I believe the 'Shades' ability activates in the OoO where the vest/autovest takes place (position 3), so It would occur before the doctrine (position 8). Trumans ability does not appear to have the capacity to most stop heat actions, only regular ones.

Odd how you would miss that when you seem to understand the towns abilities pretty well; at least well enough for strategies. One of those 'you are focusing more on the enemies abilities/strategies more than your own?' due to that is what your "threat" would be? Addressing the n00bs hoping 1 of them is spy and outs themself early as well could be another motive for you bringing that up.. But seeing a GF able to RB all town for 1 night is a pretty obvious ability..

In the mod Day One Survivor claims are always sketchy not sure how they RN FM but the Survivor can actually prove he's a survivor so a day one claimed I'm more inclined to believe so I'm expecting a reveal of sorts

of course. but to be fair it did make sense to me when I first read it, went and double checked the setup before commenting though. and I feel that someone who has hosted FM games and played as many games as you have would probably double checked a setup (especially with noobs in it) before asking for a potential reveal of the towns most powerful role confirmed role.

and this was more related to what I did personally. The first thing I did when he suggested that strategy is go and look at the scum team to see if they would be able to counter it. I just find it odd that he mentioned such a (potentially lethal) strategy for the town immediately. I understand scum hunting as well, but I just have an off feeling about that.

honestly i believe the claim. I mean if nothing else comes before day 1, we can ask him to freeze all votes and reveal. If he isnt able to do that he becomes the days lynch.

In an FM game, it would be almost dumb to claim survivor if you weren’t one. You’d be relying hard on having the real survivor go along with your plan, and then not retract it in the future if they went under suspicion.

I also see the Survivors ability more Anti-Town than Pro-Town. I see it becoming a problem in a 4town vs 3scum (or 3v2 ect ect) vote where the survivor can freeze it all and buy the scum 1 additional night. because nights help scum, days help town.

So I think having him reveal that ability at the end of today, and then sending him hot chocolate every morning to side with town would be a good way to do it.

I can still miss a detail or two, beside it does promote players to actually read the setup rather than blindly agree.
