If its not then moderators will finally have to work. Lol. That shit would suck

I would think a 'reference' badge could be a good idea to motivate people to draw their friends to the site. It would be kinda painful to really keep track of that and prevent people from exploiting it though.
Intellectual growth comes from discussions, not arguments. If you are unwilling to change your position and hear the other persons side you are closed minded and wasting your time.
If you can not clearly explain what the other sides reasoning is you can not disagree with their position because you do not understand it.

Yea, it would be difficult. So many people screw with referral system for anon accounts, smurfs, ect lol. Although, it's not like an award is so important that it really matters that we look into it so deeply.

I agree. Hopefully we could pull some new blood to the site from it

Yeah... the referral system needs some work honestly and is prone to manipulation right now. Quality over quantity for sure, and the people actually need to stay vs. being used to up one's count. It's definitely something that we should incentivize, but we've had problems in the past with how to avoid loopholes in terms of whatever contest / prize is established. Obviously, there can be a bright line rule against referring one's own smurf, but it's not helpful if the referred person makes an account here, never to return, just so the referrer gets another point toward a prize or award.

We can just implement a rule against abuse of referral system if we decide to add an award for it.

$250 if the person stays active in the forum for 3 months. Another $250 if they stay active for six.
