    Fair enough.

    I see your point.

Even though Johnson, Stein, 'Other' will never become president, you don't see it as wasting a vote but measuring the potential start of a movement going forward.

In this case I vote for myself as other.

I wish to be the leader of my own domain and receive federal funding for telling people about my desires.

Voting 3rd party is pretty with the way our election system works. Vote 3rd party for your local office positions if you want to vote 3rd party.

5% of the vote for a third party means they get federal funding for the next election. Not pointless.

Probably the same as any other party.

A $10 million repayment on loans.

Imagine you're self funding up to $10 million.

Then you use that $10 million at your own establishments (food, travel, accounting, strategists, media) - basically you're cycling that money back into your pockets.

Plus you get $10 million from federal funding of you make it that far.

You've just made money running an election win or lose.

    Sound familiar?

So around 10 million at least - considering that Stein has raised only under 2 million this election and Johnson has raised under 8, the would provide a significant leap in the movements each party is trying to create

Johnson is polling around 10 percent on 8 million dollars.

Starting a campaign with 10-20 million to help them build infrastructure and kick off fundraising could help change politics quite a bit.

A growing percentage of Americans want more options than the two we are given every four years and find the parties less and less representative of what they believe in and stand for.

The main thing killing third parties is recognition. If people knew who they were they would do better and raise more money. A federal head start helps that.

Saying not to vote 3rd party because they don't have a chance is not how democracy works. If people see third parties slowly gaining traction over multiple elections, people will start seeing them as a viable choice. But to tell people not to vote third party is all is totally flawed.

Yeah, Johnson could use some of that $20m to hire some advisors to teach him about Aleppo and foreign leaders, lol.

Yeah, pretty much telling people not to vote third party means third parties will never be viable. Had Perot not been a derp and dropped out, he was in a good position to win a number of states in 1992 and be a big time spoiler -- i.e. it wasn't that long ago that a third party was pulling 20-30% in the polls. In June 1992, Perot was polling at 37% vs. 24% for Bush and Clinton each.
