    Signups are closed, you may instead "/reserve" to be a potential replacement in case they are needed.
    To sign up as a back-up in case anyone needs to sub out, please reply "/reserve".
    If more than 13 players "/sign" for the game than all signees shall be randomly chosen to participate, those who "/sign" for the game and are not one of the 13 participants shall be put on top priority for the reserve list. This game is not first come first serve.

    Agent
    At night you must share fuel with another player.
    At any time you may kill a player, you may choose to disguise yourself as that player, giving the appearance that you died whilst taking control of another players account. OR you may choose to not. Player roles are not revealed in either circumstance. You have exactly 1 charge of this ability. If used during the day, the effect takes place at the end of the day, with OoO priority over the lynch.
    You have a 1 time immunity to exposure to compound A. The compound will be visible, but inert.
    You have a 1 time immunity to exposure to compound B. The compound will be visible, but inert.
    If the Saboteur dies, then you lose all your abilities, and gain the abilities of the Saboteur
    Saboteur
    At night you must share fuel with another player.
    At night you may choose to expose a player to compound A. You may perform this action in addition to your other abilities.
    At night you may choose to expose a player to compound B. You may perform this action in addition to your other abilities.
    Compound A is visible and active in fuel mixtures of 25% concentration or higher.
    Compound B is visible and active for a duration of 2 day/night cycles.
    If active Compound A and active Compound B mix in a player's fuel tank, then the engine combusts, killing the player.
    You are immune to dying from exposure to active Compound A and Compound B.
    Fuel Inspector
    At night you must share fuel with another player.
    At night you may choose to inspect the fuel tank of a player, learning their exact fuel mixture, and learning if there is any visible Compound A or Compound B.
    Radio Operator
    At night you must share fuel with another player.
    During the day you may select two players to create an anonymous architect chat between them. The chat lasts for the duration of the next night.
    Mechanic
    At night you must share fuel with another player.
    At night you may choose to repair another player's truck, healing them if they were to die that night. This also resets the player's fuel mixture, removing any Compound A or Compound B in their fuel tank.
    Trucker
    At night you must share fuel with another player.

    Special Mechanics:
    Fuel Sharing: The road to the destination is perilous, with little fuel to spare and minimal opportunities to refuel. All players are required to select another player to share fuel with, half of your fuel will be mixed with half of your target's fuel. Fuel mixtures will be tracked by the host. Fuel mixtures will be reset after every other player death.

    Mechanics:
    Days are 48 hours, nights are 24 hours.
    Spies know the identities of all faction members, they do not share any form of chat.
    Last wills are allowed.
    Death notes are not allowed.
    Lynches will be handled by the automated lynch system using [vote] tags, with a majority (51%) vote inducing a hammer. If a hammer does not occur, a plurality lynch will occur, unless a "skip" has the most votes. All lynches are mandatory
    Night actions must be PM'd to host at least 2 hour before night ends.
    Game starts day 1.
    Suicide is not allowed.
    Role is revealed upon death.

    I've brought a few of my opinions to Lag before.

    I've seen some of the numbers, evidence supports that we've been getting more FM players from other sites than we have from the mod. On most other sites, a 24/7 scum chat is the norm. Having our site have a similar way things are ran/operated would likely do a better job of attracting these off-site players. We're getting substantially less players from the mod than we used to back in our hay-day. SC2 is a dying game, with a dying arcade section, and despite everything we can do (and have done) to reinvigorate the mod, people aren't downloading StarCraft 2 just to play Mafia.

    I think most of my issue comes from the fact that this "new standard" is that it's a standard to be enforced on hosts. This site has a very long history of being a champion of host's rights, and my reputation as a "experimental" host is enabled by that fundamental idea of hosts rights, it's not a huge change, really, but this is the first one since I've started hosting that directly restricts my setup creation.

    As a player and a host, I know that a 24/7 chat is stronger than a night only chat; giving scum the ability to coordinate during the day when feedback is given, when town starts to make their plans, when scum learns that something went wrong for them, gives them an advantage over scum that can't come up with a game plan together to adapt to their current situation. I've based a couple of my setups around this, I've given one scum faction a small advantage in numbers, they had three slots but weaker abilities, I gave another scum faction only two members, but they had a 24/7 chat and stronger mechanics. I'm of the opinion that a night only chat vs 24/7 chat is a significant enough factor for balance that it should be left to host's discretion.

