    This is a setup being made for fun (Not a 110% serious attempt), and is no-where to being complete. Feel free to comment with suggested roles or what-not.

    Please note whenever the term "Elimination" is used here, it is referring to the day action that eliminates a player from the game through a voting process done by all living players. Players may refer to it with their own terms if they so wish.

    ~~Rules~~

    Do not use the publicly-seen codes of certain roles, such as the Deathworlds role-card, when you are not that role. Attempting to convince others that you are that role when using the code (When you are not that role) will warrant swift action once it is noticed by the host.

    Anyone who's referring to a role must put parentheses around it, including any nick-names for roles:

    I think Varcron is probably (Blinkskater), but I may be wrong about that.
    I can confirm Wiisp is (MM)
    Unless they are role-claiming for themselves.

    And, in an 100% anonymous game, none of the anonymous accounts should be talking about COMs so there should be no confusion.

    This rule is primarily meant to avoid confusion in a game, and any breaches of it will be met with occasional friendly reminders unless a player is intentionally disregarding this consideration and attempting to confuse the game and/or the players with it. Seriously, I don't want to see any players relying on intentionally confusing others due to the fact that roles are the names of some players.


    The typical rules stuffs; TBD.

    ~~Basic Mechanics~~

    48 day/24 night hour phases are suggested.

    Anonymous accounts: Pick your poison; either require them or don't allow them.

    Roles in the role list can have multiple possible alignments, but roles are Unique --- if one role exists as the Town alignment, for example, then they are the only player in the game of that role. There will be no other players with the exact same role as theirs, regardless of alignment.

    There will always be more possible roles than there are players in the game. In this case, there must be roughly 60% more possible roles than the # of players in the setup. (Right now the example role list setup is for 15 players, and there are 24 possible unique roles.)

    Upon death the true Alignment + Role will show, unless otherwise specified on the role-card.

    Mafia members know each-other and can vote each night who to kill in their Night-Only chat. The "kill" is done by whoever is the bottom-most in an alphabetical (A - Z) order, but that doesn't prevent them from using their other night abilities. If they are role blocked, that (depending on OoO) will prevent both the kill and their night action ability. This currently means, for example, if the Wiisp role is a living mafia member then they will be the one who will always carry out the kill. This also means Auwt, if mafia, will always be the last one to carry out the kill if all other mafia members are dead.

    Role-blocks will affect day abilities on the day after the night of the role block, unless otherwise stated. Role blocks will always give feedback to the target about the role-block (or attempt if they're role-block immune).

    Other basic mechanics are TBD.

    Town: Eliminate (or kill if applicable) any threats to the town.
    Mafia: Have nothing preventing a Mafia win, such as having 50% (or more) of the vote when non-mafia members can't change that.
    Other: See role card. Only applies if you are of the Other alignment.

    Every night you find yourself (either through clumsiness or misfortune) having switched targets with another player of your choice. Actions targeting the player you switch with will target you instead, and anything originally targeting you will target the player you switched with.

    You must choose someone each night, and if you don't select someone, one will be randed for you.

    You are the only role who will not know if they are of the Other Alignment

    If you are of the Other alignment, then there is a 1/3rd chance that whoever you switch with will be killed because you are secretly an archon account, and no one knows who you truly are.

    Your win condition is to survive to the end.

    If anyone tries to night-kill you, that shot will be randomly redirected -- even unto to themselves should RNG disfavor them as such.

    If there are Mafia and Town alignments in the group of three, all three will die that night. If they all have the same alignment, OR there is an Other in the group, one will be randomly selected to die.

    The markings cannot be re-directed.

    The kills can be healed, though they do bypass any sort of night immunity.

    Note that the marking is considered an action and therefore is affected by the Varcron role. If they're mafia, they'll be considered as town in the group of three, for example.

    Your Other win condition is simply to get eliminated during the day and ascend into jester god-hood by marking three players.

    Each night you may check for someone's role.

    The feedback will give the person you checked as well -- so if your target gets re-directed you will know.

    After a roughly ~2-3 year hiatus you're back to wreck some faces.

    You are meta-read immune. Before EoD1 you must submit a possible town role (that appears only as Town, such as Mesk514) for you to appear as at all times (though you will not have their powers). This will be maintained for the entire game for any investigative action, until your death.

    You are not immune to abilities that would check for your visits or targets, however.

    At night, you may spam someone's feedback with shit posts, thus killing them. This has a single-night cool-down, so if you do it night 1 you can't on night 2 but can again on night 3.

    If you have the Other alignment:

    You can use your ability every night; the cool-down is removed

    If someone role-blocks you then you are forced to kill them that night, unless you somehow happen to be role-blocked twice.

