So we got less than 24h left if I got that right so I'm just gonna go ahead and go with the plan that's likelier to get us to a lynch.

I guess making a mistake today or tomorrow doesn't change much, since we lose either way, so we might as well lynch for who we think is scummy and who we can form a consensus against.

We probably should wait for others to chip in before voting, though. Or at least hope they chime in.
    Yeah, agreed.

►►Re: S-FM Eternal Conflict (Off Queue Game Ongoing)◄◄

I was thinking of also posting today for sure to find a consensus.

Rhand to me is not the scummiest, it's Martin. I wouldn't be super happy with a Rhand lynch because by themselves the slot doesn't look like much either way, it's only scummy by association and while I agree that Rhand would be the most probable overlap in either scenario, I can't entirely rule out Martin + Bahkieh. So my vote would likely be for Martin.

Although thinking about this, honestly, even if we lynch Rhand and we're right I'd still go for Martin most likely the next day so it doesn't really matter which way around we do this. In the end the likeliest pairings are MM + Bahkieh or Martin + Rhand from my POV and the latter is scummier to me than the former.

I'm just not sure if we will be able to lynch Rhand. If we're right then the question is if Bahkieh can wake up from their slumber to change their vote. Other than that I guess I'm more or less behind that.

You know, this is one of the few posts by you where I can say we're pretty much in agreement. Not that I never agreed with anything you said before but this strikes all the right chords with me.

Scenario 1 is what I consider currently as most likely and Scenario 3 is also what popped in my head as likely initially but I ultimately ruled it out due to the fact that I believe Martin to be scum. Scenario 2 would really bite us in the ass if it ends up that way but I think that if we lynch Martin and we're right then like 8/10 times I'm gonna lynch Rhand over Bahkieh. Even though I'd agree that looked at individually, Bahkieh would top the list.

Other than that I'd agree that in principle it's not the best look to make myself out to be a sort of safe town slot but I reckon the context of the situation will speak towards why this is a town move and not a scum play.

►►Re: S-FM Eternal Conflict (Off Queue Game Ongoing)◄◄

Several points I'd like to make:

First of all, I'd like to plead the case that I should be considered a safe town slot. This might get me killed the coming night (if I'm not already the highest priority due to the chat I have with Helz), but it'll help for the current lynch situation. This would make it so from a different town POV there's a 2/3 chance of getting the lynch right which is better than a simple 50/50, obviously. The reason I'm pleading the case is because me making the effort of communicating with the dead as a middle man should speak to my alignment. If I were scum, do I really, at this point in the game, pull a gambit like that? It's not like I was particularly at risk beforehand. And if I'm scum and openly claim to have a chat with Helz and it's actually someone else who has a chat going then I'm immediately revealed. Too risky from a scum POV. This is why everyone here should consider me a town slot.

Getting this out of the way, let me make my current POV clear (which is a mix of the discussion between Helz and me and my own thoughts):
Currently Martin would be the top lynch for me. This is largely due to mechanical reasons as well as behavioural. The main thing I'm considering is that Martin is involved in two voting situations and no one was sniped yet. Bahkieh and MM could also be said to be suspicious mechanically because either Bahkieh is scum and that's why Martin hasn't been sniped or MM is scum and that's why MM hasn't been sniped. But Martin is involved as someone that's gotten voted on as well as voting someone else. Furthermore, behaviourally I still see the Martin voting MM as a point that sticks out to me, especially since Wisp mentioned it. It really was a very nonchalant vote that's only further been justified afterwards and while Martin has responded to my earlier accusation, it's not been quite to my satisfaction.

I also dislike Martin's insistence on DM/Rhand having been checked. As much as Helz is telling me, it seems like Mag has checked neither DM or SJ. Which brings me to the point that DM/Rhand is still a serious suspect and if Martin turns up scum then it's very likely that Rhand is the scum mate. I wouldn't make that conclusion 100% but if Martin is scum and it's between Bahkieh and Rhand then I'd most likely go for Rhand. Although I'm really not feeling very good about Bahkieh being town overall. lol

Right now in a MM vs Martin situation I'd judge Martin as scummier and that's currently who I'd lynch at EOD. Then next day likely go for Rhand.

Well, this has now become a really slow game.

So let's start this back up. MM, you state a lot of opinions and express where you agree and disagree on reads and that's cool. I'd like to hear more specifically though: If you had to vote someone today, right now, who would that be? Bahkieh and Martin have made their opinions clear so I'm wondering about yours as it's not really explicitly clear to me.

@Rhand have you had time to read this game? Would love to hear some new perspectives, especially regarding what you think of MM, Martin and Bahkieh respectively. Have you progressed far enough?

