How to be good at S-FM

NOTE: this is in no way a guide to playing the game. This is essentially a shitpost, although it may contain occasional tidbits of good information do not take it as the end all be all. If you want a guide, head over to the FM section.

Prove your point in a clear and concise manner. Extra words can confuse the audience and distort your meaning; make sure every word in your phrasing’s have a clear and concise meaning.

“there’s a chance that nawa is scum, his actions are similar to those in the last game in which he was scum and I believe we should lynch him”
    vs
“meta dictates we should lynch the scum nawa”

Utilize loaded terms that carry a lot of impact with them

“clearly, we should lynch this despicable liar that has conned us; Marshmallow Marshall is controlling the lynches but hasn’t even role claimed”

Incorporate reasoning:the human brain, even if only unconsciously, is more likely to agree to something if a reason is provided, no matter how obvious said reason

    “Lynch Hybrid”
    Vs
“lynch Hybrid, because his actions are scummy

Present evidence in sequences of three to give a more full sense and strength to your reasoning

“Scvmurderer’s words in post 86 and 47 are indicative of alignment with boxerebellion who flipped scum, he sheeps votes without reasoning, and he ended day early to stop town from gaining information, so I conclude we should lynch him”

Understand the audience: know who you are appealing to. Strategies employed will carry different weights depending on who you are addressing; word your sentences to deliver impact

“PIayer, can you not see that we need to lynch stealthbomber16? Go check out posts 16 and 287, or run an iso on him, he’s clearly an evil”

Do not use vague references like “maybe”, “I think”, or “I believe”; your words must carry the point across

“I hope you all realize that by this point, superjack is scum confirmed. We NEED to lynch him, or put a bullet through his head”

Utilize AtE and ethos strategies: appeal to your audience’s emotions and ask them if it’s the ethical thing to do while establishing your own credibility

“would you really believe his sheriff claim over mine? I want to get my first town win and keep my not-getting-lymched streak; I claimed first anyway, his CC is clearly scum”

Present an alternative: deflect the train from you/your peer to someone else, even if only temporarily

“how about this: you’ll lynch him today and if he flips town, kill me in the night or lynch me tomorrow. Easy.”

Address a counter argument and attept to disprove what the train is saying, by offerring an instance that does not line up

“although Spruance was quite scummy on occasion, his posts at 6 and 73 seem pretty townie to me; I’d like to draw your attention to the lurking iced_monopoly, the better lynch for today”

    Spoiler : or... :

Be mesk, and say “I am town” first post
Instant clique of followers that will sheep you for the rest of the game
