Hello wonderful and intimidating staff of the forums,

It is I, the mythical and indubitably miffed Duck. I would like to appeal my ban on the condition that the Keeper in question did not comprehensively review the replay and left out what I deem some inexcusable details leading to the resolution of the game. I have read the thread for the rules of appealing and will do my best to follow them to my interpretation.

I would like to preface my argument by conceding the fact that I am, in fact, a moral degenerate. However, looking over the review of the Keeper, it appears that my code of conduct heavily influenced my own image and the conclusion of the review. I played the game out in my usual fashion and I don't believe it should be brought up as a valid point. Continuing, I'm going to assume (I have very little understanding of the reporting and punishment process) that Arrow did not look at the replay himself which is why I am bringing up the soon mentioned points.

And so, concerning the nature of the replay itself, I would like to give light to the fact that:

- There were four members of the town—three town (including myself), one triad—left at the time I had began jailing the Enforcer.

- I was voted up by all three other members of the town and was lynched accordingly. This fact I find the most annoying because I was not even the one altering the game result. It was my fellow teammates in collaboration with the triad that the town lost and the triad won. I object the false claim that I was the one who decided the game and it was even subtly pointed out by the reporter that "other trolls" were present, in which case I assume the troll label is being applied to my teammates.

- Furthermore, my two teammates were 9 and 15: 9 was Investigator and 15 was Vigilante with no shots remaining. During my trial,

9 asked if 15 had shots; 15 said that he didn't.
9 realized that lynching me meant the town would lose and voted Innocent, trying to get 15 to vote Innocent as well.
However, after revealing to 9 that he had no more shots remaining, 15 changed his vote from Innocent to Guilty, causing me to ultimately be lynched and the town to lose.
Based on the last will 15 wrote the following night, he voted Guilty on the sole basis that he wanted to end the game rather than deal with me, the quote "faggot jailor".

15 instigated me to be reported and banned after the game with me replying that it would be counter-intuitive.
Ironically it appears I was completely wrong.

And concerning myself (I am unsure if this affects the outcome whatsoever):

- I planned to kill 14 after I had finished my copypasta. I know I planned to for sure. However, before I could do that, I was lynched and therefore this evidence is mostly absent. The only notion of me doing so was with the following log:

I thought that I had been more explicit with my intention; however this is the only thing I had said about killing him and therefore my teammates may have acted on the basis that I was not planning to. Nonetheless, the game would've ended in three days anyways since nobody would've died (I would infer).

- Based on the understanding that I planned to kill 14, there would've only been one night where I was jailing 14 while aware that I was stalling his death since I should've finished my beautiful copypasta by the third time I had jailed him (the first being verification that he was Enforcer).

- Though utterly unconfirmable, if I wanted to grief, I would've executed the Mayor Night 1 because he originally answers with his favorite dessert instead of his favorite desert as I normally do. This is a due process of mine that has spanned across my entire career as a Jailor.

- I admit that I indeed have a history of offenses in the past and that anything I do wrongly is inexcusable. I would mention however that I have stayed clean for more than a year and have made it a conscious effort to do nothing that would be validly reportworthy. Based on the history, it seems that every next offence is rewarded with a more severe punishment. If the absurd 4x banlist is a result of that trend, it only seems fit (though it prevents me from my tirades for a while). Proclaiming myself a reformed boy, I protest the severity of the punishment no matter the applied trend.

If anything to get out of my appeal, I request that the replay be reviewed again and details I mentioned and any others noticed to be taken into consideration for a more comprehensive and fair outcome. Based on the evidence I presented, I should not have been the only one reported/punished either if assuming that, referring to me being lynched, gamethrowing the supposed griefer still constitutes as gamethrowing.

Watching the replay from Duck's perspective, there was definitely some confusion as to who the final Triad was. There were other trolls in the game that unfortunately caused the town to die off faster than it should have, but it really had no bearing on the game in the end. While I agree with Duck's decision to jail #12 multiple times to be sure (note that there were several nights in a row earlier where the Enforcer did not attack), it became pretty apparent on Day 8 who the final Enforcer was. Because of Duck's chat and intentional delaying of the game at that point (I do believe he intended to execute #12 that night), I find him guilty of Griefing, however there was no evidence of him intentionally working against his win condition. Because of his lengthy history this would normally still result in the Ban List x4, however he has had a clean sheet for over a year (last infraction was November 2016) which shows he is trying not to be a toxic player anymore (in my opinion). I recommend a downgrade of the punishment to Ban List x1.

As far as Grimmster goes, it was clear that he took action intentionally against his win condition to end the game faster, knowing true and well the consequences it would have. Grimmster has no history of offenses, and there should be placed on hold.

Thank you Nighthawk for the detailed review and for being sympathetic to poor little Duck. I will gladly accept the fact that what I did was griefing alone (though it be in the name of artistic expression) and that a much less severe punishment was suggested and enacted. This also confirms for me that recurring offenses cause more severe punishments, so I'll be sure to keep a picture of Jesus on my wall every game.

I'd like to point out, Arrow, that based on what the Ban Manager says, the 1x banlist was added to the 4x banlist instead of the 1x banlist replacing it. Unless my eyes deceive me or I'm misunderstanding something, I'd request that this be fixed so that me appealing wasn't in vain.
