I have not played instant mafia.
However, since it was pitched to me as a game to help newer players scum hunt and really relying on day interactions, I figured that would be my role this game. To help town scum hunt, and hopefully "train" some future sc2mafia FM players.
And really this came about because I have a 4 day weekend ^.6
Gotta love the "put at least 2 charcters" huh?
About the juicy hypocrisy... Rawr. I am just trying to change my playstyle. And you're very aggressive. I am not OVERLY concerned about this, we just keep talking about it because it feeds the discussion ^^ else it'd be a dead game.
How have you created successful Day 1's in the past?
I assume this is directed at me.
Typically for me. What I like to utilize is different types of reaction testing.
For example. You know SCVmuderer? Well, I got in a very vicious round of back and forth with him, as a means to put his back up against a wall and put myself in the dominant position. I did this in two fold reasons. 1. I wanted to see where he would buckle and where he would fight back. 2. I wanted him to become a viable easy lynch target to the rest of the town to see who would jump on his train asap. I.e. Low hanging fruit. (scum will utilize low hanging fruit to get easy ML's). This was successful a tiny bit because it got him to shut down, (he was scum). And it allowed me to focus on a second thing I utilize from time to time.
It's a list of 6ish questions. It's called an RQS or RQP (Random Question Survey, or Random Question Phase) in which I ask certain things to gauge different things. Scv actually used it in the last instant mafia game. A couple of the questions are designed to create a psychological break within you. For example the question: "What role/faction do you like to play in mafia?" Some people will answer in a way that attempts to get the reader to see them as town. For example, Nawa that game answered something like "town ofc" which really piqued my interest. He said "ofc" meaning OF COURSE I love being town, because I am town, and you should only read me as town. This little tidbit allowed me to hone in on him, and compare that whole "towny" thing to other aspects of his day one play, which allowed me to successfully lead a lynch on him, and he was SK.
Also, might I add, we had two trains that day, 1 on sk and 1 on a mafia scum member.
For me and really for everyone, day 1 is really a good day to see people's personalities. I typically find those who push a lot on day 1 and are super active in asking questions, leading discussion, and pointing out things, typically are town. Those who try to lurk, or only be active for short periods of time, often times turn out to be scum. Now, unfortunately this site has a lurker problem with a lot of the players, and that alignment split with lurkers tends to be off as of late because we have people who join games and are town and just never participate.
Guess what?Donki butts
I am back and gonna answer everything.
First of all, i am Citizen.
Finger-pointing at someone hoping he won't be a Mayor or Mason is just silly, so i can say i believe blink.

Read through S-FM Undercover, where PTB correctly pegged, and lynched the Serial Killer (Nawa) on day 1.
This is what I'm talking about here. MM didn't think this through.
also nawa this first post is scummy
that was sarcasm don't take it seriously

Thank you, I'm blink btw, I believe this is our first time meeting?
PTB has taken town leader in such an aggro form. For someone who claimed Citizen, there's no actual scum hunting... More harping.
To claim blink could potentially be scum is quite the scape goat imo, I mean, he's blink, he's a nub, hasn't played a FM yet and throwing shade on the mod players is always the way to go.
I don't like stealths opening, kinda seemed like he was trying to coach someone into claiming a tpr... hmm
I take town leader every game I play. What's curious to me is that you typically sheep me. This game you're trying to put a lot of attention on me...which is weird.
Perhaps, you're not town this game? You haven't really posted anything, and what you have posted is....eh. Not pro-town at all.
The notion that someone could or couldn't be a certain alignment based on where they came from is ridiculous.
I am not accusing anyone of being or not being scum. I'm simply stating that it is POSSIBLE for them to be scum, and let's not just go SHEEPING them.
A healthy bit of skepticism is not anti town.
Wha'ts anti town is coming in here pointing fingers and disappearing.
Mesk if you're so prooooo town whats your role then?
So we got some citizen claims, I'd love to know how many possible cits there could be
blink
nawa
Exactly, but I know I have a teammate.
So your role card said you're a solo mason?
You run this section and you reasonably expect all of us to believe that you'd hire someone who would have such an imbalanced/fucked set up to have a SOLO mason in the game without any night action or ability to recruit a citizen? So why not make that solo mason a citizen? Why not claim citizen?
Exactly, because you don't wanna give up your teammate and seem more like a scum duo.
I'm Mason 1 in our private chat. My teammate is Mason 2.
We can reveal to each other in day chat, but not in our private chat.
Nice try mesk.
hence MASON 1 and MASON 2.
I told my teammate I was gonna reveal in day chat.
Thats why I asked if there could be sheriff and citi and masons. Seems like theres no mayor.
LOL so they put 1 mason in to "cc" mason claims, but yet all of a sudden you can claim but no one could claim before?
Host confirmed means host does not send us our teammates in a pm therefore completely confirming.
We're also not allowed to ask each other's names in the private chat.
We can do it in day chat from my understanding
