    S-FM Religion Test

    A test of the religion mechanic that I plan to use.

    Spoiler : Role List :


    Missionary
    At night you may target someone, giving them +25 influence to the religion you spread
    You start out with 50 influence to your starting religion
    Inquisitor
    At night you may target someone, killing them if they don't follow your religion
    You may only kill someone X times
    If you run out of kills, or fail to kill, your action instead sets your targets religion influence to 0
    You start out with 50 influence to your starting religion
    Prophet
    You are immune to opposing religious influence
    At night you may convert someone, giving them +50 influence to the religion you spread.
    You have 1 auto-vest
    You have 100 influence to your starting religion
    Doctor
    At night you may heal someone, preventing them from dying that night
    You are informed of successful healing.
    Targets are informed of being attacked and healed.
    If you successful in healing a target, you give them +25 influence to the religion you spread. Otherwise you give +5 Influence if you share a religion with your target.
    You start with either 0 religious influence, or 25
    Sheriff
    At night you may check someone.
    Non-Town appears as Heretics, everyone else appears as Believers
    You start with either 0 religious influence, or 25
    Citizen
    At night you may converse with someone, you give them +5 religious influence if they follow your religion.
    You start with 0 or 25 religion influence


    Religion!
    Overview: Religion plays a dominant aspect in this game, every player is either apart of a religion, or agnostic.

    Players can gain or lose religious influence from 0-100 and whole numbers inbetween. Gaining religious influence from a religion you do not follow will instead subtract religious influence from the religion you follow until it reaches 0. A player gains benefits from a religion if they have 10 or more influence to it. Players are informed of which religion the majority of the players are following. If players have less than 10 influence to a religion, they do not spread that religion.

    Example: Player Bob has 20 influence for religion A and is receiving benefits. Player Bill gives Player Bob 25 influence to religion B. Player Bob now has 5 influence for religion B, does not receive benefits, and is classified as Agnostic.


    Rival Religion Tenets:
    Holy War: Whenever someone of an opposing religion dies, and a follower of your religion played a great part in it, every member of your religion gains +5 influence.
    Franatic Followers: You spread 1.5x (Rounded up) more influence.
    Old Followers: The Mafia lose half as much influence.

    Home Religion Tenets:
    Safe Among The Lamb: If a non-citizen Town member would die at night, the Citizen with the most influence to this religion dies instead.
    Communal Discussion: Every member of this religion gains .5 (rounded down) religion influence per night, per follower.

    Revolutionary Religion Tenets:
    Vengence From God: Every player that does not follow this religion loses 1 influence per night per follower after Night 3
    Words From God: When spreading influence to a target, you also spread half that influence (rounded down) to everyone who targeted your target, as well as who your targeted visited that night.
    Connection From God: 2x more religion influence is spread to players following the Home Religion
    Command From God: This religion may not spread until Night 3

    Mechanics:
    Days and Nights are 48 hours. If a lynch occurs early then the day MAY be shortened.
    The Mafia shares a night chat.
    Last wills and death notes are allowed.
    Roles are revealed upon death, along with what religion they followed (if any)
    Lynches will be handled by the automated lynch system using [vote] tags. With a 51% hammer
    Night actions must be PM'd to me 2 hours before night end's
    Game starts day 1, with an optional lynch
    Suicide will not be allowed.

    Order of Operations
    A. Day ends
    B. Lynch occurs
    C. Rival religion spreads
    D. Religion Applied

    1. Night starts, night chats open
    2. Doctor
    3. Sheriff
    4. Inquisitor (Kill)
    5. Citizen
    6. Home religion spreads
    7. Rival religion spreads
    8. Revolutionary religion spreads
    9. Religion Applied
    10. Home Religion Tenets applied
    11. Vengence From God spread
    12. Inquisitor (Set religion to 0)
    13. Final religion Applied
    14. Night ends, night chats close

    Win Conditions
    While Home is the majority religion
    Mafia: Cannot win
    Town: Have 1+ member survive to eliminate anyone following the Rival religion. (Ends Game)
    Neutral: Survive to the end.

    While Rival is the majority religion
    Mafia:Have 1+ member survive to eliminate anyone not following the Rival religion (Ends game)
    Town: Survive to the end.
    Neutral: Cannot win.

    While Revolutionary is the majority religion
    Mafia: Survive to the end and eliminate the Prophet
    Town: Eliminate any Mafia following the Rival religion. (ends game)
    Neutral: Have the game end while Revolutionary is the majority religion.

    While there is no majority religion
    Mafia: Have 1+ member alive to eliminate the Town (ends game)
    Town: Have 1+ member alive to eliminate the Mafia (ends game)
    Neutral: Survive to the end

    The Ten Commandments Rules:

    1. Inactive players will be replaced or modkilled.

    2. White Bold Text shall not be used by mere mortals, this text shall be used only by me.

    3. English shall be the only language used.

    4. Do not post links to other websites.

    5. Offensive videos/pictures shall not be tolerated.

    6. Excessive insulting is not allowed.

    7. Thou who edit or delete thine post shall be smited.

    8. Quoting any PM's or Feedback by me is forbidden.

    9. Usage of invisible ink is not allowed.

    10. Communicating with players or through third parties about the game is strictly forbidden

    This sounds very interesting, and I think it'd do great on a bigger game.

    Do Prophets always convert their target, regardless of previous influence?
    What happens if bot hProphets target the same player?
    Are players notified of their religion and influence each night? If so, wouldn't that make all Civs effectively faction cops?
    What's the OoO?
    What would be considered "playing a big part in it" for the Holy War mechanic?
    Does the influence bonus given by Words from God apply to people who target the ame thayer that night, or any night before?

    No.

    Then the player that was targeted by both prophets receive +50 influence to Rival, then +50 influence to Revolutionary

    Win Conditions have been overhauled

    Changed the name of the Majority religion, to the Home religion

    The "Survive until the end" condition for the Town is unachievable, tho; it only happens when Rival is majority, and in that scenario, the game will only end if the Rivals have eliminated everybody else, thus there's no way for anyone but a Rival to reach the end inthat scenario.

    No it's not?

    Town members can win with any religion.

    Town members can win with Rival being the majority religion, as long as they do not follow it.

    Town wincon with their own religion is redundant as the Rival Prophet will always follow the Rival religion.

    It's hard to say that the neutral is really neutral since the mafia always need him dead to win. Intentional?

    Yes it is intentional, I made the neutral a neutral because it inherintly has different win conditions than town

    How is the majority religion determined?

    If more than half of all living players follow a single religion, that religion will be the majority religion.
