients were going to get rounded up. That's pretty awful that this guy is like a scam artist.

Recently, my friend's cousin was sued by the USA for abusing the Asylum Process. Here is the link of the case:
https://www.justice.gov/usao/nys/pressreleases/December12/AsylumFraudChargesPR/Wang,%20John%20et%20al%20Indictment.pdf
His cousin is a lawyer who would defend Chinese immigrants who were facing deportation by claiming that China was inhumane and uncivilized. Doing so, would allow these immigrants (without green cards) to live in the US. According to my friend, this is known as the Asylum Process. His cousin (the lawyer) would fabricate a story in court by stating that China forced abortions on his clients or forced his clients to work hours of intense labour (mainly abortions though). This of course, was never true. He was apparently making over $10,000 per client by doing this and often bragged to my friend about this. This man is 32 years old and has a wife and children.
Anyways, if you clicked the link, you would see that there are four different people here being sued for abusing the same thing. However, all of them except the cousin, were sentenced to at least 2 years in jail. The judge gave the cousin 6 months of probation and house arrest because he deemed him too young and reckless. According to my friend, the cousin was bragging about his big-shot lawyer that he hired and that was why he got a lighter sentence.
So my question here is: Do you think that there is a double standard for this guy and do you think he should had gotten more of a penalty? After all, this man is a lawyer, perhaps the epitome of justice. Even if you disagree with that, a lawyer is trained to know the law. He clearly knew what he was doing when he broke the law. Does anyone feel like there is a stereotype that all lawyers are more interested in greed than protecting their clients?

Do you honestly get offended when someone makes a derogatory comment towards your ephemeral looks? That is to say- if someone were to judge you based on your appearance and make a negative opinion, do you lack the self-esteem to take it to heart? >:-)

I'm not offended at all. Sure, I'll defend myself but it's something I wake up the next morning forgetting. To quote Randy Travis from that episode of King of the Hill, "That's just the way God made me." But really, this almost never happens to me.

Have you ever thought: 'damn that person is ugly'.
To be honest, I do this with women all the time. I'm surprised no one else had this response.
Have you ever told that to the person?

A few times. I've also called people "fat" and "America's problem", if we allow ugly to equal obesity.

Have you ever been on the receiving end?
Of course.

How was your experience?
I remember when I was about 17, I went out with a chubby black girl. Then I started going out with a much thinner white girl. When the three of us met, it was pretty nasty. She just threw horrible insults calling me a twig boy and other racial things. Rest assured, I got defensive and threw back insults.
I also remember playing MW2 with friends online. I sucked hard and they all let me know it. It was pretty relentless to the point where I'm traumatized by any FPS game. I'm just kidding, but I really do avoid FPS games because I'm bad at them.
I actually broke up with my girlfriend because she called me while I was playing online poker (I was tilting of course). I don't really remember what it was about but I do remember myself yelling at her through the phone to the point where she was crying. It was a really stormy night.

What would be, in your opinion, the most mature way to handle such a situation?
I think that the most mature way to handle this situation is to just let it slide without letting the situation get out of hand. Don't waste your precious time arguing with some kid. Growing up means understanding that people are different and accepting these differences is what makes you an adult. Ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish by playing at their level. Stand up when you need to stand up and walk away when you need to walk away. Being the better man means not allowing your emotions to get the best of you. People are going to say things that they regret in the morning so just grit your teeth and take the punch knowing that you are more noble by doing so.

This is a pretty old thread.
Let me try a few math puzzles that I have heard a few years ago:
1.) Two men enter a class reunion: Joe and John.
A conversation ensues.
Joe: Hi John.
John: Hey Joe.
Joe: Have you heard that I have 3 kids now?
John: Oh, how old are they?
Joe: Since you were always so good in math, let me put it this way: The product of their age is 36 and the sum of their age is your favorite number.
John: I don't think that's enough information to answer your question.
Joe: Well the oldest has blue eyes.
What are the ages of Joe's kids? What is John's favorite number?
2.) 1-2+3-4....=1/4
How is this possible?

Randomness has always been a core part of party mafia. While I can understand how you feel, I think there is an element of excitement during those few seconds before we see our roles. It's like opening a Happy Meal when you're a kid: sometimes you're pissed that you got a Barbie toy, sometimes you're ecstatic for getting a Transformer toy. People who have -prefer have obviously played a crap ton of games and, therefore, I think it's fitting that they can have a role preference as they have likely played every role anyway. And even if you donated money for points, that's cool too because you are supporting someone who spent hours/days/months on a game you enjoy playing.
Louiswill, that mentality that you provided is so true. I know people in WoW who would play the entire night to grind out an achievement worth like 20 points. I know a guy who plays League of Legends against bots all day just to farm IP. When I was a kid, I would play Final Fantasy games for hours and ensure I had fully completed the game (except Ozma in FF9, I never defeated him).

Hey! I like Lawless because the games end really fast! If it gets turned into setup of the day, I'd have no complaints.
Chicago may be a little imbalanced, but as RLVG, it's more suited for experienced players.

