Stupidest Reason You Got Lynched

Let me hear it guys.

We all been there, you think sometimes. Why in the hell did I get lynched? Town never accused me of anything in particular but I just got lynched for X. Sometimes they have some quasi reasoning behind it that makes sense to them.
In the end though it is just random lynching.

Not saying random lynching is good or bad. Sometimes it can be beneficial to town, but most of the time it isn't.

Note: This is when you lynch someone even when they give you plenty of reasons not to, not when they go on trial and provide no role or info to help deter town.

I had a game this morning where I almost got lynched for having a colored name. No actual leads were on me (I actually happened to be Godfather) but Mayor reasoned that because (Me) having a colored name proved that I would be evil because players with higher points use blacklist to prevent gettting town roles [Which could be true, but wasn't since I don't use blacklist or prefer]

I was a Jester and I wanted to try out the achievement to kill everyone, which somehow worked.

So I was playing the Sheriff and I managed to find 2 Mafia out of sheer luck, was attacked and healed twice.
Last Mafia got killed by Veteran and the Doctor got killed by SK. 1v1v1.
How did I get lynched?

Because I was actually the Bus Driver concealing evidence from everyone and deserved to get lynched for being anti-town, no one claimed bussed and I was lynched by the SK & Veteran. I was seen as a liar for calling myself a Sheriff and I stood by my claim.

SK jumped on Vet, Vet died by Jester.

GJ SK & Veteran, you're the smartest. Bravo. 11/10. Was ages ago, think some of the members here witnessed it back in EU.
Think it was one of those with cyan colored names.

I had a game where I was Vigilante and witch found me night one by controlling me and making me kill a player. I tell the town this hoping I could get either a escort blocking me from killing or possibly mafia shutting me down.

Town lynched me because I "killed a player" making me "obviously evil"

Those are all some nice stories and stuff but the stupidest reason to get lynched is just for being in the game. Ooh you just revealed yourself as mayor? Well, you entered this game so we are going to lynch you anyway.

Like for instance, having killed blackmailer as vet (and then being silenced the next day), only to have town vote me to trial for spam voting to indicate that I'm blackmailed, and then hear logic like "you can't be blackmailed, vet killed blackmailer". RIP in pieces.

Also, any time I am a neutral evil or neutral killing role and I'm lynched due to fail logic. "I rb'd him and no GF kill", even though GF is immune to rb in the setup and I die but I'm auditor. Sigh.

This game sucks.

Reminds me of one game where I was vet and blackmailed, and the BM was healed. Next day he was like "Thanks doc!" but there was a SK and a Mafia kill... So I tried to vote him, but they wouldn't follow my lead. Just kept voting and unvoting. Next night, GF tried to kill me (idk why, guess for voting the BM and BM didn't tell GF I was vet?), and then next day I wasn't silenced and tried to lynch BM and town only said to me
"You can't find Mafia as Veteran...."

i think most people have no idea that when people visit vet their night actions actually do get applied, i.e vet IS blackmailed when blackmailer dies to him. People seem to think hes immune to everything when alerting.

I've blackmailed the mafia to help me get a jester win. I was an exe and my target was killed by a disguiser , so I pm'd my target to either help get me lynched or I would reveal him. So the guy actually convinced the town to vote me by telling them that I was the disguiser, and without any proof, claims over me (except that guy who lied about me being the disg) , the whole town just guilty'd me. It was precious :3.

I was in the game, I was half paying attention and was just voting with the Mayor lol. I thought someone else claimed the killing role.

To be fair, the game started with 15 people. 2 role quit on Night 1, moving the total down to 13, at which point it only took 7 people to put someone up to trial. The setup was a standard 9-3-3, subtracting out one Town and one Triad made it 8-2-3, with the Neutral Benign being an Executioner (eventually turned Jester) who was inclined to vote for stupid leads to get the Town into a mood to random. That's already 5 votes right there -- i.e. it would only take two stupid Townies to get SparkNuts on trial. It's often a game of inches and enough loud voices can persuade a couple of Townies to make stupid moves. Stuff like this makes the game fun when you are a Neutral role.

I had a hand in this as an SK. The town was really dumb that game : )

Another one : I played a game with a friend who is very good at finding me, turns out he was a spy and i was a doc.

He recognized my native language on the maf chat and had me lynched for that, dat clue.

Wow, that's pretty horrible. Unless the game setup was a Cult / Mason / Auditor oriented, the odds of three Masons would be very low and definitely worth taking a chance and lynching the first guy. These days, very few games end up with three Masons because people hate set role Citizens and it takes too long for an Auditor to audit a Townie followed by a Mason conversion (as opposed to a Cult conversion). Also, assuming there actually were Masons in the game, the real Masons would immediately counterclaim and vote the Consort guilty. Lastly, claiming that three different people are Masons / ML invites a counterclaim by any investigative role that had checked any of you three to that point.

I got someone lynched for having the name travolta.

I left a DN hint about who i was, "face off" (as in the movie, starring nicholas cage and john travolta). So town trialed and lynched the guy called travolta. The next day they trialed me cause my name was cage but i gave them a fake det lw and convinced them the mm was just screwing with them. Left deathnotes all game with fairly obvious 'hints' about who i was, ended up winning, fun times .
