I'll try and keep this briefish.
I've been thinking quite a bit about the past since Raiden and I spoke privately before his second departure, and I realized something as I result that I feel requires addressing before I sever ties.
Months ago, this community suffered a deathblow when two of it's most respected members departed for reasons that are not mine to say. As a result, the soul and direction that we as a collaboration of peers had ensured continued to be enforced on DR vanished, and everything splintered to pieces. And as such, the community I knew and loved died with it.
But instead of realizing the damage such a thing had caused at the time, I was too busy sitting aloof a pedestal of a false ideology; that my only due issuance towards the community was that I moderated in-game, not once even considering that my critique about reports being the sole focus of the moderator team at the time was an easy parallel to it. Instead of doing anything at all to ensure that the same quality of decision-making, of directing the focus of the mod team towards enriching the community to a point where community members wouldn't need to turn to trolling to feel some sense of belonging or as a cheap form of sustaining entertainment, I was far too caught up in the confrontational high that came easily to me at the time.
And because of that, I truly failed the community, for showing absolutely no positive initiative at all. So for anyone who had or has devoted as much time into this community as I have, who has felt obligated to follow the natural progression towards the travesty it is now, words simply cannot express how sorry I am.
And now, after finally realizing that returning to that great, intellectually driven community is one-hundred percent impossible, I think this time it's best if I follow Raiden's lead.

The power of WIFOM magic served you well, Ash. You're welcome.
So, if the neutrals can be taken at face value, that gives us 4 votes without red's help.
Humm... I know what my gut says but I guess I'll wait for Glip for the moment.
I do Night start. Sadly I have to host my own game EVERYTIME, to ensure I play a decent game.
Again, the simplest solution is to convince the people you play with that night start in jailor declared setups is more balanced and thus more fun as result. Make it the norm, and you won't have to worry about it anymore. Or just host the game, it's not a big deal.

Well, I'll vote for him, but consider the possibility that the Arsonist is a terrible semi-troll who intends to burn mafia but hits town instead tonight, there's a possibility that we can pull a lynch with creed's assistance all the way to a victory if we pick off the extra KPN, even if we lose majority by ourselves. But there isn't a chance that 1 town pulls a win when 3 of us might die tonight.

Yeah well, while I'm sure you have great stake in this game as the never-going-to-die survivor, there comes a point where you simply have to decide upon what the hell you believe, until you're proven wrong otherwise.

This is my second step into this sub-forum in general, and the politics of semi-trolls seems to be a bigger factor than it was last game. If I am "playing the noob", that would be why. I don't read games I don't participate in, so I'm sorry I ask questions.
Anyway, I'm voting MANgerine because I think it's likely he's hiding behind a wall of semi-trollishness and a bullshit amnesiac claim. If I was someone who was smart hiding behind a trollish persona a la Capitalier, that's how I'd play a role like the Arsonist, because much like the witch, no matter how scummy you look, there will always be those people who will always be looking for the more threatening target. Like I said before, I thought he and Brendan were both town yesterday, and everyone was missing the obvious(that Brendan was mason claiming citizen).
If he was amnesiac he would have stayed with a town PR claim and picked Mason Leader last night, no doubt in my mind at this point.
Oh and, I'm a known hypocrite, so while I am happy to take moral high ground in an attempt to inspire others to greatness, I will almost never aspire to do so myself, especially when almost every possible scum is immune and thus scumminess will likely never be attacked in these circumstances. Perhaps I'll finally survive until the endgame so I can do something for once.

You're so quick to white knight you don't even know what you're arguing about.
The idea to divide a game into smaller games that join up as the game progresses was a concept I discussed with vorn as a way to handle his multiple-island mechanic, instead of handling it by distance as he hypothesized in an old suggestion thread back in October. The participants were only semi-isolated though, I'll admit that complete isolation solved some issues I had with the concept.
The rest of what you said doesn't even warrant discussion, because like I said, you're just white knighting.
why so? I thought it was an ingenious way to scale down the amount of players. As it is some vaults have fare more pages than they should and this is only one little group. Not sure it would of been possible to have everyone at once from day one.