    You are night-kill immune for nights 1 & 2.

    The host will reply with "advantageous" or "disadvantageous" at the end of the next day.

    For example, you can PM on N1 about Player X, but you won't receive feedback about it until EoD2 / start of N2.

    This ability is affected by role-block. So in the example above, a role-block on N1 would block it.

    Keep in mind this is considered an action and if you are Town this will be affected by Varcron's ability. (As the Town variant tries to determine alignment)

    This is not affected by abilities that re-direct targets. (To avoid possible host error lol)


    Spoiler : Ability 2 :

    Once per game, you may use the code [SIZE=7][color="#ae0b66"]I DECLARE A THUNDER-DOME ON (Player)![/COLOR][/SIZE], ensuring that on that day either you or your target (the Player) will be eliminated.

    You also need to @ the host to ensure that the host will see it -- its possible the day will have many posts and trying to check every time for it will be tiresome.

    If you are eliminated on the day your ability is used, your alignment will not be revealed to the town.

    If the day is skipped (Or someone else is majority eliminated that is not you or your target), then the Host will force the elimination to be between you and your target, based on Plurality. If there's a tie, RNG will decide.

    This ability is not affected by role-block.

    Every night you may target a player. You have two charges.

    If they are Mafia, they will die, and you won't lose a charge. If you kill 2 mafia, then you will lose all of your remaining charges.

    If they are Town, they will die and you will lose a charge.

    If they are Other, nothing happens and you will lose a charge.

    If you use both charges, you cannot use your ability anymore.

    Keep note that since this is an action that can reveal (or deals with) alignment, Varcron will appear as the opposite alignment for the purposes of this ability.

    If the target is role-blocked by an ability that occurs in the OoO before yours, then nothing will happen and the target will visit them-self.

    You will also learn the alignment of whoever you watch. If you're role-blocked to watch yourself, you will learn the alignment of your role-blocker.

    Each day you may PM the host to copy a player's night action/ability for the next night only.

    For example, if you targeted BananaCucho you would gain their night kill ability (regardless of cool-down), but not have their meta-read immune ability.

    Copied night actions/abilities (if any) happen at the same time as the OoO as if you were the target player's role.

    If the player you targeted is of the Other alignment, you won't gain their Other alignment bonuses.

    You cannot target the same player for an ability copy twice unless you've targeted everyone else (that is alive) at least once.

    Your target cannot be re-directed, though your night-action (if any) can be re-directed.

    If you have the Other Alignment:

    On the top example for Zedus, because they are said to have the Other Alignment and not Town, this means the yellow section of the role card is active.

    On the bottom example, he is

    ~~Additional Stuffs/Notes~~

    Spoiler : How the game will be randed, if I were to host: :

    1. Make a temporary list of all the roles.

    2. Rand the lowest-possible count faction into the setup. At the time of writing, that would be the Other faction, who have 5 possible roles for the single Other slot. Remove any randed roles from the list in #1.

    3. Do #2 again for the next lowest-possible count faction, until all Town, Mafia, and Other factions have been randed.

    4. Review the setup's current "balance" with the randed roles from above. Use the "Hidden Any" to add any unused role from the list into the game as any alignment (that is possible on their role-card) that would make the game more balanced.

    An example "rand" of the game will be created here once all roles have been created and finished.


    Spoiler : "Powerful" and "Not-so-Powerful" (For Deathworlds) :

    This is a list showing what roles are considered "Powerful" or not -- this is supposed to help Deathworlds, if they are the Mafia aligmnent, to know what the Host responses mean as per the "Advantageous" and "Disadvantageous" ability.

    Active roles are more likely to be considered "Powerful" than roles that are passive and/or are "circumstantially Powerful".

    Nice idea! I like how representative @Varcron 's rolecard is.

    On the Mesk rolecard, does "day-eliminated" include any possible daykills, or does it strictly refer to "lynched"?

    I like this setup,
    Only weird point in my pov is that the Zedus role could eventually be a Town, and have a town as a target (randomly selected) , which could eventually force 'em to lynch in their own faction.
    Kind of a backstabbing Town here ^ ^' .

    To clarify, the Zedus role doesn't need to eliminate his target if he's Town. The "Other" win condition is in effect IF they are not town or not Mafia //// aka "Other". I should clarify this more in the setup.

    To give him "town" benefits, he basically learns his target's role regardless if the Zedus role is town or not. He won't learn alignment, but that's information that they can share with the town if they so wish.

    And if the town is between "we may misyeet X or Y" and Zedus' target is X, there may be more town "benefit" to misyeet X because that will give him a new target (and therefore will learn their role).

    If not, then well he kinda acts like a sheriff from that instant mafia game. He knows the role of someone from the start of the game.

