    REAL LIFE THREATS BANNED

Can be please get threats such as

"Come tell me where you live..i will fucking slaughter you"
    "I will fucking gut you"
"Come tell me where you live.. i will END you life tonite"

banned from sc2 mafia, in no game should threats like this even be acceptable. They have no humor in them and in no way can they be interpreted as "edgy" or funny. 2 of the 3 even ask for details from real life.

"Real Life threats are taken seriously, which is why you contact Blizzard, the people who run and own the game and servers of which the incident happens on, and the police if it is a really serious threat to ones personal safety.
It is too serious for some arcade mod developers to deal with.

It also has nothing to do with the rules that SC2Mafia have." (IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RULES THAT SC2MAFIA HAVE),

this is the mods stance ON REAL LIFE THREATS THREATENING LIFES.

I would like this changed and added to the rules that real life threats will not be acceptable on sc2 mafia, this also falls under the rule "no asking players to confirm out of game information such as battle net name (Additional Information)". Mods can we please get a rule in place that stops these THREATS to other players. I understand Blizz should take care of these types of threats but I don't think SC2 mafia wants the reputation of allowing these threats in game, lots of thing go in Mafia but these types of comments never should

Why i need to ask where you live if i can run an IP check?
And why i need to kill you?

Ageree, these phares can be comsidered as trolling or griefering, just report these players who will say that, ok?
The out-of-game names and IDs will be given at end of every game.
You should upload a replay as a proof, that someone threated you.

    Hopefully situation will change

Real life threats, harassment, ect ect is reported through Blizzards report system. That's why it exists.
    .
We do not run or own blizzard, we do not run the arcade, and unfortunately we are not responsible for controlling what people say.
That stuff has to be done through Blizzard. Or the police if you feel your safety is at risk.

If we began to police people's words, then there will be people that only report it through us, and if anything ever happens SC2Mafia will be thrusted into a case that we are not capable of handling.

Which is why that cases of harassment and RL threats have to be reported through Blizzard, it's why it has to be handled officially with Blizzards system. It's why we can't become an alternative solution to these sort of scenarios.

SC2Mafia mods are here to make sure that the game rules are followed.
The rule of out of game information refers to using that information in the game, whilst alive, to make/influence decisions.
The case you gave us, was when this person was in dead chat, and was not effect to change the ongoing game.

A ban from Blizzard is harder than a ban from SC2Maf.

Sorry, but you are twisting words here. Noone gets banned for "words". Mafia is a game BASED on words, and you can gamethrow with words. The staff is NOT blizzard staff, they cannot stop what's not in the game Sc2 Mafia, IN the game where you can upload a replay and all. Why? Because it's out of their juridiction. It's blizzard's job. So if you got such a problem, report to blizzard or to the police if you see it is a real threat to your security (e.g. he knows where your home is and proves it).

Stop requesting things to this game's staff when they can do anything with it. I understand your concerns, and actually had the same idea than you before, but SuperJack has explained you everything.

Plus, it's against Blizzard ToS to ban people from a game, ALREADY.

lol then this whole report system is useless
Actually, blizzard allowed -Mafia- to ban pepole, because they can't moderate it.
It was important to ban pepole from this game, a gamethower told his mafia teammates - it should be punishable!

All reports about map "-Mafia-" should be on this forum, not on Blizzard's website.

i.e The mods don't care so long as it has nothing to do with Mafia.

This is the answer right here folks. I don't think SuperJacks says SC2Mafia doesn't care about the threats, they just don't want to be liable for the following scenario:

    1. SuperJack adds it to the SC2Mafia Rules
    2. Someone makes a threat
    3. Threat gets reported
    4. Threatener gets banned
    5. Someone ACTUALLY dies
    6. SC2Mafia is liable for not doing anything or not doing enough.

He's saying go through the appropriate channels.

    FM XVIII: Kalou (Savage Godfather)
    FM XX: Joseph Bertrand (Marshall)
    FM XXI: USA (Escort)

"I will run an IP check to you, i'll kill you and eat your flesh"

    Now report me to blizzard.

banned from sc2 mafia, in no game should threats like this even be acceptable. They have no humor in them and in no way can they be interpreted as "edgy" or funny. 2 of the 3 even ask for details from real life.

Imagine if somebody actually dies and the Mafia mods get dragged into a police case. They're ordinary people with their own personal lives, they're doing this as a hobby, not to earn a living. They're not responsible for the lives of every player who plays this game.

Blizzard, on the other hand, is a business, and the police is an official body that deals with cases like these.

But I'm sure you already know that reporting such a threat to the police would get you nowhere, because it's so trivial. It's just angry words with no action behind them. If shit really did go down IRL, I doubt you'll be making a report on SC2 Mafia either, you'd be heading straight to the police.

In other words, there is no actual fear for your personal safety, you're just using it as an excuse to push for a ban on somebody whose words angered you.

More clumsy attempts to guilt-trip the administration into doing what you want.

The logic behind their stance is sound, nobody who can think straight would blame them for anything.

I don't believe I ever advocated going to the police so idk why you are so stuck on that, the basic request was to get threats removed from game, or make them bannable rules.

I am more surprised someone defends personal attacks that really do devalue the game. you can ask pretty much anyone in arcade chat what they think of mafia and they are likely to tell you its full of trolls or a toxic community. that is what i was tryign to convey with this message

    Re: REAL LIFE THREATS BANNED

You have to understand precedence. If you being threatened for your life, you need to either bring it to the higher 'court' system of the blizzard (over sc2mafia) or police (over blizzard). There is no reason for sc2maf to handle these request (forum only) as sc2maf cannot ban them from blizzard.
These acts are bannable from sc2maf forum, but need to escalated to higher authorities otherwise.