At any rate, it was a great idea to explore.
Well, that idea was vorn's originally, though I offered the direction of what is described when I became his cohost. When he disappeared and his slot was given to Cap, I decided to put it on the backburner in case he decided to go through with it at some point in the future.

Well, I'm more than a tad bit perplexed by this one, to be honest.
I guess the real question that needs to be asked here is:
Does mismasoning show up as being shot by a green army weapon?
I can't really get a read on any of these borderline trolls to be honest, they remind me somewhat of CmG to be honest, but I don't sense any frustration from the two of them. That's really the key to a town player who bases himself in scuminess.
However, if I had to guess, I'd say MANgerine is telling the truth, as I do not doubt for a moment that he was acting on personal vendetta when he followed SirBlayzalot.
There's this one other explanation as well, though, which makes me hesitant to vote for either of them. Kind of obvious, but I don't want to be the one to ruin it.

1.03:
>Still 1-shot by melee
>2-shot by ranged instead of 1-shot
>Repair costs in the 40-60k margin
>Siegebreaker now unkillable, get him to 90% before i run out of smokescreens to mitigate reflect damage and straight up die.
Have fun with D3 melee, it's no doubt a faceroll for people who can actually mitigate it.

Yeah and it was the most awesome option ever so it was removed less than 2 weeks of it being added.
Srs though, Arsonist is the most dangerous role in the game when it isn't declared. If you really want to buff it, there are plenty of options to do so, including removing sheriff detect.

From what I understand about Revolutionary Catalonia, the anarchist movement was complete fail because they quickly joined into a governmental body called the Generalitit of Catalonia, in order to avoid being isolated during the Spanish Civil War.
As such, while the people might have controlled their own work, they were far from classless(again, this goes back to state capitalism), and despite being really perplexing, was also not stateless as well.
And then they lost the war.
More like real-world regimes that call themselves "communist" to further their propaganda.
And it's not quite fair to say that attempts to create communism in the real-world will always result in authoritarianism. True communism has happened at various points in history, even now.
The bottom line is: communism is, by definition, the equality of power and resources. Authoritarianism is, by definition, an inequality of power. Thus, an authoritarian society cannot truly be communist.
True Marxist communism demands a stateless, classless society worldwide.
Pretty much every communist society has been established under Leninism, and crashed and burned during the transition to communism via dictatorship of the proletariat. They themselves refer to such a system as "socialism", which is viewed as the transition period to communism. And like I said, pretty much every time the revolutionaries become the new dictators instead.
Edit: Thus, this endgame is and can be considered the definition of "real-world communism", because true communism is never achieved, as the government simply becomes a state capitalist system.
It doesn't make sense to you because you're misunderstanding the premise to my argument. You're assuming I'm trying to set a standard. I'm not. I'm the one being the nonconformist. My first game as legitimate citizen, I was very active. But I soon caught on that PRs weren't, and changed accordingly. Eventually, my happy medium just became contributing when I feel the need to, and not rapidfiring argument after argument.
I don't expect other people to change in accordance to how I play. I don't want them to. Most veterans to MFMs and I have a mutual understanding that I simply don't post often, but when I do, it's useful. Quality over quantity. I'm not trying to set a precedence for anything.
I'm not assuming anything. I'm just telling you why playing that way is anti-town, and doing so is only adding to the degradation of the metagame into a lurkfest. You really shouldn't aspire to being a lurker, and I really don't buy into the fact that your fellow players should just accept that you get a free pass to it. It clearly isn't working out to their benefit from what I've seen. I think this is the reason why CmG says people side with you because you're a girl; I mean, why else would someone give you a free smokescreen as scum?
I won't go into the fact that you basically contributed nothing this game because I don't think it's particularly fair considering you were scum, I guess I would have to see "quality over quantity" in action when you're actually town. But when I think quality, I think making very informative posts, pushing lynches, dealing out extremely insightful observations to make up for the fact that you're not involved in shaping the flow of discussion.
I hope you don't take this as an insult to your skill as a player or anything, and I'm not trying to be arrogant or anything since I'm really not that great of a FM player. But I'd think eventually people will start to catch on to the fact that your strategy offers the town nothing while offering all sorts of free passes as scum, y'know?
