Skyrim DLC Trailer Launch Tonight!!!

The Dawnguard DLC has some new fun quests, and it was quite genius too - but it wasn't what Elder Scrolls fans were screaming for. Well, just like last time, they have released a SINGLE screenshot as a prelude to their launch trailer. Here it is:

Some commentators on Facebook seemed to be confused as to what this means, and it's plain obvious: this is the launch of the Aldmeri/Thalmor expansion!!!

At the end of Skyrim, no matter which side you support, they pledge to take the fight to the Elves. This could be it. The costume design and unique helmet indicates that this is obviously a Thalmor high priest or something.

Maybe Bethesda will also unlock one of the (non-rendered) provinces on the side for this expansion?

TROUBLESHOOTING QUESTION FOR MODS: As you can see, like in all the posts I attempt to put a picture in, it always shows as a godamn thumbnail. I've seen other people post memes that show full-size and aren't clickable. What am I doing wrong, exactly?

I was disappointed, but I bought it anyway and it's got a lot of new shit to do. HEARTHFIRE sucked major balls, as it's pretty much "The Sims" of Skyrim, and not even as good as the Sims 3.

I've heard rumors that the guy in the picture is a dragon priest. But the golden colour and the curves on the helmet remind me of the Elven Armor set! However, his cloak is similar to Archmage Savos Aren's.

Aldmeri/Thalmor expansion? Please, the helm looks to be a dragon priest mask to me, I mean, just look at those eyes, they're exactly the same as the other DP masks, which ties in with the "Dragonborn" title for the DLC.

Lol the Dwarven Armor set is probably the ugliest armor set in Skyrim.

pebrock, the thing is, Bethesda has only released this single screenshot, just like they did for Dawnguard - to stir the hype. That's all they did, they didn't even comment, they just put up a picture on their Facebook page. I've heard more rumours (British spelling ftw!) that it's Dragon Priest armor, but I've heard others say it's Thalmor.

Dammit, I just looked at it again, and you're probably right. What should I bother hoping that it's the fucking Aldmeri expansion that would be so sweet? The "Elder Scrolls Online" game is going to take place hundreds of years in Tamriel's PAST, so it's generous AND safe for Bethesda to give us a chance to take the war to the Elves, or help them conquer Skyrim completely.

I'll buy it anyway, because as meh as Dawnguard seemed, I'm still playing it in another new character, and they also introduced other new side-quests as well as the main quest line. The best part (here comes a spoiler), is when you beat Dawnguard, no matter which side you pick, you get this bow called Auriel's Bow.

Auriel's Bow inflicts sun damage, which is useful against vampires and undead (and others, maybe). But it can also fire two special types of Elven arrows: Sunhallowed Elven Arrow and Bloodcursed Elven Arrow (dipped in Serana's vampire blood). One turns the sun into a huge solar flare that pretty much kills everything around you within a kilometer, and the other makes the outdoors enjoyable for vampires for 24 hours.

W00T! They're unlocking Solstheim! That's a start in introducing a new actual land with an observable map (not seen in Dawnguard). I saw this YouTube video that displays a lot of content that was reserved for future expansions, one of which I saw featured in this trailer is goblins! This will probably be very fun to play, worth $40.

Also, the boat moving at the beginning is handy, modders will be happy to know they can introduce moving boats/platforms into their mods now.

Riding a dragon, big deal. They already have a mod where you can "Become the Dragon", and fly as one. I will say the main usefulness of riding a dragon is the ability to land. I have the Flying Horses mod, where their run speed is set to 9999999999999, and basically here's what I've learned:

A) Falling from the sky will kill regular horses AND Shadowmere (falling from the sky is the only thing that can kill him). It will also kill Arvak (Conjuration spell horse) in the Dawnguard DLC, but you can recast him.

B) Being careful where to land when falling. I have learned about the limits of the punishment the ragdolls can take, and I've learned that if my guy flails when tumbling down to the ground, he will die upon landing. It's so funny that after a brutal fall down a mountain, breaking all your arms and legs, when you fall, THEN the Dovahkiin cries out in pain lol.

C) The punishment for stealing horses is 50 gold. You just find a stables, hop on and get yelled at, and PEEL!

This totally made me LOL: In the ad window before I came to this page, I saw an ad that said something like "Skyrim: Know ESRB content"

Skyrim ethics fails:

1) Can't kill children because that's wrong. But the game is completely adorned with embalming tools, torture tools, you can buy a Torture Chamber for the Dawnstar Dark Brotherhood HQ, and you can extract information from seemingly-tortured individuals to steal money that's theirs.

2) You can punch women. Where are the petitions FFS? I know why there are none: the game is too damn successful for them to have any impact except to be laughed at, and maybe punched IRL.

3) You can kill animals. Mitt Romney fans, you'll be pleased to know my dad is dating a woman who is in a heavily Mormon family lol. When me her and her niece were watching American Psycho, her niece ran out of the room when he killed the dog lol! The phrase "Animals Attack" is real in this game, however. But some of them don't, and run, and make you have to chase them. What can you get from a fresh deer? Normally you can get both the hide AND the meat, but in this still-incomplete game, you can only get 1 of them from a corpse. Except bears, they give both claws and pelt.

4) At the end of Skyrim, when Delphine asks you to kill Paarthurnax, and you tell Arngeir, he affirms what he said at the beginning, that the Blades are genocidal dragon-killers who want to wipe them out to extinction. This should get some people who have suffered genocides pissed off, and maybe they should be forced to remove the option to kill Paarthurnax in order to preserve moral integrity :P