I also think that it's very town-favored. 2 powers 1 killing 1 government is outrageous. By the way, based on what I'm seeing so far, there's about a 30% chance for a any random to be an neutral evil.

This thread was posted in the mafia discussion forum, so I won't talk about FM. I love FM, but with time constraints and commitment, I don't have time for it anymore.
After Raptorblaze posted the thread about the "Nuclear Option". I remember seeing at least three different people saying stuff like, "Are you guys getting kicked from the game? Because this is my fifth try and I keep getting dropped." Getting dropped five times from a game is no coincidence, so I directed him to the sc2mafia.com and addressed him to the Nuclear Option. The poor guy had problems maneuvering around the site and even sent me PM's about what to do. Unfortunately, I was in-game and couldn't see his messages. My point is that this should have been addressed on the loading screen (which still isn't). It's inevitable to see a decrease in newcomers after the Nuclear Option, and the loading screen isn't helping. People often ask, "how do I report people?" and, despite knowing about the website, they still seem lost.
Suggestive Solutions:
Not to criticize the genius of DR, but why is Landstander.info bigger and in gold characters as opposed to sc2mafia.com being in grey? I visit Landstander.info every so often expecting to see something important but end up disappointed every time.
What you could do is have something like: Visit Sc2.mafia.com for tips, advice, math help, patch notes, other games, reporting players, and circle jerking. I think providing patch notes is a very good start on promoting the website. For example, I don't play much of Starcraft II and League of Legends anymore. But when I see patch notes, I may still log in and contribute with a post.
As Helz suggested, I think promoting Slaol's MVP corner would also boost website traffic. Have something like: SUBMIT YOUR REPLAYS IN SLAOL'S MVP CORNER AND WIN POINTS AND A STEAM GAME COURTESY OF HELZ on the loading screen would definitely help. I'm sure there are games everyday that are worthy of praise and people want that pat on the back for a good game, they just don't know where to go.
I think that you guys should remove the requirement to log in to see reported players. I remember when I wasn't really into this forum, I would occasionally peer at the reported players to see if I was going to get banned after someone reported me. It's just a nuisance to have to log in and check, and might sound small, but I don't see a real benefit for requiring a login to be able to see reported players. After all, I have to login to even see how to report players. This may discourage new people by having them say "F This" as I did when Google required an account to make a playlist on Youtube. The only thing I can think of is that you guys are saying, "Hey don't report someone UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT TO REPORT THEM".
Louiswill said something very interesting about how newcomers don't have hearty confidence and that suggestions are turned down and given negative reputation. I think there is a lot of truth in this and in the things he said. I think you guys should completely abolish negative rep or at least show some constraint in it. Negative reputation is like saying "shut up and be quiet your opinions are crap". Dunno, I just feel like this is incredibly demoralizing to any poster.
Anyways these are my thoughts on it. I'm very happy to read everyone else's thoughts as well. I do believe that there are a lot of people who play this game but don't visit the website. However, most of the regulars who play this game are already on this website. I think that the original intent of the website was for a tight-knit community, otherwise you wouldn't have called it sc2mafia.com.

Variant: Rise of the Triad
With the Serial Killer dead at NIGHT 1 and all of the Triads are DEAD at DAY 3, it seems pretty much a set-and-match game for the Town. However, when the Town lynches and realizes that there is a cult among them, who can trust who?
This replay features a cult (me) who was alone for the almost the entire game against a fairly intelligent town.
Please watch the replay with my POV at hotkey: 8 (Take).
Enjoy~!~

The text on citizen should say that it also wins ties against triad. I just had a crazy game where the triad lost to citizen.
-Helz Edit
Consolidated list:
Unlock numbers on hats and skins are all outdated. Should be removed or corrected
Janitor and Incense Master role description under Crimes it says "Distruction of Property" instead of "Destruction of Property"
The "How to Play" talks of "Tutorial" but the tutorial was removed ages ago.
Odd. From my experience (and own stats), before the Triad update, the Mafia and the Town had about the same ammount of wins.
Sen, I'm pretty sure your stats were the ones that inspired me to do this. I think it'd average out pretty quickly if I had more data.

Hey guys.
Ever since someone linked me the win % of Mafia alignments, I decided to start my own stats since I didn't think that the ones he linked me were updated. Unfortunately, there are only 32 games played. I wanted to wait until I had at least 100 games but with the unexpected introduction of Triads, I thought it would be best to submit what I had. It was something I did on a whim so it's not very informative. Also, I only saved games that included at least: 1 town, 1 mafia, 1 neutral kill, 1 neutral evil, 1 neutral benign.
Here are the percentages that I have:
Town -- 17 Wins -- 53%
Mafia -- 7 Wins -- 22%
N. Kill -- 4 Wins -- 13%
N. Evil -- 3 Wins -- 9%
N. Benign -- 7 wins --22%
Games Played: 32
NOTE: double benign shares wins.
Again, I apologize for the lack of games. I don't think we'll ever see this type of variant ever again with Triad. I'm not sure if I want to keep stats again but I was always curious about win %'s. Maybe I'll keep track of Triad games, but it might be too early to try since everyone's learning the roles and new variants.
PS: I'm going to just link my replay list here because I know I'm not a reliable source. Feel free to play detective if you care enough to double check. I'll have you know that there are a few games (maybe 1-2) that I saved and wanted to keep personally for my records (and too lazy to make a copy), so you may see a couple missing replays.

