This is a thread to discuss the latest episode of Awake. If you have no seen this episode then please do not continue reading as there will be many spoilers.
So Awake has been getting publicity for being interesting, new, different, and intense. This episode was pretty solid, but not as good as the pilot. I enjoyed that they keep using the main plot focus of him being in two different realities helping each other out. The fabric softner and the motorcycle were both awesome. What surprised me the most is that I thought this show would be what it's about now and it's already slipping away from that by adding this conspiracy element to it at the end. I can't say it's going to work or not work because I haven't seen it yet, but I felt as though it was unnecessary. The way his realities are trying to tie things together with the "little guy" and the "611" (Two times in pilot and the tall guy was 6'11") we're slowly starting to understand with Michael what happened that night.
The best part of the entire show is the way it's filmed though. With the different filters and tones for each reality. In this episode they took it a step further to add in red and green items everywhere and they change depending on which reality he's in. This seems to be a directors choice, but it's been somewhat consistent so far. Jason Issacs is amazing so far too. He's exactly the kind of guy you want in a show like this. Just like Tim Roth was 100% perfect for Lie to Me Lucius Malfoy is great for playing this character.
According to people who have seen the first 4 episodes through promotional releases the next two are supposedly better than even the pilot. It was hinted that Michael tries to take a bunch of pills to knock himself out to go and save his son. These are the types of things that will make this show extremely likable. I can only hope NBC doesn't have anything lined up for this spot because Awake is something that needs time to grow and people to talk about it.
