    If "spend points on x" bonuses ever become a part of the game and I'm being honest with myself, I see no possibility of me not saving and replacing my bank file between games whenver I would use the bonuses. Hardly an inconvenience after just setting up a shortcut on desktop.
    That is not even mentioning implications it would have on point restoration requests for the mods.


    That's not necessarily a bad thing though. Like making mothership execution be inconvenient is worth it in my book. (after possibility of accidental mothership gets disabled and possibility of disabling that option is enabled, that is)

    The first 8331 was created by Distorted, as the community got better and 933 got noticeably more and more town favored.
    8331 back then did indeed feel more balanced, it was no longer the "get town get win" game that it was - it felt like an improvement.
    Though he for that setup took weeks or months tweeking it nonstop back then, unlike the 8331s that are around now.

    At one point Mafia on EU revived after being dead, but it was full of new players, I remember deliberately going back to 933 because of it. Though, tbh, even 10-3-2 still wouldn't be town favored then.

    All I'm saying is, I don't agree with your dogmatic sounding opinion towards the 9-3-3 vs 8-3-3-1 fiasco.

    Get in a game
    host do the "pick a default setup and switch to Save setup to start very quick"
    no time to repick and 15 players are somewhat forced whatever the 1 host wants to play.

    I really rather have the option to vote for default setup during lobby. *cough* chaos *cough*
    Default option upon entering lobby should be "host decided" though imho.


    There's pros and cons to this idea and low priority regardless. But I feel like it'd be more beneficial than not.


    Not a popular enough thing in SC2 arcades I feel like. Runling Run 8 is the only one I can even name off the top of my head, the rest have at best the option to have a setup be host decided upon lobby creation.

    Flour in UK has to be fortified, it means "by statute any white wheat flour that is milled in the UK has to have calcium carbonate, iron, thiamine/Vitamin B1 and Nicotinic acid added." (Outdated list I think)
    Calcium carbonate = chalk.

    I feel like when I googled it, all first page was a hit. Though most of them talked about fortification as a whole and not chalk specifically.

    That reddit post talks about how that statute (somehow different from law?) is based on outdated beliefs. However, that reddit post itself is slightly outdated, as for example it doesn't include this:
    "UK's move to fortify flour with folic acid to help prevent birth defects hailed. The UK government's decision to finally make it mandatory to add folic acid to non-wholemeal wheat flour to help prevent life-threatening spinal conditions in babies is being hailed by all concerned." - 2021
    (Though not sure if it doesn't talk about different kinds of flour?)

    My first instinct was to say that SC2Mafia and MafiaCafe are polar opposites.
    But I guess SC2Mafia is different than what it was like in the past, at least the forum and FM side of it.

    I like the timing of the games - historically it's around the time of the year when we take months to fill even a mini game.
    But other than that benefit, what is the purpose of this?

    1 game on each site sounds good. Will there be any measures taken to ensure somewhat equal representation of both sites? What if one site sends over only, lets say, 3 members to the other sites game? I'd sort of expect that to happen.

    It's funny that MafiaCafe got 2 crossover "events" in the span of less than 1 year, despite it's relatively small size, and both were initiated by the other site. People seem to REALLY enjoy MafiaCafe.

    It feels weird that this announcement is made so much sooner on one site than on the other, feels unequal. At least I assume that their announcement won't be so soon.

    I don't feel like Street Racer has a net positive impact on the game. At least for me the role itself feels less interesting than doctor and escort. Though, personally, I still prefer it over having Coroner.

    How do you guys feel about Street Racer?


    Offtopic: btw how do you guys write a LW as Enchantress and think of the role in general? It seems powerful role but I never yet experienced it's presence being even noticed in the game with 30 games played so far.

    I just lost 500 points ON ACCIDENT. Not a great feeling let me say.

    I had something stolen from my credit card once.
    The bank, they took it almost personal. Immediately made lawsuits or whatever on their own expense, as I understand it, idk, but I got my money back in 3-6 months something like that.
    I don't like the bank, I was only there because that particular job allowed only 2 banks for their salaries (those banks are merged now coincidentally). But that shit - that shit I liked.

    Here's 2 that I think I'd be interested in using:
    1)Players with 20k points can, once per game, enable God Mode. God Mode does nothing except it announces it in chat.
    2)Players with 10k points can choose to not play the game anonymously by forfeiting the chance of picking a name. They're assigned their bnet name and it's public knowledge. But by doing so - they also forfeit all other bonuses.


    Here's 2 that I find funny but bad though:
    1)Players with 5k points can publicly announce another players win rate, just to mock them.
    2)Everyone has Prefer, but Prefer only increase your chances of getting a role by 2% per every thousand points you have; with a maximum of 40%.

    Compare this to the solution I proposed where you can leave blacklist/prefer at 100% strength but only half the time. It would in effect be like making the strength of the prefer/blacklist 50% the strength of what it currently is. But because all the rolls are dependent, correlated rolls, new players get a shot at rolling the in-demand rolls 50% of the time. Whereas leaving the rolls uncorrelated could see the strength of blacklist/prefer weakened all the way to just 20% and in-demand rolls like Judge might still only be available for new players 30% of the time - much lower than the 50% with my solution.
    I didn't read anything past the white line, TLDR, but that idea got me hyped up lol. Idk why but it sounds just so so fun for some reason!

