Firstly, I've been operating under the theory that Hybrid/MM are not scum together since their initial reaction at day 1 start.

I felt like MM sucked up to Hybrid too much at daystart and he gave into his positions too easily. That wouldn't be bad in and of itself - might just see Hybrid as some kind of town godking. But completely ditching his Hybrid townread when Hybrid flipflopped on SJ's train felt like too much. Bear in mind, MM had Hybrid as the hardest of hard townreads.

And, given that they're friends, I would have expected MM to understand that the SJ flipflop was more likely down to one of Hybrid's extravagances - as there was little scum motivation to flipflop like that. Hybrid's tone, even while voting SJ, implied he didn't actually scumread SJ and was trying to encourage him to give a good defense.

Hybrid's sense of self-importance also excused him for the way he acted with his vote during the first 24 hours, imo.
