the rights and responsibilities of corporations

What do you perceive to be the rights and responsibilities of a corporation? Should they be allowed to fire and hire who they want when they want? Do they have any obligations to society beyond maximizing their profit margin? Do they have responsibilities to deliver products / services that meet certain standards? How does this evolve when corporations gain international prominence?

Do their rights and responsibilities change with size? Does it make sense to truly talk about them as a single entity? Even if they are legally, their decisions are often managed by many ppl at once. Perhaps it simply doesn't make sense to talk about them any other way?

In a very controversial supreme court decision (citizens united v FEC), corporations were considered to have the right to free speech, just like actual individuals do. After all, among other legal matters they are treated as a single entity. Thus, it was deemed fine for corporations to fund political campaigns, even if their financial power effectively lends them profound influence over which campaigns have viable funding in practice.