►►Re: S-FM Eternal Conflict (Off Queue Game Ongoing)◄◄

Well, I'll say that I do think the different ways that yzb has responded to voting either of them D1 does indicate something but trying to find out the intent is not easy. Be that as it may, I'll paraphrase some interesting points Helz has made:

First of all: Everyone needs to be careful with their vote. It should be obvious, but especially this setup allows scum to coordinate during the day which allows them to snipe any town member here that currently has 1 vote. To add on:
It also means that if you had a vote standing for a while and the scum did not snipe they are either pulling some FPS stuff or (more likely) that player you had voted on is scum. If another player has a vote standing they are either scum or their vote is on a scum placing them in a 1v1 situation given that no normal scum would ever pillow push in this situation.
To which Helz summed up that #1625 means Bahkieh or MartinGG is scum and #1627 means either Martin or MM is scum. And since it's been 2 days since those votes it's reasonable to assume that both of those situations have 1v1 scum and one of them must be a scum player voting. Adding on:
..its a mechanical certainty that either Bahkieh or Martin have to be scum for both the reason of scums snipe ability not used on Martin as well as the inability for 2 town to vote on 2 scum between only 3 players.
Further, a point that I liked a lot made by someone in dead chat is how insane it is for Martin to throw a "Let me just put this here" and vote. I definitely agree, now that it's been pointed out.

All in all we should allow Rhand some more time to read up and I'll also keep discussing some points with Helz to add more town perspectives here.

I was also advised to be open about the fact that at the time of making my last post, the "things going on" was Helz inviting me to his Priest dead chat. He has said that due to something he said in dead chat scum will know that Helz and I have a permanent chat now so I wanna be open to everyone here as well.

►►Re: S-FM Eternal Conflict (Off Queue Game Ongoing)◄◄

To add onto my explanation of yzb intent behind DM vs Bahkieh:

Their line when voting Bahkieh, saying "fuck it. If this train is truly scum motivated that means multiple people here are scum and they are seriously implicating themselves by pulling that." could also imply knowledge that Bahkieh really is town and this is yzb trying to cast suspicion onto everyone else that finds Bahkieh suspicious if they manage to shift the lynch on Bahkieh. Thus yzb's happiness to vote DM would point towards yzb wanting to gain big town cred for being on the right train if DM gets lynched (although the proclaimed goal was to achieve a null lynch).

It's hard for me to really say which way around is more likely to be true, which is why I'd love to hear some thoughts before I really lock in Bahkieh as scum.

►►Re: S-FM Eternal Conflict (Off Queue Game Ongoing)◄◄

I have re-read this whole game these last couple of hours and honestly, it has given me more questions than answers.

I'm only half convinced that Mag checked DM. I'm cannot 100% tell if Mag had an honest read-switch from D1 to D2 on DM or if he actually checked him. He brings up the vote dynamics on D1 as reason to make SJ, MM and DM the town core. When I looked at the way that went though, both MM and Martin were on yzb pretty early on, but also switched votes to other people momentarily. DM had their vote on other people up until close to the end where they tried to place a vote on yzb but failed to do so.

What's more interesting is that yzb, when Helz mentioned it and voted Dark Magician, was ready to sheep him onto DM to protect himself.

    Null lynch gogogo!
Would yzb, as scum, jump at the chance to sacrifice fellow scum mate DM? A couple posts later he showed a reluctance to sacrifice Bahkieh instead, calling it "lame". Couple posts later he did jump onto Bahkieh though but said this:

Failed vote in this case. Comparing the tone however, I'd feel most comortable with lynching Bahkieh today. And in case Bahkieh is scum, MM would be the most likely partner. I don't see Bahkieh bussing Martin with their vote two days in a row.

    -vote Bahkieh

I'd love input on this though. scum!Bahkieh makes most sense to have scum!MM as mate but earlier during re-reading I also entertained both MM and Martin as possible town slots and considered a DM+Bahkieh team. In both cases I'd have Bahkieh down as scum though. If Martin turns out to be scum then wp, but it's a really close call for me here.

So.. first thought would be to go for DM/Rhand. But I do believe there's some stock to the idea that it's possibly TvT. I'll give it some thought before committing to anything.

Honestly though, it's literally 50% chance for me to vote the right person, 2/5 overall of lynching correctly right now in this game. It's MYLO so we need to be right today but luckily today is a long-ass time in this game. Will probably expend more effort than I have up until now to go back and see who I'd peg as scum. My IRL stress has also gone way down finally so I freed up some mental space.

I'd have no problems lynching Samson at this point but I wouldn't hammer right now since Martin for example hasn't even checked in. I'm fine with considering SJ town even if Mag hasn't explicitly said anything about having checked SJ. And if Samson turns up town I'd probably like to pursue DM first and then MM. Those are my current thoughts.

