I close threads when one of four conditions occurs:
1) The majority of new posts are non-discussion and amount to post farming or spamming (there's two or three people who are almost always the cause of this)
2) The question posed in the topic has been answered.
3) The thread has been derailed.
4) The thread violated one of the rules by being posted.

As to the topic in question, no it's not an issue because literally no one except the two of you now has said it occurs. I've played several games of mafia since the update and never had any issues and so have many other people, it's significantly more likely that it is your own bad luck than anything else. I waited quite a while to see if there were any serious responses saying they had had similiar problems.

Every time I infract people they rage (See: Brendan, Xen, etc.) no matter how detailed I am about the reason. Also, there are certain people I can't infract who contribute to #1 and #3 and if I'm not going to infract everyone involved I'm not going to infract anyone and solve it some other way. Usually threads that violate #4 are deleted. There's only been 1 major instance so far.