Well since everyone's pulling their votes, I'm just going to vote Appley's setup to fill the gap and because he's a nice guy.

Long as it's not sexually explicit I wouldn't mind taking down ad-block for this site. I wouldn't mind if I say MEET KOREAN SINGLES TODAY. I wouldn't mind seeing ads for the Stormfront either (JK).

This is nothing new. I think it's just people wanting to vent out their frustration than anything else.

Cool idea. Just curious, did the new robo-cop movie give you the idea of a cyborg?

Wow, so you can lose points if you leave games?
Banned all the smurfs that voted, for the record the original votes list was
Barracks Obamer, drtjdfgjdfgj, dyedfire, Fucking, GayCIA, Im Jesse Ventura, kyle1234513, Landstanders ghost, Mafia is dead, Michael Morhaime, Missile, Nine Eleven, PeachCobbler, Ross Mandell
for 1, which is still displayed, of those the people who were not obvious smurfs were dyedfire (owner of at least 7 of those smurfs), kyle1234513, PeachCobbler
Edited vote count accordingly, though i cannot edit the names list.
Wow someone really hates the staff for someone to do something like that.

It'd be nice if the roles all sounded realistic IMO.
I thought the same exact thing as what Mugy7 said about witches and witch doctors.

Cool role, I think should be a neutral benign.
Maybe the goal should be that your target must survive the game though.

Okay as the title says, I was on trial as a marshall. They asked me for my role. I told them that I was marshall but could not reveal myself because I was on trial. They didn't believe me, so they lynched me. After seeing my role, the town got pissed and said troll/reported.
This happened a few months ago, and I do not have a replay of it.
Just curious if this is intended or not.
thats a good way to catch those cheaters they dont even know you watching and then BAM Ban hammer comes a swingin
I'm no moderator, but I don't think that moderators go incognito just to ban people. I mean, writing a report is actually pretty time consuming (I think so anyways). I'm sure they have their reasons but I think that the main reason that mods don't reveal themselves is so that they could actually play the game? I mean people seem to play FIND THE MOD instead of the actual game.
Based on my experience, when a mod reveals themselves they seem to become like (forgive the shitty analogy) Miley Cyrus in a zombie apocalypse movie. People hate her and people love her. Suddenly, it's either a manhunt to find and kill her or a mission to protect her at all cost despite her being so damn evil. There seems to be a myth that donations = moderator. I'm pretty sure this isn't true and I don't know why people keep saying this, but people seemingly hate the idea of people donating money for power and will kill a moderator for this.
I also think moderators should reveal themselves more often, but if they don't want to encounter some power-hungry jailor night 1, they shouldn't reveal. I personally think it's really fun for a moderator to interact with the peons in the public games. Gives the game a change of pace and some excitement (IMO) and some fun in trying to find who's the moderator. Don't be like a Chansey in the safari zone! Mods step out!
We should start a post about mod experiences when they reveal themselves, and their survival rates. How is the hate/love ratio?

I think it depends on the save really.
Also, I won't deny that I would also do a random killing if I had 3 executions. IMO sometimes the trolls can be more damaging to the town if they are left alive. If i had only 2 executions on the other hand, I am likely to reconsider. I think 2 executions is good enough to prevent random executions, don't really know though.
This role seems so powerful, most of the games I look back at where I was a town and lost I could see myself have winning if I had a sure-fire confirmation of just one person's role, even if that did mean an extra confirmed town suicide if and when that person I wanted to know the role of dies.
Because once you know one role, all the other roles and people seem to click into place. That's why often the town will lynch one other town and then go on this lynching spree of evils and win the game. That initial chaos is all the scum really have that they can hide behind until the town see through the mist and start killing them.
This is why you'll notice most games evils win are "burst games" where loads of people die at the start. The longer the game, the less chaos, and the less chance the evil has of winning
Yeah I think it should be powerful and I agree with every single thing that you said about how games just tend to snowball. It's just that town powers lately have been full of roles that are "auto confirmed town", and I just thought that there should be a role that doesn't do this. I mean with the exception of jailor (arguably), all the other roles pretty much are confirmed town without any consequence.
the non-visit roles are mostly people that the town don't mind lynching. Detective/lookout find a gf cit claim easier. And it just seems really contrary to what a psych does.
So it doesn't seem Op in that regard, but public reveal makes someone a healable mayor with no extra votes
how about nix public reveal, but she can choose to know targets exact role. If she does she's silenced until next night, and her target knows who the psych is, and the ability can only be used a couple of times.
Oh cool. That's a really good idea. Maybe remove their vote too since if they find a mafia, they'll be bound to spam someones name?