►►Re: S-FM Eternal Conflict (Off Queue Game Ongoing)◄◄

I'm really surprised myself that Varcron put me at the very top of his list. I was thinking a couple of irl days ago that I hadn't ever interacted with Varcron and then he comes out seeing me as top town. Not impossible, but I don't think the things I said warrant such a "solid" town read of me. I'd slot Varcron as possible to be scum, especially with the way they're twisting what they're saying as MM and also DM have pointed out. Although I don't like DM in that regard either, atleast I'd say it's unlikely that they're both scum. Except for bussing shenanigans, I think.

I'm kinda of the opinion that there's one scum between DM and Varcron and one scum between MM and SJ tbh. If there's facts that speak against that then let me know. It's just my inituition leading me to that impression. Although I don't like how Martin is flying under the radar again since he pops up sporadically with a few walls and seems to be gone. That's okay, but makes me forget about him which is dangerous.

And Bahkieh because he apologized for his inactivity and told us to off him, but when he realized it elicited the opposite reaction of what he might have wanted (assuming scum!Bahkieh) he started offering an opinion. Seems like a quick heel-turn so to speak but honestly it's a weak scum read.

How great. Listen, I'm pretty much out of ideas because any of you are more or less equally likely to be scum to me for various reasons. If I enthused over this game then I'd surely start looking in-depth at all the posts each of you remaining people have made and coming up with theories. Knowing myself though I realize even if I did all that, I'd still have a 50/50, maybe at best 60/40 chance of being right. I doubt I can spend that effort though. I don't know about all this.. I don't think any of the discussions since I last properly checked in change anything. I do think SJ is overly friendly to a self-proclaimed useless slot in Bahkieh as they themselves pointed out. A supposedly town role advocating for a lynch of themselves is a logical fallacy but I wouldn't say it's alignment indicative. All in all.. I dunno about Bahkieh. How does Samson dropping the veil score any town points and then lead to voting Martin? Fishy all around.

Other than that I still don't see any merit in keeping Samson alive but I do wonder if we can gain any knowledge from their flip. I'd say at this point finding associations between players and concluding connections would make a lot of sense but I doubt I'll get around to doing any of that. Might help us though.

Because Samson was at L-2 and my vote would've put him at L-1 which I didn't want to do at that point. And because my read is the following:

To me it seems like they don't care about the game or wanting to appear that way. If you were scum and tryharding then you'd likely not play this way. You would play this way as scum if you wanted people to think you were a useless town player. Risky, but doable. You could also be playing this way if you were a TPR and wanted to seem like a bad choice to kill but by doing so you become useless during the day. I feel like if that were a town role playing that way they'd atleast do a little bit more, for example some honest scum hunting attempts. They've barely dropped 2 or 3 lines altogether on "scum hunting" if you could even call it that. What I find weird is that they actually voted someone D1 for a disagreement about god, someone that was not on their earlier scum team read list:
    For post game

    Scum team:
Marshal, Wisp, Yzb25. Not hard Reads but gut reads.
and a couple hours later they voted:

    Job 2:6
And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

    -vote Hybrid Richard Dawkins
At this point it's a question of if we're wasting time because we believe them to be town and we should focus our attention elsewhere or if we do believe Samson is scum. In my eyes they have done nothing noteworthy to seem town which however doesn't make this slot 100% scum. Trolling, lurking town gameplay isn't too uncommon. Not sure overall but wouldn't feel bad about lynching in the end. Especially due to the scum read list I quoted.

To be frank, after all I could gather so far I'd say that Bahkieh seems town enough, a bit lost but not scum and SJ seems towny enough so far. DM is 50/50 to me so all in all I still don't have a problem with the Samson train as I said earlier. That said, I don't know how much more you wanna shake up Samson. If with "shake up" you mean lynch then we can go for the lynch right now but we have like what, 2 weeks left in the day? I'm not too sure on the lynch mechanics so if it ends the day at L-0 then shouldn't we still wait a while?

Sorry, upon rereading my previous post I can see that I was unclear in what I meant. Initially I voted Martin based on the tone of the quoted text, but in hindsight when I did some more in-depth reading I saw the proper context in which Martin acted during D1 which to me does not seem like scum bussing. His posts during D2 after I voted him simply confirmed that the tone I thought to read from one line was likely the wrong one. That's why Martin isn't very suspicious to me.

Sure, I'll give you one now. It's mostly because SJ quoted this post which I considered to have a suspicious tone due to wording. I disregarded everything else like the fact that he was voting yzb early and still committed at EOD because I only based it off of the single post SuperJack quoted. So I wanted to see how Martin would react after I voted him. After his further contributions I don't think we'll have to worry that Martin is scum so I'll unvote now.

