    That's a very poor argument; if anything, it's those with scum rolecards that should suspect that they're really town players.

    7 confirmed towns, plus at the very least 2 of the hidden any ones are town, as otherway the setup would be nonsense. There is a way, way higher chance that you are town, regardless of what the rolecard says. Assuming that you are a hidden lunatic scum and using that as an excuse to not play in town's favour is either a massive logical flaw or a poor attempt at preemptive measures to excuse future behaviour.

    It's also well known that the lunatic is on the grass, not at the dinning room.

    Town doesn't "believe to be" nor needs reasons to scumhunt. Town doesn't give a fuck about being scummy either, as the only ones who lose by dying on this setup are the scum.

    Gonna get some food. Be back in a bit. If there's not a good response to this by then, I'm probably lynching you today.

    I've caught up. I think y'all are being a little too pessimistic about the ability to formulate reads this game. The last time I played this it wasn't like half the game was a different alignment to their actual rolecard, it was just a few people, iirc. . And some of those people were a different role within the same alignment, iirc. So, you can still have faith that most people's behaviour is their "actual behaviour" or what have you.

    Furthermore, there's a good chance of there being some form of a cult in this game. Even if someone is a lunatic, when they get converted they will be their actual cult-self (I presume a lunatic learns they're cult I haven't asked tbh). So cult reading strategies are pretty much just as strong.

    You are referring to games with an informed minority. The scum in this game at this point are extremely unlikely to have any more information than we will.

    We should definitely try to lynch someone today, but we shouldn't force it either. Neutrals really have nothing to lose from lynching whoever, but outing the Asylum Director super-early could be a major blow to the town.

    As SJ said, the night-phase is nowhere near as pro-scum as it usually is, because both sides are so in the dark.

    All of the interaction generated around it, for starters. Calling for NL invites scum to simply lurk, as they know they aren't at risk of being lynched. And once again, NL only ever benefits scum.

    A great point that SJ brought up was that scum are unlikely to have more info than us. This is true.
    it at the same time also means that the host most likely didn’t decide to fuck everyone over by giving us all weird alignment. So we can assume that if you receive a scum rolecard, you really are scum. I would personally give Town rolecards to scum, but would be a lot more reticent about giving Scum rolecards to town. So I think that if we lynch someone who acts scummy, they’re scum, not town.

    Some of the town are probably not what they believe themselves to be, however.

    The slightest information can set us up with a hunt. We only need one tasty clue to start the train.

    Then surely, calling for a NL we just go for the lurkers. Yet this battle today won't be a scum hunt. It's a whoever is the try hard or more charismatic points and shoots.

    Jesters are also a possibility. Does a Jester King win cause the game to end? If not what are people's thoughts on them revealing so we can lynch them?