    I think this change marks a significant change in our branding as a sc2mafia site. Night only has been a standard for this site since it's inception, and it ties us with the mod, which is also night only with zero exception. I'm not disillusioned enough to believe that we can keep our current player count up with just recruits from the mod with our current policies, and even if we took a proactive approach to recruiting, there isn't likely to be that many people that 1. play the mod, 2. play FM on our site, 3. is willing to actively try and recruit people from the mod to our site, and 4. be staff material. So what do we do, do we continue to distance ourselves from the mod and how it works, or do we double down on our ties with the sc2mafia mod? We're getting more people from other sites currently, and eventually StarCraft 2 is going to not draw in any new players at all.

    To sum up my opinion, I agree with the numbers I've seen, but I'm torn, really.

    I wouldn't be opposed to most of those proposed changes, it'll effectively turn the setup into Mountainous but town get's a little extra treat for having to deal with the setup restriction.
    The only change I believe would be detrimental is giving scum a 24/7 chat instead of a night one. By your own calculations scum already have a high win-rate, "nerfing" them by giving them a night chat instead of a 24/7 chat should bring them more in-line with a 50/50 split between win-rates

    Host thoughts:

    I've said some of this in the graveyard chat, but this setup's balancing needs an overhaul. Frankly I'm disappointed in my ability to do basic arithmetic to balance the amount of votes (for the win-con) for each faction and their voting power (ability to pull off the lynch) during the day. Town lost majority very quickly in this particular game, and with the cult or serial killer neutral they will almost certainly lose it much quickly. The Illuminati had a particularly bad night 1 and night 2. They lost ceko very quickly (who was thankfully able to get their kill off), and Lag cracked the code through a combination of good math, host meta, and luck on night 2. Illuminati was in such an odd spot this game, they had minimal ability to manipulate the win-con vote, yet can easily represent a massive block of players for the lynch.

    The setup it self has a pretty clear divide between roles that manipulate the win-con vote, and roles that actually interact with each other mechanically, I lacked a lot of the former in this setup despite it being the main gimmick in this setup. I gave town and the team scum as many tools as I could reasonably give (illuminati all interacted mechanically, and town has maximum TPR) and they still got smashed by a single powerful neutral, which has been a bit of a theme with my hosting in general. If I were to host this setup again, I'd likely give the Illuminati a factional convince ability they can use with their other abilities, and weaken them mechanically, or get rid of power roles all together with the exception of roles that interact with the win-con vote, I'm not sure.

    The neutrals are busted, particularly the cult leader and the serial killer, they can amass a ton of win-con votes for their party, which is a problem because the team scum has less voting power than a single(unless cult) player. I'd likely nerf the neutrals, remove the investigative immunity and the 1-time night immunity from their respective neutrals. I think the arsonist is likely fine as it is.

    The town got shafted this setup, despite being as strong as they could reasonably be (I was never giving them five sheriffs, lol) as Lag pointed out to me in the graveyard chat, their ability to win hinges on the d3 vote tally (which only appears after two rounds of voting, it really should appear after three to clearly show the disparity between the illuminati candidate and the town one) and the conspiracy theorist being able to crack the code, which is a luck based endeavor. A game of FM really shouldn't be decided by luck, so if I were to host this setup again I'd likely make the conspiracy theorist a full-fledged townie, and remove the fanatic and replace them with a town slot. Town simply does not have the numbers to compete, and had the fanatic been anti-town, town would've lost majority way too quickly in this setup.

    Anyways, I'm probably going to retire this setup, I had an obligation to fulfill in hosting this again (after almost 7 years lmao) and it was interesting seeing people break down the math of this game and the perceived optimal play. Speaking of which, I disagree with the notion that town splits their vote between four choices, abstaining, third party, red or blue. Town really should never vote third party in this setup, every vote given to the third party advances their objective, which is against yours in every case. But who am I, the host, to argue.