You could argue that abrasiveness in general or by itself isn't scummy but in the context of which it is displayed to me makes it scummy. Samson apparently has a reason to act the way he does since he isn't forthcoming even after being prodded. Now if that reason is scum- or town-motivated is unclear but his contributions aren't helping us along during the day which to me makes his abrasiveness scummy behaviour.

I also don't believe anti-town behaviour isn't scummy behaviour. You could have some deeper reasons for wanting to appear to be anti-town and still actually be town but that doesn't make anti-town behaviour not scummy. So if abrasiveness is the result of anti-town behaviour then to me it's also scummy. Although I think I'm going off a tangent right now.

Honestly, after I've had the time to re-read some of the things said in the current day I'd place my vote on Martin. Not going to go too deep into why I feel that way.

No clue about Samson, hasn't posted anything of valuable since I joined. Seems kind of abrasive though which in turn seems pretty unhelpful to me.

I agree that in general it'd be a no-brainer to kill Wisp to eliminate god and then pick Helz because he's a strong player. I would however look closely at Helz's opinions first. If I were scum and he exhibited opinions of general distrust towards me or my mates then I'd definitely kill Helz. But would I still do it if I felt he was inclined to think of me as town? Might be worth researching tbh. But I'm too fried to do research now.

That's a pretty comprehensive summary so far SJ, thanks a lot. And cheers to MM for his summary as well. Helps me get a good feel for the situation so far. I'll need to take some time to read these posts again. At a first glance it seems kinda wasted that Grayswandir was shot if they were the one to call out yzb's scum slip but it is what it is.

Since I'm an emergency sub I wasn't super keen on joining in the first place but I was needed so here I am. That means however that I cannot really be arsed to read up on D1 when I'd rather have you guys sum it up for me. I think that'll not only help me but also help you put D1 in perspective. So let's try:

    1. In summary, what was the reason for voting out yzb? What made him scummier than others?

    2. What are the key arguments that happened during D1 that will persist into D2?

    3. Are there any claims or findings that I should know about?

Anyone is free to respond to these points but specifically I'd love to hear from @SuperJack , @S-FM Magoroth and @Marshmallow Marshall .

    Press F in the chat

So far if I had to name a language I actively disliked from the ones I had to use I'd say Delphi is pretty high up there. Just don't like it but I only dabbled in it. LotusScript is also kinda bleh but I'm nostalgic for it because I made some cool things with it and it's one of the first languages I had to actually work with at my first job.

His goals led him to a shabby tavern. For his top secret mission to succeed he has had to pull out all the stops to remain undercover. He's unsure why it had to be this place but all the indications brought him here. To fully blend in he figured out exactly what he had to wear: A clown costume.

Well, thanks for clearing that up then and confirming that thought of mine. Never signed for a game with ika and SilverWolf as far as I can remember due to my suspicions, or atleast I tried to avoid it when I could. Wonder what ika is up to nowadays..

Quite possibly, since after a certain amount of time passed I no longer regarded it as hot news so I felt free to share it.. trust me when I say it was pretty low-scale, but I wouldn't have been surprised if anyone wanted to retrospectively punish me/us for it.. at that point however I wouldn't have cared about that, still wouldn't care. Not to say that I didn't feel bad about doing it back then, I did lol

On the topic of ika and SilverWolf, pretty sure it's likely they did OGC for their games since ika and I had done it on a small scale way back in the day.. I've mentioned this somewhere once before in some staff chat but ika propositioned me once and we irregularly had small exchanges here and there after that.. /shrug just an assumption I've had ever since they came together and played in the same games lol.

I wanted to have some latin sounding name back when I first got SC2 and I remembered the word "nox" from my latin lessons and was thinking "nox, noctis" (the genitive form) and then put an edgy spin on it.. yay teenage me. Still can't quite shake the name even though there's loads of Noctis around thanks to a FF game that I didn't know had such a named character back then..

Funnily enough, I did see it and at the very least I thought that you must have a night action or a night chat. It's always been used and I think it always will be. I mean, maybe for Anon accounts it could be disabled in the ACP? But not sure if that's a possibility.

Sup, it's me, new!Lois. Man did I find it tough to keep up early days with all the posts and my RL commitments (had some children over that we had to entertain at times lmao). Despite that, kinda enjoyed the game even if I did let myself get carried away by the notion that Quinne seemed not smart enough to pull off devious scum plays (fk u SJ). I had the natural inclination to distrust Mulan more than Quinne. The good thing is that it wouldn't have changed much I think at the point in the game where I died.

GGs, time for another year or two break.
