    Question about Game throwing

So admittedly [And put me on the watch list if this is the case] today i was playing a game where it ended up being 3sk's, 3 mafia, and 6 townies due to some randoms. It went the way most mafia games go, until it comes down to me [sk] the mafia and a townie. So the mafia guy lynches the townie no questions asked, knowing i was SK [And that he was between a rock and a hard place ], and ends up being a really cool guy. So after 45 seconds at night, i decided that the guy was chill enough to suicide myself so that he could have the game.

Now i know game-throwing is against the rules, but i assume that's because if you throw a game you have teammates that suffer. In this scenario, i figured since i was the only one who would suffer the loss for my decision, it wouldn't technically be against the game rules.

For future reference, is this against the spirit of the rules?

    It's not harming anyone
I've done suicides before in such circumstances, like when I was a Mafia and the only reason I wasn't lynched on last day was because of an afk townie. And that's worse than this since I had teammates.

This is fine. As the Serial Killer your only ally is yourself. If you decide to give the win to the mafia (or town), that is your decision.

However, if you were say... a mafia member and your teammates were watching from beyond the grave and you suicide. I am not sure.. but I wouldn't be pleased.

    Re: Question about Game throwing

    any suicide will hurt someone

a town suicide = less chance of town win
a mafia suicide = less chance for mafia
sk suicide = 0 chance for that person

The suicide command would not be in the game if it was against the rules to use it.

I have no problem that you used it in your situation since you are alone but I would frown on a mafia using it when his team still has a good chance to win.

On a side note: I actually find it sad that what many people call game throwing is sometimes an excellent strategy.

Example: a last will of a dead mafia says 2 names of other mafias

Depending on reputations, this could be game throwing or could be extremely clever and get a nearly confirmed innocent killed or even make a scum get cleared. It's all in WIFOM. Who is to say that he didn't lie in the last will?

If every scum said some shit in their last will about their team, then no one would believe the last wills and we wouldn't have this game throwing technique. But since no one seems to be using Wifom and it isn't a popular game tactic.

    Re: Question about Game throwing

I usually toss in the names of my mafia 'comrades' in my last will if I die as maf. Never once has it included the real names - most of the time people actually believe it, and say 'Oh ffs another lame cheater'... before lynching their own Doc and losing.

Actually I lie, I did throw one game as Mafia. My other two Maf were clearly afk and I couldn't kill anyone, but the Town did a pretty good job of finding the SK and Arsonist. I did my best to sow confusion, even claiming I was a roleblocker near the end saying 'X' must be Maf killer since I was blocking. When I went down I felt it was proper to just tell everyone they were afk, cos I felt Town deserved to win.

(You know what confirmed that for me? The Town didn't lynch anyone that night, and took no action 'til the Sheriff and Investigator could corroborate my story with all the Town claims. They didn't blindly trust my Mafia double-cross, and didn't random lynch :P)

I think giving away a teammate that was obviously mafia and trying to save you from getting lynched isn't a crime. Especially if you throw in a fake one with it.

However, if you reveal your teammates and they had no suspicion on them. That is a different story.

What about if you are trying to WIFOM the town into believing that the people you out in your last will are not mafia but the town lynches them anyway. Still game throwing? Lol.