    I tend to avoid the idea of day-kill abilities (especially if I'm going to be a busy IRL host) because the benefit of day-kills can rely on timing.

    Unless you think they are viable?

    I guess I could do them if I specified that if they were to send a PM to do a day-kill, it would happen at X hours into a day phase, like 24 or something.

    Also I forgot to put in my mandatory "elimination" clarification lol

    Well, its a once-per-game.

    He would be (possibly) very powerful if he lived towards the end of the game and used his ability (if he's town) to reveal someone else as Town or Mafia.

    If he uses it on D1, then that's not as powerful because, well, there's 14 players lol. Also if he's mafia and uses it upon himself it will always say Town, even if he's Mafia.

    Also side note: If the Light_Yagami role used his ability on Varcron, it would show the opposite of Varcron's alignment because Varcron's special ability affects any action.

    If the Light_Yagami and Varcron roles were mafia in a game and Light_Yagami used the ability to get his mafia buddy town-read towards the end (if nobody knows they are the Varcron role), then I will lol


    So there's some reason to doubt the truth of the alignment announcement if the town believes either of those cases. They won't know if Light_Yagami used upon them-self, and if he did, they wouldn't know any better since the announcement post doesn't mention who caused it.

    To clarify, this may take quite some time before I finish this.

    Whenever I get the time (Provided no one submits a suggestion for their own role's details)

    I actually skim or try to read in-depth the games for one of the players. I did that, for example, two Light_Yagami games. The Mafia Wars one, and the other for Third Line Butterfly.

    Given that he was a Brutalizer that caught a mole on d1, and on the other game he was a Justice (I if I remember correctly), it seemed suitable to give him some sort of ability to reveal someone's alignment publicly. There are a few small exceptions to that though (as said in a previous reply above) so sometimes its not the absolute truth

    Reading games take time though, and since college is starting up + the current Anti-Vaxxer game going on, I may only be able to add 2 or 3 roles a week. Or less if I'm really busy.

    Late Edit: Turns out im not as busy as I thought I would be lol, but the potential is still there.

    I tend to avoid the idea of day-kill abilities (especially if I'm going to be a busy IRL host) because the benefit of day-kills can rely on timing.

    Unless you think they are viable?

    I guess I could do them if I specified that if they were to send a PM to do a day-kill, it would happen at X hours into a day phase, like 24 or something.

    Daykills are certainly viable, although they do require some host activity. I don't think it's a super big deal if the kill is delayed a little bit, though, especially given the nature of the setup. Your option also works. And if the killer's identity is public, he could simply type it himself in the thread following a specific code established in the setup (and anyone who doesn't have the role that can do that gets modkilled if they do it). I'm not saying daykills have to be in the setup though, I was just a bit confused by your terminology.

    I have a few ideas. While some of them may be potentially broken or familiar, I wanted to add memes to all of them that i've thought of so far.

    Zedus' target should always be town for the sake of accuracy.

    Voss, aka the worst staff member (Town): you are tired of dealing with the annoying people that exist on sc2mafia. You want to ban all of them, but maybe removing a few of them wouldn’t be too suspicious...
    During the day, you may choose to shoot one person, OR, take the stealthy approach and gain two shots during the night. If you use one shot at night you will NOT be able to use the day vig ability.

    Marshmallow Marshall, the meta reader (Other): You are an expert at meta reading other people, always able to identify the role of anyone you've already played with. At the start of the game, you will be given the name of two people, but not their alignment. If you accurately identify the alignment of both players before the start of day 3, you will win and be immediately taken out of the game. If you are wrong, you will be demoted to a jester and must be lynched out of humiliation of failure. If your target is killed before either accurately guessing their alignment or Day 3, you will be given a new target. Since you are such an expert, you will not need extra time to figure out your new targets identity. (If they die Night two, you will have to submit your guess before day 3 anyways, so there would not be any conflict with that).

    Gyrlander, the Cat Lord (Town/Mafia(?)): You have always had a love of cats, and they love you just the same. Your loyal cats are willing to do anything that you demand of them. At night, you may give anyone you choose a cat, with an ability that can be used the following night. Gyrlander can only give two cats out. Gyrlander cannot use his own cats.
    Stealth Cat: Can sneak into someone's home and learn the identity of anyone who visits your target.
    Bomb Cat: It's a cat..... with a bomb? You may give the bomb to anyone you choose. However, the bomb can detonate, killing you in the process. This bomb will not kill Gyrlander, even if someone else gives it back to him.
    Protector Cat: Will protect the user from one attack on the night used. Will disappear after being used.
    Angry Cat: Will kill anyone that visits the target on the night it's used. Will disappear after being used.
    Hypnotic Cat: When given to someone, it can make them forget their role, turning them into an Amnesiac. It may make the user forget their role in the process. Gyrlander will NOT forget his role if someone gives it back to him.

