I would agree with you.
This only really works in a game like 75%+ Citizens, IMO.
Otherwise, it learns too much too quickly.

No, but it would tell you their precise investigative role. Like if you check a Sheriff and you get feedback that they person they targetted is Town, you know they are Sheriff.

I realized after seeing this role in action, it is definitely OP as it basically learns the target's role if they are investigative. Only way this worked is because majority of roles could be from 4-6 factions, so the role couldn't be 100% known (except roles like Sheriff).
I think a good way to implement this role is if it learns feedback that a player receives from another player. ie: Doused, Attacked & healed, Bused, Roleblocked, Silenced, received Items, ect. It wouldn't learn investigative feedback, or learn if a Doctor was successful.
Could become extra powerful if it could have the option to have a true detection, such as knowing a target is doused if dousing isn't informed, or Witching if uninformed. Or if a player is drugged with something, the Analyst would see they are drugged.
