    Mafia Terms

The Follow List of Mafia Terms is a Collaboration of the People who play them regularly.

    • Active Lurking: Posting regularly, but refusing to make your posts meaningful.

    • AFK: Not participating at all in an FM game for which that person has signed on to. Doesn't care about it at all, and never comes online.

    • Bussing: When the Mafia lead a lynch against one of their own, or accuses a team member, in the hopes to prove themselves as Town.

    • COM: adapted reference to a player's real ID on the site.

    • Failor: A jailor who randomly jails and executes even though his target had a legitimate claim.

    • Gamethrowing: An action performed by a player against their win condition that ruins the game for others.

    • Hammer: term that represents a target has reached the necessary votes for a lynch, and cannot be undone.

    • FoS: finger of suspicion.

    • KPN: "Kills per night". In general the expected number of deaths per mafia Night.

    • LLL: Live and Let Live; Not often used in game, but an important rule to play by. Respect others' opinions so that they will respect yours. Helpful as both Town and Mafia when trying to lead discussion or force a push on a player.

    • Lurker: Comes online to view a game, but rarely posts. Unlike an AFK player a Lurker cares about the game, but doesn't post.

    • L-1: "Lynch minus one". This either refers to the second-to-last vote before a lynch is obtained, or a state where a player only needs one more vote to be lynched.

    • LVP: "Least valuable player" - sometimes awarded by the host at the end of a forum mafia game.

    • LYLO: Lynch or Lose. Used to describe a situation where Town needs to successfully lynch or they lose.

    • MVP: Most Valuable Player - typically awarded by the host at the end of a forum mafia game.

    • MYLO: Mislynch and Lose. Used to describe a situation where Town has to either lynch successfully or no-lynch in order to remain in the game.

    • N1/D1 = Night one/Day one

    • Power Role: Any role that has a night ability.

    • Pressure vote: Voting someone without the intention of lynching them in order to pressure them into giving information. A common strategy in the early stages of an FM.

    • Random Lynching: Lynching a suspect without any evidence.

    • Role Fishing: A technique used to try to make people reveal subtle information regarding their role. Seen as scummy by most.

    • Scum: Used to describe any roles that cannot win with Town. Can be applied to Benign Neutrals whose playstyle is anti-town.

    • Scum Hunting: Term used for someone going through a players posting looking for slips, misinformation, or other "Scum Tells."

    • Scum Tells: Slips of information that a Townsperson would not know or posts that do not give off a view point of being Town.

    • Sheep: Town being led and following orders blindly.

    • Suiciding: Committing suicide, usually to a) prove your role to the town and make them follow you, or b) rage-quit.

    • Town Hunting: Actively shifting through posts searching for players who display general town oriented behaviors.

    • Town Leader: A player that organizes night actions and lynches

    • TPR: Town Power Role. A Town member that has an ability. Sometimes actionless Town members that have more usefulness than a Citizen will be classified as TPR (ie. Bulletproof).

    • Train: The current player being voted. Sheep tend to "hop on the train". Attempting to save the person being Trained is appropriately called "Derailing".

    • WIFOM: Divining what a person will do or did based on what we know of him. Mostly used by guessing PR actions.

    The correct definition of WIFOM:
Devining what a person will do or did based on what we know of him. Mostly used by guessing PR actions.

    Origin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9f3GSA9yfc

It has nothing to do with confusing players other than influencing a player to do something other than what he would normally do if not influenced. I swear 95% of the people on the site do not know what wifom means and use the term whenever they feel like it.

Plagiarism indeed. Did you ask for Muso's permission to post this here?

Why aren't you giving credit to Professor Muso?

And you succeeded banning WIFOM for a couple of months. (when all the old FM vets quit / got banned - no one knew how to use WIFOM)