    Because there is the chance a mafia member could become amnesiac and out their teammate, I'd either make it a town role only, or delete the Hypnotic cat role completely. The cats are just templates for what his loyal subjects could accomplish.

    Naz, the party girl (Town/Mafia): Naz is tired of being stuck at home and wants to get out and throw some ass. At night, she can visit someone, forcing them to use their night action on themselves. She may also force someone to visit her own home during the same night. One night between use.

    MattZed, The leader (Town/Mafia(?)): MattZed has always known that he was destined to lead. If the people aren't following him, then the people are wrong and need to be shown the error in their ways. MattZed can activate his ability during the day, saving someone from lynch and sacrificing himself in the process.

    oops_ur_dead (Town/Mafia): You are tired of seeing the cringe content posted on sc2mafia, and must take it into your hands to put an end to it. During the day, you may deem a person cringe, preventing them from performing night actions and talking in night chats. You will be given a night chat with your target. You can choose to execute your target if you decide they are too cringe for this game. Limited to 1 execution. Cannot deem someone cringe if a lynch occurs.

    Stealthboomer (Other): You have always been one for creating chaos, and know the best ways to cause it. At night, you may give someone a bomb that has a randomized number value from 1-5. When a player receives a bomb, they must either select a 1 or 2 value, while passing the bomb to someone else. If the user reaches a number value less than 0, the bomb will explode and kill them. Stealthboomer will select the first number value, and can be killed by his own bomb.
    Win Condition: See all who oppose you die, or kill 3 people with your bombs.

    I will be creating more meme worthy roles as the ideas come to me. I don't expect anything from what I've made, but will answer any questions about the roles as they come along.

    If they aren't in the possible role list right now though, I might not get to them until I've done all the other roles.

    Yeah that’s fine, I just made it incase you struggled for ideas with some of the players you were missing. Some of the roles I made are jokes people may not be familiar with, so it wouldn’t be as fun except to those people.

    Just thought of some more ideas. Hopefully it inspires you with your roles if nothing else.

    Deathworlds (Town/Mafia): You always knew when someone needed to be lynched, to the point where you were willing to die to see them go next. During the day, you may pm the host to use your ability, preventing anyone else from being lynched except you and your target. If you are lynched on the day your ability is used, your alignment will not be revealed to the town. The day cannot be skipped when your ability is used. Limited to 1 charge.

    BananaCuchoo (Town): People were always intimidated by you. They would take every opportunity possible to get rid of you, and that was exactly how you wanted it. At night, swap yourself with one person. If your target dies at night, you will learn who visited them that night. One night between switches.

    Frinckles (Town/Mafia): Whether they were scared of your potential as good or evil, it didn't matter to you. Never knowing if they could trust you or not only made things easier. At night, you can give someone a real or fake gun. If your target tries to shoot someone with a fake gun, they will die instantly. Limited to 1 charge.

    lmao I love it, my lynches are historically bad.

    Another idea is since I say "optimal play" and "advantageous" or "disadvantageous" all the time, you could give my role the ability to get a hint from the host as to whether the highest leading train would be a good lynch or not, or something along those lines.

    I went through several versions, and I think this is the best one that avoids king-making as much as possible while still being a "god" and a "jester".

    Worst case scenario for imbalance, I would imagine, is if there were two Mafia and one Town in the group of three. Because then that's two Mafia for one Town and one Other lol.

    Alright. I'm going to include the role.

    To everyone though, I don't intend to have the list expand beyond 24 possible roles. Which means after yours, only 2 more people will be added.

    In accordance, if we do reach 24 possible roles, I'll make the setup 15P. I don't wish for this to turn into a 15P game with like 30 possible roles lol.

    I'm not sure how that would work out but I feel like with that ratio it may be too scum-favored if there's a mass claim because at that point there might be a circumstance for all the scum that can claim whatever they want and get away with it.

    Also it might make people's brain hurt after trying to remember all the roles and special rules lol

    Read a fair bit on Auwt and Gyrlander.

    I thought of a role for Auwt after looking at his (typing/posting?) style a bit more in-depth.

    Also for Gyrlander I felt it best just to give them the memes, though I've modified it a fair bit from Unkown's role suggestion for him.

    I also thought a bit on the "Zedus targets should always be town" bit, and I applied it for cases when they're of the Other alignment.

    Also I added @theonceko as a possible role -- its a new addition to the original possible role list of 21. It is now 23 with Voss's addition. At most I would like the possible roles to not exceed 24, so if I am going to add any more possible roles, it will be just 1 and I will have to be picky about it.
