    but to be more general on the idea of "how long is too long"

    IMO its dependent on setup. If you have a generic setup (ie maf/doc/sheriff basic stuff) then the deadline should be a short-medium (24-72). While if you have a complex setup (last FM was semi complex) we could argubly see a longer deadline (4-5 days)

    A lot of it to me is more based on setup and player count.

    While i do play week or more deadlines, a good medium i have found players liking are around 4-5 days.

    3 days is the amount that's pretty much the threshold where it begins to hurt. There's only so much you can say and you will reach a point where you just want new information.

    This came up in conversation regarding my Light Out M-FM, which has shifting anon accounts.

    That does not mean, however, that this poll should only reflect that setup.

    I agree with this.
    I also feel that you give town a massive advantage in situations like this. You keep pushing players for information for long enough, and eventually someone will slip. Make 1 day a week long, and chances are you'll see town win (excluding games with lurkers).

    This.

    I thought 2 day "days" in the last FM worked pretty well. The only thing that killed it was people intentionally not posting / participating.