    I wanted to learn the new roles, so I opened up a replay and started reading the cards.
    Some few things got my attention, which I hope is worth a feedback:

    1) What does the Diva role actually do? Abilities read "You are limited to three copies.".
    I think that line was meant to be under 'Special Attributes' and the actual ability description is missing?

    2) What's the active gameplay for Lover? It looks to be a role who can do nothing but wait and hope for the best.
    I don't believe that role's existence to have a net positive impact on the game.

    3) Are the Swinger's and Lover's targets notified? Presumably not, but I feel like it'd be nice to add a line elaborating on that.

    4) I personally would prefer it if Poisoner's "Target dies x nights later" options were replaced with "You have to skip x nights between poisons" + add the option of making him night immune.

    5) I like that there's now a resemblance of an order (amongst the individual faction groups) in the role cards list, the newest roles being on the left side. It'd be nice if it went 1 step further and order them either by their categories or alphabetically. This is something that always annoyed me in Mafia 1.0, finding the role card that I want to check has always been difficult since the only option is to check them at random.

    6) I probably wrote this somewhere else already, but I still think it'd be good if roles with possible killing have kill descriptions added to their role cards.

    Constable, Street Racer, Party Host, Armorsmith, Oracle, Enchantress, Double Flower, Caporegime, Actress/Diva, Heartbreaker/Swinger, Poisoner, and Lover are all amazing additions to the game.

    Whoever all are responsible for coming up with them... wow.

    Can't wait for Mafia 2 to be truly complete and 100%.

    (I'll upload more screenshots over time from different matches and more player(s)/background(s) perspectives for the sake of good ideas for the game preview page. A "Town Wins" perspective of a lot of people typing at the end in cheer/defeat just before points distribute should be vital as an advertisement image as well. I'll look through my replays each day until I find a really good one.)
    I think it's better to disable that timer and player switching thingy, that is on the bottom right, if make screenshot from replay.
    You can do it by switching the Replay Interface.

    I was wondering if there could be added kill desceptions to role cards just so it's easier to learn them? Important game mechanic.

    Atm, it's impossible to learn them in-game by yourself except for play games and figure it out.

    Contest sounds fun and all, but whenever I randomly check out SC2 - there is never a Mafia game.
    Once there was a lobby for with 1 player for 10 minutes before it disappeared.


    Personally, I think it'd better that instead of having generic screenshots (which are far less insightful on what the game is about in this game in particular) have them be themed and with big explanatory texts.
    Like for example they have in this Arcade:

    There's probably a lot of things manufactured that are let's say harmful to human health and we don't know about it or the companies yearly lawsuit expenses are well covered by their incomes.

    In a world with extreme automation, I'm thinking that the only way to avoid that sort of products getting forever produced would be by limiting productions to a necessary minimum and halt all progress.

    If you try to google the meaning of any neopronoun that you know and if your googling skills are same as mine, then chances are you'll only find that it's nothing more than a synonym for they/them.

    This may give some insight into the purpose of neopronouns:
    Its different for everyone, Finch says. For two years I used ze and hir pronouns, and its kind of a process of trying them out and having other people try them out to see how it feels and sounds. (Finch now primarily identifies as he and him.)

    The common sentiment for having different options for your pronoun to choose from is something like this:
    Words that in a way function as a marker of some part of one's identity, it does matter that people should find those they can feel comfortable with.

    I'm all for people feeling better. But why would a synonym of the same word feel any different? Same meaning, different sound. What's the purpose?

    I don't care what people decide to call themselves, but except it creates problems doesn't it? If I want to talk about Marshmallow Marshall and not say that long name every time - I have to go ask him his preferred pronoun first. Assuming I know his name in the first place.

    What I want to understand is - how are neopronouns worth anything? What am I missing?
    I myself wanted to learn about this stuff, but I can't help and conclude that neopronouns add problems for no benefit that I can see.

    Probably something like:
    Add rule "anyone without a vote at EoD, in case of plurality lynch, gets sent to Siberian work camps and will be never heard of again".
    Change the 2ndary wincon to "explode 51%+", and change the primary wincons to some flag.

    You're awesome!

    Each night, you may choose a target for the following day. If the target dies by the CIA's ability that day, you save them. If the target is a CIA who tries to explode, you stop them.
    Your ability doesn't work if you're eliminated wether at night or day.
    Your ability gives you no feedbacks.

    CIA
    As a member of the CIA, you have a mandatory factional night kill at your disposal. If no target is chosen, one is chosen randomly for you.
    Additionally, at nights you may choose to use your ability the following day. Your ability explodes you at the end of the day, eliminating you and everyone who has a vote on you. You can't stop the explosion, only the KGB can.


    Special Mechanics
    • CIA alternative win condition and their Explosive Tactics ability.
    • But only in the 9P version, CIA's factional night kill is disabled nights 1 and 2.


    Mechanics
    • Days 48 hours, Nights 24 hours.
    • Majority+Plurality Lynch Mechanic.
    • Skipping the day is allowed once.
    • Last Wills and Death notes are allowed.
    • CIA share a mandatory factional night kill.
    • CIA's private chat is both night and day active.
